I recently joined the YMCA South Pasadena and I had a terrible experience with them. The personnel are very irresponsible and their schedule for reserving lap swim is already booked for all available slots. I joined it to use the swimming pool in afternoon after work but they just offer 1 hour after 5 at 6:50-7:50 every other day, most of which are already reserved! By the way nobody mentioned that I need to reserve before each time that I use the swimming pool when I was filling their forms.

We started our membership to this Y Jan 2020, we loved the facility and it was clean and inviting for our young family. 2 months later the Start at Home order was put in place, with no idea of an end. We sadly called to cancel our membership because we needed to tighten our budget but they convinced us to put it on hold until things opened back up; we liked that solution. Without warning over a year later, they began auto charging our account. No one contacted us about it and we called to get it reversed since it wasn’t discussed but they are refusing and say they emailed us about it before hand. We have moved 3.5 hours from LA so a membership isn’t applicable anymore. They were so happy for us to sign up and make payments in the beginning but too bad they’re not as willing to help when it means they’re not getting more money. We’ve referred 3 more families since we signed up and we’re all about supporting businesses during the lockdown but we are also on a lockdown budget.

First time working out here. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Workout area is downstairs spread across two rooms. One room has all of the iso machines and the other the free weights.

Clean and nice little gym. The staff is friendly, and the members are courteous and keep the equipment clean. There are showers in the ladies locker rooms. BYO towels. The parking lot is small, but there's always street parking. There's a small room for child watch, which is excellent. My kids like it because the (childwatchers?) interact and do fun activities with them. The 3 biggest cons are: 1) They keep it toasty. It's the warmest gym I've been to. 2) Since its a really small gym, you gotta wait a bit to use popular equipment. 3) Open swim gets crowded, but only at the shallow end. If you can swim, go to the deeper end, and you're good.

It's okay. The staff at reception really don't care... I could probably walk in without a membership, and half the time they wouldn't notice. The cardio room is in the basement and is a bit crowded. It's really musty. The locker room is smellier than the average gym. The upside is that the cost is low, and they never give the hard sell that so many gyms do. The low pressure atmosphere is what I like most.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The facilities are Clean and well-maintained. The indoor cycling instructor Erick has a great energy, Mitchell (cardio) and Matt (yoga) are great, I enjoy Susanne indoor cycling, what a wonderful person she is. the daycare is a plus! The most family friendly fitness center that I have ever had the pleasure of being a member.

A mid-century modern building that has all you need to stay fit. Generous parking. Very friendly staff. They have reciprocating agents with other YMCA. Clean building and locker rooms

Not the best YMCA...super old squeaky equipment and terrible hours. Had to cancel ❌ if you're looking for a great ymca...koreatown is the best!

Staff are welcoming and very helpful. Whenever a class is canceled, the staff calls you and emails you in advance. I've been to other YMCA's like the Montebello, and staff are not professionals and are not organized. The front desk is always greeting and welcoming. We love coming to this YMCA as a family.

Clean facility with friendly staff. A bit on the smaller than other YMCA locations but still has pretty much everything except for a basketball court.
