Passed through SLO and stopped here on a friend's recommendation. Definitely met the high expectations we had. The food was absolutely fantastic. The pizza had a thinner crust and had excellent flavor. The pasta was thinner and had great texture. The sauce was amazing. We had two great servers who were really friendly and helpful.

Came to town for the Thursday night farmers market and decided to give this place a try. There was a 45 min wait for a table but luckily I snagged a seat at the bar. Great lively atmosphere and the food was delicious. The dipping sauce for the bread is out of control good. The crispy Brussels and pizza were fantastic!

Doesn’t get any better than house-made pasta and sauces! Whether sitting on the back patio or inside, I love the vibe here and the food is phenomenal. Staff have always been friendly and highly knowledgeable of the menu and wines. My favorites include ANY of the pasta dishes and their calamari! Downtown SLO and just one block from one of the parking ramps. Easy to get to. Note that they close for a period of time late afternoon between lunch and dinner service.

In SLO to tour Cal Poly and all the walking & talking worked up an appetite, and the kiddo said pizza and so onto Google Maps and then it's off to Giuseppe's we go. And we definitely made the right decision. The decor is fun and the vibe is inviting. But most of all the food is great. We started with brussell sprouts which had just the right amount of char and salt and butter and we could not stop eating them. Waygu meatballs were tender and hearty, served with fresh pasta swimming in thick and deep marinara sauce. Pizza crust was baked to perfection and the cheese and garlic were just the perfect complement to the pepperoni. Our waitress recommended a local pinot noir from Cotiere - outstanding, 5⭐️and I HIGHLY recommend I foresee that Giuseppe's will be a regular destination for all my future visits to SLO.

It you are craving upscale Italian food, this is the place. The food is fresh and portions are just right. Great place for a date or family meal. Good selection of wine, deserts and gelato.

I read up on this place as one of the best dinner spots in SLO and that it's been here for more than 30 years. After an hour wait (watch out no reservations unless you're a very large party), we were seated in a charming patio area between the 2 buildings. Great service from Aubrey and the sweet fellow who was assisting her. The food was quite good. The zucchini flowers were nice and crisp but a outlying heavy on the mozzarella, my husband was okay with the spaghetti and meatballs (good marinara but wagyu meatballs were a bit dry); however, my linguine and clams (or vongole) was to die for. Huge local clams, fresh made linguine, lovely amount of white wine sauce with garlic, parsley, lemon, wine and chili flakes. I even think extra clams were added to the sauce. The coconut & lemon cake was a creative idea and tasty. Overall a fun experience!

Favorite Italian restaurant to visit every time I’m in SLO or Pismo! Fresh pasta and homemade sauce. What could be better? Go to recommendations are their carbonara or tagliatelle bolognese. Their gelato trio is a treat! Take it to go and enjoy it at Avila or Pismo beach. Last night we ordered their polpette appetizer, split the tagliatelle bolognese ($4 split fee and the potion size was filling), and chocolate strawberries. Fresh bread with their signature dipping sauce (garlic, balsamic, Parmesan and olive oil) is a staple. The ambiance inside is beautifully decorated and inviting!

The food was good . Wonderful atmosphere. The waiting staffs were wonderful . Clam chowder was really creamy and well flavored. The pizza was so good even though a couple of slices had burnt ends . The only issue I had was with the wait time . There were open seats at the inside patio while we were standing to be seated .

Talk about good Italian food. Appreciated it because they put their own touches on Italian cuisine to kick it up a notch. Clearly professionals' lunch place for it was filled during the lunch hour. Fun decor., even using the old vault from bank days.

Stopped in for a quick lunch on our way through San Luis Obispo. Pizza was really really good, base is super crispy and the sauce is really flavourful. $4.50 a slice, had 2 each and was perfectly full after. Staff was really pleasant and helpful too. 10/10 would definitely go back again and recommend to a friend!

One of the best Italian restaurants we ever been to. The vibe is fun, lively, and a family feel as well. The service was top notch. We sat at the bar and they were so attentive. We had Tyler as our server and he was the best. The food was delicious! They have you start off with bread and the dip is super tasty with olive oil, Parmesan cheese, and just other delicious spices. We ordered a pasta dish with seafood in white sauce. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the prawns were super fresh. They even give you a whole dish of fresh Parmesan cheese and we weren’t shy about using it. Drinks we got a Negroni and their famous drink with baileys gin and espresso so tasty. We will be back!

Wonderful lunch. The bread and oluve oil was a great start. Butternut squash ravioli and seafood in white sauce. It was so good my wife wouldn't share. Terrific attentive staff.

We liked everything we had here. Wine was great. Caesar was delicious. Pizza was good. Clam pasta was yummy. Sorbetto was perfect. And to boot- our server Katya provided one of the friendliest server experiences we've had in a long time.

We had our dogs with us, the restaurant offers a back patio for them to be included, the entrance is through the alley next to the restaurant. They had a waiting time of 20 min when we arrived. The restaurant is gorgeous, clean and organized, they have a variety in their menu and they also offer over the counter desserts and to-go food. My food was delicious, I had a Giuseppe instalata with grilled chicken breast. I want to go back everyday for their meals. The calamari shrimp appetizer needs a little bit of improvement but I was too focused on my plate I didn’t affect my experience. Service was amazing, very patient and thorough. I was so focus in enjoying the place and everything surrounding me that only remembered to take pics of the food, missed the chicken grilled thou. I recommend trying this place at least once and make up your mind if it’s worth trying it again. I for one must come back for their dinner menu, I had their lunch menu. And I obviously have to try their pizza. Once I visit the restaurant again I’ll update the post.

One of the best experiences to be had in SLO. I waited 2 hours to be seated for dinner on a Friday night but it was well worth it. The patio seating in the back is truly a magical place. Our server was wonderful, so jovial and took great care of us. The food was a little bit on the saltier side but that may be just me preferring things more on the bland side. They make their bread, pasta, sauce, desserts all in house and I could tell. The pasta was so fresh and chewy and the bread before the meal was quite tasty. I would recommend the octopus appetizer from the things that we ordered. They also have a great local wine selection so make sure to order a bottle for the table. Overall a wonderful dining experience, highly recommend a visit when in SLO.

We truly love visiting Giuseppe’s whenever we are in town. They do not take reservations and this place is POPULAR. You have to get there early if you don’t want to wait 2 hours. But the wait is worth it. The food is phenomenal and the service has always been really great. We had a mishap this last time we went. Waited 2 hours when they told us it would be 30 minutes. They took our name and number down and said they called our number at around 30 minutes past our original quote, but there was no call. We checked in frequently too. They were able to seat us at least, but just be mindful of that. Check in with the host frequently.

Stopped in at the bar for drinks. Ordered clam chowder with our drinks. It was full of clams and tasted fantastic. One of the best I've ever had. The service was outstanding. The restaurant was packed with a lot of people waiting. We waited about 10 minutes for 2 seats at the bar. It was well worth the wait. A great place!

Great ambience, cozy. Love the appetizers. The main dishes were a bit on the heavy flavored side, still pretty good. Excellent service!

Good Italian fare in a central location. Made reservations while visiting. Reservations were early-before seven on a weekday. Place was busy. We are placed in an area by the service entrance between bar and kitchen. Busy area with people standing by. Server was polite and knew plenty about the menu. Food came out to order. Tried a couple salads and pasta dishes. Everything was good. Finished up with cannoli and tiramisu. A good choice for Italian food.

Amazingly delicious food, great holiday ambiance, professional staff, well-done Italian theme. We arrived in town a bit late in the evening and were pleasantly excited to get a table real quick. Service was great, though the servers can do a bit more to add some warmth to their armory!
