I have only been disappointed maybe 1 time out of 75. Solid food, quick service and great outdoor patio. They have plenty of TV’s and a bar for game days or chilling. They are known for their tritip sandwiches but I find their burgers and tacos 🌮 bomb. The line goes really quick.

They stack bowls of fries and onion rings on top of their burger orders and hot dogs. When I inquired to management that this was unsanitary and if they can make it right because I do not want to eat tri-tip sandwiches or hot dogs that have bowls stacked on top, the night manager (Darrel) was rude. He said this is how we always do it-what do you want me to do about it? So very rude but SO VERY unsanitary. It ruined the entire night-it was supposed to nice meal with family returning my sister to college. Very disappointed. When I inquired what time is best to call next day to speak with another manager, the staff members told me good luck because no one ever answers the phones. See image below-one should NEVER serve food like this. The health department would agree this is NOT OK and Darrel's response of "THIS IS HOW WE ALWAYS DO IT" probably would not be well received by them.

My gosh this place is good decent music, indoor/outdoor environment. I ordered the tri-tip sandwich with fries, 2 separate charges which I am OK with. Meat on Sandwich cooked good no red at all, super soft not tough to bite into. There BBQ sauce that the sandwich is topped with was outstanding as well. Plus there fries are the skinny fries like at McDonald's but what sets them apart is that they have a good seasoning on the fries itself. Of course I would definitely return back here and a recommended this restaurant for anyone to stop by and try.

Best tri-tip in SLO. Can't feed a family for under $100 with this quality of food. The wait time is ridiculously fast and the TVs are stimulation overload but always a great vibe.

The staple of everyone who has ever lived in San Luis Obispo! I graduated over 15 years ago and we still have to pick some up whenever we visit! I love that you can order online through their app. So convenient! Yesterday was kind of a one off day since the power went out downtown. We placed an order for pick up so we could take food back to SoCal only to walk into a pitch black restaurant. Kind of devastated as we couldn’t wait until the power came back, an employee was going to take my name and order number so they could cancel our order but he took a look at what we ordered before taking down my info. He said they had enough food to make our order! The tri tip, was so tender. The best bbq sauce and that chopped salad! So good!!! Thank you Firestone!

Smack downtown SLO this popular bistro has the goods. With both outdoor and indoor seating you can park wherever suits you. Their menu runs the gamut from Tri tip to , hamburgers and salads. And the Tri tip is to die for. The portions are beyond ample and you wont go hungry. The service is provided by friendly and courteous staff. If your in for a brew or cocktail they got you covered.

Taste wise quite average, but apparently this restaurant quite popular, when i came, there was a queue line, maybe less than 10 mins waiting before i can make a take away order. The tri tips sandwich is their most famous dish, so i ordered it and too bad it didnt satisfy me enough, as you can see, the quantity are 😮 , maybe 6-7 stacks of beef slices, but not tasty enough for my pallets. Parking is also hard to find, i had to circle the area 3x before i got spot. Their pricing is 👍

Real American experience. It's a sport pub with a lot of screens where you can watch different games. The food is amazing and the prices reasonable. I really enjoyed this place !

Firestone grill (not to be mistaken for firestone walker or firestone the tire company) is the must go to place in San Luis Obispo. Popularly known for their tri-tip sandwich and darn good basket of fries. They provide the best beef (and non-beef) experience for anyone and everyone. Even their salad whether is asian chicken or steak cobb salad is to die for. Food comes out faster than fast food and they got their system down for everything. Parking downtown might be tricky (for free parking) but there are plenty of garages which are free for the first hour. Plenty of seating indoors and even outdoors which has a roof over it now with heater lamps when it gets cold in the winter. Pro-tip: When you pick up your food, always ask for extra bbq sauce or ranch Definitely a must try whenever you visit or stop by SLO

Firestone Grill is amazing! Me and my family were exploring the wonders of San Luis Obispo when we came across “Firestone Grill”. We decided on dining here. Pulled pork sandwiches are one of my favorite dishes of all time. I decided on ordering it (It’s called “The Pig on their menu”.) Also ordering a side of fries. When I saw that masterpiece, I immediately knew I was in for a rollercoaster of flavor. First bite into the sandwich, and I was honestly amazed. First off, the barbecue sauce was a great add-on, giving it a little sweetness to company the smoky flavor of the pork. The bread was prepared perfectly, making it crispy and delicious. The fries weren’t as great as others I’ve eaten. It's still amazing, though. I’d really recommend trying “the Pig” or their signature tri tip sandwich. It's such an amazing restaurant!!!

Since I was in town, I had to try the famous Tri-Tip sandwich for the first time. This sandwich is an absolute treat for meat-lovers. They pack a TON of tender tri-tip slices between the slightly toasted french roll, which was smeared with their (what I think is house-made) BBQ sauce on both sides. For the sandwich along with a side salad, the total came out to be around $22, which I believe is a little pricey, but still worth if you're going for tri-tip. Recently, they finished renovating their covered outdoor patio area so make sure to dine-in if you get the chance. Overall, I love tri-tip and the restaurant's vibes, but I wouldn't go overly crazy for it. Nonetheless, it's clear to see why Firestone is one of the most popular spots in SLO. Tip: Make sure to ask for extra sauce on the side to dip the sandwich in to add more flavor, and because the sandwich could get a little dry midway through.

Been coming here since then late 90s. The tri-tip sandwich is a staple and well recognize. Fries are seasoned and super tasty. Good to see that they classed up the front outdoor dining area with a huge lighted patio cover. PRO TIP : avoid the long ordering line by finding a open table towards the back. Sit down and a waitress will take your order.

Favorite place to go with family in all of SLO. Service is quick and helpful, even when there is a line out the door. The tri tip sandwich and pulled pork sandwich are must haves. They also have a good selection of beer and other drinks. Highly recommend if you're in the area and in the need of soemthing fast but delicious.

Firestone Grill is a hidden gem that never disappoints. Their tri-tip sandwich is outstanding, with tender and flavorful meat that will leave you craving more. The drinks are strong and well-crafted, perfect for those seeking an extra kick. My wife loves their chicken fingers, and the portion sizes are generous, so one order of fries is more than enough. Don't miss out on this fantastic dining experience!

Food: 4.5/5 Service: 3.5/5 Ambiance: 3.5/5 Overall: One of the best sandwiches I've had! The extended review... Food: Tri Tip Sandwich - 5/5 - I have no words! This sandwich was awesome. The meat was so tender and tasty. If I'm in the area...I'll be coming back for the sandwich! Caesar Salad - 4/5 - Pretty standard fare. The good thing is the portion size compared to the pricing. Service: 3.5/5 - Standard service. Ambiance: 3.5/5 - A decent amount of seating both inside and out.

Had “the pig” with fries. That’s the pulled pork sandwich, comes with slaw. They must have changed the recipe or something because it was delicious. This sandwich had a tendency to be dry. Clearly I came back and ordered it again because it was still good before. Always wished for more juice, more sauce. They delivered!

Absolutely amazing the tri-tip sandwich what the reviews say are true absolutely delicious! Also, I recommend just getting a side of fries. You can share it with two of you also if you like a decent amount of barbecue sauce. Get a side sauce to dip it in overall. Great experience and great food. Definitely one of the best tri-tip sandwiches I've ever had

One of the best bbq stops to make on the California cost. This is one of four locations that serve some of the best tritip and pulled pork sandwiches out there. If you go there, go hungry and the portions are big. A basket a fries feeds four, with two of us being hungry kids. The salads are also fully loaded and fresh. Their small salad is most places large. The restaurant has a good amount of seating inside, but it is loud with all the hustle and bustle of people and orders being called. There is a large setting area outside as well but bring a sweater as it was cold on our visit. One last thing to remember is this is a popular place and will be busy. The order line does move fast, and the food comes out even faster.

Love this place. Arrived on Labor Day weekend. Lined out the door. And it only took us 15 min to get food. Amazing speed. Super affordable. Thank you to the owners of this who are keeping food at a reasonably low cost even after all the price increases over the last year out in the world. We eat there again and again.

Hamburger and diet Pepsi (free refills), $9. Service was quick and friendly, outdoor seating under a canopy of trees was a delightful way to enjoy lunch break. It looks like there's a sports bar inside.

This is another MUST STOP for us when traveling in, through, or around SLO. Their signature sandwich, the Tri-Tip, IS. TO. DIE. FOR! I cannot say enough good things about this place. I've tried the Pig, the ABC Burger, the Monster Burger, and the Hal-a-Peño Burger. Every single one did NOT disappoint. French fries are great, but you have got to get the onion rings! Plenty of fountain drinks to choose from, as well as beers. The inside seating area fills up quickly, but there are outside tables with heaters available. There is also bar seating if you prefer. The only downside is the parking. Street parking is very limited and it's metered. And FYI, no more coin meters, you have to download an app or go on-line. If you are in the area, you have to stop here.

Every time we travel to SLO, this is one place the family and I have to stop in. The food is fantastic. The service is quick. There’s a good beer selection. And the people are friendly. They’ve added a roof to their patio area to give you shade while eating and it’s a game changer as it can get pretty hot under that San Luis Obispo sun. Plus, horchata is on tap at the self service beverage bar.

Wow What a surprising place, line was long but moved quick, food arrived reasonably quick for a place that was CRAZY BUSY on a Saturday night rush @6pm. Food was DELICIOUS as were the drinks and all at LOW LOW prices, i means Ms double patty burger for $8.99!!! Are they mad? The pork ribs were done well with lovely sauce, the beans were on the sweet side (not my click as I think sweet is only for dessert), fries were delicious and a basket is way more than enough for a family. Beer and drinks were very reasonably priced as well. The sports memorabilia, bartender’s shorty tight shorts and sports on the all those TVs were icing on the cake. Would go back again in a heartbeat.

I recently dined at Fire Stone in San Luis Obispo, California, after a busy morning. We were initially divided on our choice, but my cousin's recommendation won. It was my first visit, and I'd heard great things about the place. We ordered a variety of dishes. The service was quick, with our food arriving in just about 15 minutes. We started with the fries, which had a good crunch but were a bit over-seasoned for my taste, though they were enough to share among three of us. Next up was the grilled cheese sandwich, which was decent but not outstanding. I wasn't a fan of the bread choice, and it didn't complement the cheese well. Finally, I tried the tri-tip sandwich. While it's been highly praised, I found it a bit overhyped. It was a tad dry and required a generous helping of barbecue sauce to enhance the flavor. I usually like to taste the meat without sauce, and this didn't impress on its own. Overall, I'd rate the fries a 3 out of 5, the grilled cheese a 2 out of 5, and the tri-tip sandwich also a 3 out of 5. While the experience had its ups and downs, Fire Stone didn't quite meet my expectations. This is just my opinion from my experiences in other restaurants if you want to try it out for yourself then go right ahead.

I heard about this place from a friend and decided to make a stop while driving between San Jose and LA along the 101 freeway. I wasn't disappointed. It was packed by the locals which is already an indication that food is great. Great time and food. Loved it!!

For me the food was average at best. Arrived during lunch time and it was very busy, but the line moved quickly and the food was ready extremely fast. I ordered the tritip sandwich and fries. Sandwich was dry. Meat was tender and there was plenty of it (it was slighty under seasoned imo). The bbq sauce is thick and just not my thing either. The fries were the best thing I had. Overall worth a visit, but don't expect too much.
