The physical accommodations were in line with what you would expect from an establishment of this type. However, the service left a great deal to be desired. My husband and I booked this hotel because of the reviews which described it as “quaint”, “romantic”, and “historic”. It sounded perfect for the last night of our travels in Paraguay. We had booked a room with a queen size bed through an online booking app which we confirmed before arrival. Upon arrival, however, we were escorted to a room with two twin beds. After explaining the situation to the bellhop, he seemed confused and said that's what we booked. It was not an issue of understanding. My husband is Paraguayan and speaks both Spanish and Guarani as a native. Returning to the reception desk, we were made to feel very uncomfortable, receiving sharp stares. While the whispers were quiet, I assume that they did not realize that my husband understood everything they said. Finally, we were sent to the room we reserved and paid for with a lame apology from the reception desk clerk and stony silence from the bellhop. The unwelcoming atmosphere we received at check-in meant that we really did not experience any of the romantic charm we were looking for. We got the same looks of disgust when checking out the next morning. Quite an unpleasant last day.

Great memories of this grand hotel. It once used to be a private manor. The accommodations are ok, nothing too fancy but the dining room, the lobby and the garden are grand. Typical place in the colonial Paraguayan style. The food was good too and prices adequate. Loved it.

the rooms on the floor are the best, you get direct access to the gardens, it’s really quiet and the rooms are so comfortable. unfortunately, the rooms on the 1st floor (above the entrance) are smaller, louder, and have almost no charm.

This is a wonderful Hotel. It was the salon of Madame Lynch, the Mistress of Francisco Solano Lopez. The place has a lot of history and is a comfortable and friendly place to visit in downtown Asuncion, Paraguay.. It's like a little Oasis with his fine Gardens and swimming pool. I really like the place.

This is a fabulous hotel with a long history and a lot of character. The staff are very kind and helpful. It’s not a modern hotel by any means but it’s comfortable enough and in a very good location. I would recommend it to everyone.

A beautiful and lovely hotel, great staff, good rooms, nice gardens and swimming pool, but a poor gim. A place I want to come back!

Good food, nice service. I like their oldie Asunción style of the building.

Former quarters of the Spanish colonial governor. Well maintained facility with first class amenities. Perfect to get away from it all stay so it could be a little inconvenient as it's neither downtown or in Villa Mora. Would be my first choice if staying in Asunción.
