I
recently
dined
at
Fire
Stone
in
San
Luis
Obispo,
California,
after
a
busy
morning.
We
were
initially
divided
on
our
choice,
but
my
cousin's
recommendation
won.
It
was
my
first
visit,
and
I'd
heard
great
things
about
the
place.
We
ordered
a
variety
of
dishes.
The
service
was
quick,
with
our
food
arriving
in
just
about
15
minutes.
We
started
with
the
fries,
which
had
a
good
crunch
but
were
a
bit
over-seasoned
for
my
taste,
though
they
were
enough
to
share
among
three
of
us.
Next
up
was
the
grilled
cheese
sandwich,
which
was
decent
but
not
outstanding.
I
wasn't
a
fan
of
the
bread
choice,
and
it
didn't
complement
the
cheese
well.
Finally,
I
tried
the
tri-tip
sandwich.
While
it's
been
highly
praised,
I
found
it
a
bit
overhyped.
It
was
a
tad
dry
and
required
a
generous
helping
of
barbecue
sauce
to
enhance
the
flavor.
I
usually
like
to
taste
the
meat
without
sauce,
and
this
didn't
impress
on
its
own.
Overall,
I'd
rate
the
fries
a
3
out
of
5,
the
grilled
cheese
a
2
out
of
5,
and
the
tri-tip
sandwich
also
a
3
out
of
5.
While
the
experience
had
its
ups
and
downs,
Fire
Stone
didn't
quite
meet
my
expectations.
This
is
just
my
opinion
from
my
experiences
in
other
restaurants
if
you
want
to
try
it
out
for
yourself
then
go
right
ahead.
