Well worth the visit, advance reservations a must as there were no walk up spaces available the day we hoped to tour home interior. Stunning architecture, beautifully landscaped grounds. A small bookstore/gift shop sits next to the house.

Located directly next to the Gamble House. Free parking, free to enter this bookstore/gift shop, then you can buy really beautiful souvenirs if you want. I bought the most beautiful Frank Lloyd Wright bookmarks and postcard!

My friend and I decided we wanted to see some historic homes in Pasedena. We saw great reviews for the Gamble house so decided that’s where we were going. I bought a tour ticket online on the website fir the Gamble House, the tickets are around $12.00, tour is 1 1/2 hours long. It is a great tour, the docent had so much information about the history, it’s a famous house definitely worth seeing. Masks are required to wear inside.

I had the pleasure of taking the Gamble House tour led by Docent Helen, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment the tour began, it was evident that Helen's passion for the Gamble House and its history was boundless. Helen's extensive knowledge about the architecture, the Greene brothers' design philosophy, and the Gamble family's connection to the house brought the tour to life in a captivating way. She effortlessly conveyed the intricate details of the craftsmanship, highlighting the beauty of the woodwork, stained glass, and overall design. What truly set this tour apart was Helen's ability to connect with the visitors. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and she welcomed questions, encouraging everyone to engage with the history and architecture of this iconic Arts and Crafts masterpiece. She had a knack for making the past come alive and transport us to a bygone era. The pacing of the tour was impeccable, allowing ample time to explore each room, admire the intricate features, and appreciate the serene ambiance of the Gamble House. Helen's anecdotes and stories about the Gamble family and their life in the house added a personal touch that made the tour even more memorable. In conclusion, Docent Helen's tour of the Gamble House was an enlightening and enriching experience. Her passion, knowledge, and engaging storytelling made this visit truly unforgettable. I highly recommend her tour to anyone interested in architecture, history, or simply appreciating the beauty of this architectural gem. Thank you, Docent Helen, for a remarkable tour!

I didn’t know about the Gamble House until today. My friend arranged the tour and our tour guide, Nao, was so knowledgeable. What I was surprised about this house was that we could see many Japanese influences and perfections in details everywhere. It’s worth to visit there.

A masterfully designed home with thought put into every room. The staff were accommodating of disability and can provide wheelchair access to the entire first floor of the home. Our docent was knowledgeable and overall the experience was great. I look forward to returning for a more in-depth tour

Was a lot of fun. It's open to the public. If you can figure out how to get back to the side road it's on, you can just park out front and walk around. Gift shop in the garage. The pull in is a small paved section along the main road in the front.

Are you a fan of Back to the Future? Then come visit the Gamble House (of Proctor and Gamble). This is where they filmed the exterior shots of Doc Brown's house and garage. I took both an interior tour and a walking tour of the neighborhood. Lots of great historical information on mid-century Craftsman homes, architecture and the Gamble family. The extra fun aspect is how this location was used in Back to the Future! Be sure to get your tour tickets in advance online.

It's a really nice place to visit. I love how they've conserved this place so neat throughout the years. It's huge! Everything is original and so unique.

Really fantastic place. Visited in late July. Thanks to their great health policies, this is also one of the few places my family and I can still go to. Thank you for looking out for public health! Interior tour was informative and our guide was very enthusiastic. And as a BTTF fan--what an experience to be where it all happened!

The Gamble House, aka, Doc. Emmit Brown's crib is located in Pasadena and is an architectural masterpiece that take you on a journey back through time. I went in thinking I will learn some things about back to the future trivia, etc, but I was bitterlysweetly (I know that's not a word lol) suprised. From the moment we set foot on its meticulously maintained grounds, we was transported to a bygone era, where attention to detail and craftsmanship shocased in everything we came across. We got tickets for "Behind The Velvet Rope" tour. The visit includes a guided tour led by knowledgeable docents who brought the history of the Gamble House to life with their years of experience, passion towards preservation of art and architecture and expertise acquired from over a decade. They regaled us with captivating stories about the Gamble family and pointed out the architectural features that make this house truly unique and one-of-a-kind. For the back to the future fans, I'm afraid there isn't much here, other than seeing the Doc's house and garage from the outside. A little tip; if you are looking to see the inside of the house that was shown in the movie, check out Robert R. Blacker House which is less than 5 miles away. One of the little secrets the dosants shared with me while they rolled their eyes! Lol JK. They were super sweet! 🫣 That said, I wholeheartedly recommend visiting the Gamble House in Pasadena. It is an opportunity to witness architectural brilliance, get a glimpse into history and get transported to an era of unparalleled beauty, creativity and masterpiece. Buying tickets in advance are recommended but not always necessary unless you are looking to do a special tour like behind the velvet rope. Have fun!

Did not go inside. But it was so awesome to see Doc Brown’s home from Back To The Future. It was totally surreal. The house is gorgeous to say the least. Wasn’t too bad when I was there. I have heard it can get crowded. This is a must see if you are in Pasadena.

The Gamble House itself deserves 5 stars. Stunning architecture, exquisite details and just beautiful overall. The problem is the management that STILL REQUIRES a mask in September of 2022!! For Pete's sake! I understand that in general, LA county folk live in a bubble, or more like an echo chamber, and therefore are stuck in 2020, but newsflash...the rest of the world has moved on! It's no longer acceptable to DEMAND the use of a mask from perfectly healthy people. It's called choice. Ironically, the day before visiting this place, I spent the evening at a Duran Duran concert, shoulder to shoulder in a a sea of thousands of people all without masks! Time to get on with life!

This a must see when visiting Pasadena. The house was built by the legendary architects Green and Green over a century ago. Step back to the turn of the Century. Guides are so knowledgeable and pleasant. Their love for this house is comes shining through.

Weekday visit. It's more impressive in person. There is limited parking in front, I didn't know that and parked on a side street. They have tours and a book store. Great visit, you have to visit.

We loved our tour of the Gamble house yesterday afternoon! Christina was our tour guide and she was so knowledgeable and informative. She was patient with everyone and did a great job of keeping the questions on track. The house was spectacular! Our images don’t do it justice. If you are on the fence about whether or not to come and see the house in person, I urge you to book your tour now! You will not be disappointed.

The quintessential example of the Arts and Crafts Movement, the Gamble mansion is a stunning must-see for students of this art form or for architecture enthusiasts in general. The tours are all guided and the docents are extremely well-informed about the home and building materials. Advance reservations are definitely recommended. Not really a place of interest to small children, however.

An architectural gem for lovers of Arts and Crafts and for those who enjoy architecture and local history in general. The docent was very knowledgeable and pleasant.

Only walked around the outside but a wonderful house. Came because of its connection to the Back to the Future movie, but loved the styling and craftmanship.

The house tours are informative and entertaining. A "NARM" membership provides free admission. The grounds and bookstore are free and fun to browse.

This is not just a gem in Pasadena but an important piece in architectural history, as Green&Green's house has been highly underrated in its contemporary narrative.

What a gorgeous home! I believe our tour guide was Michael, he’s been a guide for about 30 years! We did the “behind the velvet rope tour” and it was awesome to see the details and have a small group of woodworkers and wives! Highly recommend for anyone interested in architecture, local history, woodworking, joinery, design, or just a new place for for inspiration!

The house was nice but the tour guide was so boring and dry. It was like listening to a professor reading from a book.

Toured the house on a recent visit to Pasadena, such a neat place, very interesting hearing it’s history.

There's typically only one reason that most people visit this house. It's Doc Brown's house, and no, it's not a block past Maple on Riverside Drive or on John F. Kennedy Drive. There was nobody there on a Sunday, and we saw the house and the garage. Looks exactly as it did in 1985 and 1955 - not a single thing has changed. They do have Back to the Future events there from time to time, where someone will pull up with a tricked out delorean, and people can sit inside. Very cool spot.

What an amazing home! I took the tour today and enjoyed every minute of it! I especially enjoyed how each room had its own character and how much thought was put into every detail.

We tried to buy tickets well before our planned trip and everything was sold out, but we went to walk the grounds and see the exterior. Coincidentally, 2 people from another group couldn’t make it so we are able to buy their tickets, the house is so awesome! He guided tour was amazing, very insightful and she was able to answer nearly all the questions anyone had. Inside and outside has been perfectly preserved and this landmark is a must see for anyone who likes architecture!
