The
physical
accommodations
were
in
line
with
what
you
would
expect
from
an
establishment
of
this
type.
However,
the
service
left
a
great
deal
to
be
desired.
My
husband
and
I
booked
this
hotel
because
of
the
reviews
which
described
it
as
“quaint”,
“romantic”,
and
“historic”.
It
sounded
perfect
for
the
last
night
of
our
travels
in
Paraguay.
We
had
booked
a
room
with
a
queen
size
bed
through
an
online
booking
app
which
we
confirmed
before
arrival.
Upon
arrival,
however,
we
were
escorted
to
a
room
with
two
twin
beds.
After
explaining
the
situation
to
the
bellhop,
he
seemed
confused
and
said
that's
what
we
booked.
It
was
not
an
issue
of
understanding.
My
husband
is
Paraguayan
and
speaks
both
Spanish
and
Guarani
as
a
native.
Returning
to
the
reception
desk,
we
were
made
to
feel
very
uncomfortable,
receiving
sharp
stares.
While
the
whispers
were
quiet,
I
assume
that
they
did
not
realize
that
my
husband
understood
everything
they
said.
Finally,
we
were
sent
to
the
room
we
reserved
and
paid
for
with
a
lame
apology
from
the
reception
desk
clerk
and
stony
silence
from
the
bellhop.
The
unwelcoming
atmosphere
we
received
at
check-in
meant
that
we
really
did
not
experience
any
of
the
romantic
charm
we
were
looking
for.
We
got
the
same
looks
of
disgust
when
checking
out
the
next
morning.
Quite
an
unpleasant
last
day.
