My husband and I were recently in this area to visit our daughter. She chose highland Park bowl as an activity for the afternoon because my husband is a bowler. The bowling Center is located in an amazing vintage building. The name on the outside is barely visible because of the original peeling paint. The inside of this Center has rooms where they host different features such as open mic night, drag shows, live bands. They also have a kitchen with a giant pizza oven for fresh made pizzas. The area with the lanes themselves has two large bars and about 8 lanes. You rent the original ugly shoes and bowl on old wooden lanes with the house bowling balls that are chipped and make the bowling more challenging. The only updated feature are automatic scoring. We ordered cocktails while there and had a lot of fun bowling. There was a child's birthday party on the next lane and the kids were loving it. I highly recommend highland Park bowl for any bowler with a love of the kitsch from days past.

Had a really good time here. It looks great in pictures, but even better in person. The drinks were really good too, as well as the food. A lot of good appetizers/finger food to eat in between turns. I went on a Thursday evening and it was a decent amount of people, but not overwhelming.

The Highland Park Bowl is such a cool place. This old-school original bowling alley, I think since the 1920’s or earlier, is on point. The vintage bowling equipment is fascinating. The drinks are reasonable and tasty and loved the bartenders. Really enjoyable, will be back to bowl!

This a a fun place and neighborhood!!!! If you haven’t been here you must. The pepperoni pizza and the cocktails are amazing, we had our company holiday party here for 3 hours and it was amazing. We all had a blast. The service is great. Jake was always very responsive to our emails while making the reservation and super helpful all the time. Making sure I was understanding all the package for a 25 party. Seriously, Don’t miss this place and don’t forget to explore the hood, it’s very cool!

Historic landmark bowling alley!! Love how it's nestled within Highland Park. The atmosphere is fun, friendly, and inviting. The food is pretty good. Service is really fun and engaging. On the weekends, there's a short burlesque type show. Love!

Not just a bowling alley. Its a stunning engineering throw back to the 20s. A stunningly beautiful venue... That you can also bowl at.

I love it here! We came on a Wednesday night, 10 PM and stay till midnight. There were plenty of other parties there, extremely friendly and accommodative staff. We were sat very close to another group and without asking, the staff moved us to our own area. Such a beautiful and vintage space to play, talk, and order food and drinks. I definitely recommend this place, and will bring out-of-town visitors here as well.

Super hip atmosphere with plenty of history and vibe. Service was excellent and prices were reasonable during happy hour. We had a party of four and waited 10 minutes for a lane. The brick oven pizza was delicious and the cold IPAs came perfectly poured. Definitely going back!

Great night of retro atmosphere and excellent food - oh, and bowling. Server was the ultimate in tending to us. Closed early for a private party - they were expecting Britney Spears and Madonna to attend. Such is life in L.A.

Oldest working bowling alley in Southern California, and such a beauty too! Would be a perfect place for a party. Food and drinks were delicious, and all you can eat😋

Very fun place for a date night! If you want to go after 7:00 pm, you should reserve beforehand to secure a spot since it can get packed. The ambience is very relaxing and they also have a delicious watermelon margarita !

Ambient lit environment that completely took me in. The wall of mechanical pin resetting was captivating. Lighting design and ethereal look that made for the most visually stunning bowling ever. Great drinks. Wonderful food choices. The best cannoli I’ve ever eaten. Highly recommend for a fun date or gathering of friends. Typically a wait on the lanes so put your name on the list. A bit $$$ but well worth it.

Great bowling, great pizza, and a good selection of drinks. Came here with a group of 11 and it was perfect for us. I really enjoyed the building, it took us back in time and I really appreciated that they kept it vintage. The pizza was a nice surprise as well, we ordered and enjoyed the Margarita pizza and alongside, it had great bowling.

Undoubtedly, the coolest bowling alley I’ve been to. I love this place. It was very lively, they provide lane side service (which was fantastic), offering delicious drinks, they even had a drag show that started around 9. Can’t wait to come back. Although, do be warned, I found the lanes very difficult! I usually put spin on my tosses, but these lanes are completely unforgivable— ball would careen into the gutter every time. But that’s on me! Anyway, check this place out (Highland Park in general is *such* a cool up and coming part of town, too). I’d advise trying to reserve a lane in advance— we walked in and the wait was ~1.5 hours (which wasn’t bad for a Friday, mind you), however, there are plenty of really cool bars on that street (including at the alley itself).

Love this place!! A little pricey but other than that I love everything about it. Went to Ichijiku Sushi for dinner after and would highly recommend that as well, some of the best sushi I ever had!

What a wonderful, fun, magical place. You'd never know it's there, but so worth the chance.

I was excited to check this place out but it was overpriced. $60 for an hour of bowling not including shoes which was an additional $5/person. The lanes did not look well maintained, the bowling balls only came in weights of 10-14lbs. Overall I had a good time and enjoyed the red sofa seats and the atmosphere but next time I’ll check out another bowling place. We also ordered the Margherita pizza 🍕. I would not order it again.

Bad service. Bland pizza needed soo much salt and extra marinara. Brussels were undercooked which is weird because I remember them being served overdone and burnt… also they have pork, beware vegetarians! Sorry my photos make this look amazing :/

Cool old-time vibes and great pizza. I had the one with portabella mushrooms and the one with arugula. Both were good. Liked the portabella one better.

I've been running around working on a tourist friendly guide for LA. I arrive and was immediately scolded for having a DSLR camera. I walk inside and everyone is snapping pictures on their phone. But I was told to keep my camera hidden.... So, not tourist friendly. Then I ordered a Moscow mule and it was served in a glass instead of copper. I can ignore that, but the flavor wasn't there either. The place looks marvelous it's a shame they won't let you take good quality pictures of the lanes.

Restored 1920's bowing alley with a craft cocktail bar. Excellent wood fired pizzas. If don't come away smiling...u must've been in bad company

Incredible atmosphere - complete with well preserved artifacts from the 20s and cleverly crafted decorations made from pin-setting machine parts. Great food - the wood oven pizza has never disappointed. Plus, a very reasonable happy hour. Kind, helpful staff - even when it's really busy. A great place for a casual drink or dinner.

We had a great night at the Highland Park Bowl. The historically preserved interior of this bowling ally is amazing! We checked in at peak hours and had to wait for about 15 minutes before our lane was ready. Not bad at all! We were able to sit at the bar and enjoy some delicious cocktails before our lane opened. After we started bowling we had an hour and played a couple games while eating some amazing food. Gourmet wood burning oven cooked pizzas with fresh ingredients. Overall we had an amazing night. I highly recommend this place and I can't wait to go again!
