Came here on a Saturday night after looking over what clubs Resident Advisor had listed for Mexico City. There was a little confusion at the door despite the fact that I had bought tickets but if you're polite, speak enough Spanish to get by, and worst case message the club on whatsapp, it all gets resolved. Security is pretty tight but they are just doing their jobs. Again, just be polite. It's not a big deal. I think a lot of complaints on here are coming from entitled Americans. Its a small club; come here for the music, don't expect special treatment, and it's a good time. Bottle service is a rip off everywhere, not just here. Were you over charged for your drinks? Maybe but given how far the USD goes here, it really isn't that serious. Also yeah, of course it is loud and hot/sweaty. It's a techno club. Get some hi-fi ear plugs. They are like $40 and are worth the investment. Drink lots of water and take breaks. This all seems so basic.

We initially saw online the place opened at 9pm, went around 10pm. Were told by security that they opened at 11pm bc we didn’t have reservations. Went to another bar then came back at 11pm only to be told by security they opened at 11:15pm. I asked security what time they actually opened bc every time we went the time changed. He had a blank stare— after reading the reviews it made sense. Glad we didn’t give them our business.

I’m leaving the review in English so more people can understand me how xenofobic and ridiculous is this place, I know I’m Colombian but that doesn’t mean they can check even my menstrual cup (?) being with other 8 women in line and nobody else being checked as me (?) also the woman from the closet room she wanted to charge me 35 extra besides my bag for an umbrella which is ridiculous, she was rude and very impolite I bet she would not treat any European or American like this. The music is fine but is not that good even, don’t expect a real electrónic or rave party here… just average music and enviroment for the price is not worthy

I will be writing this review in English since most of their clientele are foreigners. Bar oriente, previously known as "Rhodesia" is one of the best known entertainment venues in the electronic scene in Mexico City. It remains avant-garde for its "modern" aesthetics and always has exclusive DJs and an ambience totally enviable of any club in Mexico City. However, the praise for this place ends there. You can tell that they always try to have that "trendy club" façade with exhorbitant drink prices (approximately 80 MXN for a 350 mL beer or bottles for more than 1800 MXN) and constant demands by the waiters to tip. Sure, the music is good and the atmosphere is fun but this place is one of the pillars of the "Condesa" where if you speak English and are white/Caucasian they will serve you better, faster and with a smile on their face; it even seems that if you are Mexican or Latin American, they would prefer you to go somewhere else. If you are a foreigner, you probably love this place and say "How nice is Mexico, very cheap and friendly to foreigners" but this club is a bubble of what nightlife in Mexico City is really like. Don't get carried away by appearances or word-of-mouth popularity, there are better and cheaper places to listen to electronic music, have fun, drink and socialise with Mexicans. EDIT: Recently, there has been some acussations that the owners are sexual offenders. Just be careful.

Skip this. Average, stinky and noisy. The staff is the worst around. Rude, they don't know how to serve drinks, try to over charge at any oportunity and deny to print tickets. Extremely noisy more than 120 decibels. Bad ventilation, smells like sewage and cigarrete smoke

---- Cuidado con este bar / Be careful with this bar ---- The bartender charged me double thinking I was drunk and I would not find out. When I show her that she charged me 4 cocktails instead of it, she denied it. I had to show my bank statement proof and even with that she would not believe it. It just show that she did it on purpose. I had to ask the manager that finally gave me back the money. They try to rob gringos. RUn away

Generally good atmosphere. Nonetheless, the waiters will try to rip you off by charging you extra tips. This is done by charging bottles at a higher cost than list price. This becomes evident on the receipt when you have already paid. Watch out during your visit.

The staff here is absolutely amazing! Ask for Saul and tell them Mateo/Matthew sent you. This place is so much fun. The pro tip is to go to the reggae room upstairs. The Lady at the bar will take amazing care of you as you jam to the most recent raggaeton hits.

It was our first night in CDMX. This place is recommended by many websites. Once we got there there was a line and they told us to wait at the other side of the street since we didn't have tickets like everyone else. A couple of more people came to our side as well. The entrance fee was 750 pesos per person. After 20-25 mins we asked again when they let us in. They said sometime later. It was rude and as a whole we left this place. So, my recommendation is going there while having a ticket.

Cover was a little pricey at 150 pesos a head. Friday night vibe was so so. Expected a lot more people. Live music + DJ was pretty sweet, just never really filled out. Cool space with interesting lighting. Slightly low ceilings at places so watch your head if you're 6'4+. Did not eat here so review is only on post-dinner party vibes.

Me and my buddy get to the club at 10:45 and even though on Google it says “open” they didn’t open until 11pm. So we wait and come back and then get turned away because we didn’t have a “reservation”. There was hardly any people in sight! It was also a Wednesday. Cmon, this place can do better.

Over priced drinks. On top of that they're not that good. Very small place, there is no space to dance. Service is also not good at all. Music is very good tho but I really didn't enjoy myself. Definitely won't go again.

One of the best underground electronic music clubs in Mexico city. Void sound system and a strong programming of noteworthy local and international artists. Nice pretty crowd. People come to dance and let themselves go. Drinks are on the expensive side but appropriate for the setting and relative low cover charge.

I was shaking my stuff on the dance floor when the filthy bass hit me so hard I flew into a table. Wait, why is there a table on the dance floor? That's like bringing a pinata to a bull fight. Would have been 5* with less tables. 👍

The music was incredible, I loved every DJ that was on stage that day. The only thing is that it was super hot inside and perhaps having better ventilation could make the experience cooler.

DO NOT GO! THEY STEAL! On Saturday, February 21, 2024, my wallet and cell phone were stolen inside the bar. I immediately notified the bar staff and at the same time the same thing had happened to another person. The people who robbed us were still inside and had been identified by the other person who was robbed. The bar staff searched those who were identified. Then they questioned whether we had been robbed. We asked for any protocol for these cases and they informed us that they did not have one. I have already heard of several similar cases before. We asked to call a patrol but they didn't listen to us. It is a place with little security control. I would not go back.

Nice place, but a bit small and someone got the great idea of making it even smaller by putting tables right on the dance floor.. it results on everyone being jammed towards the bar, which further blocks people who want to get a drink there… oh yes, and the bar service is extremely slow. At least the bouncers were friendly and good line up.

Djs weren't that good, mediocre I would say. Drink are too expensive for the place, people in their 20's so the vibe is for newbies, not a very good proposal.

On the shots floor on February 25, 2024, they never attended to me after 30 minutes. I preferred to leave. It's not what Rhodesia was even though it tries to be :/

What is there to say about this place? The staff is amazing, very friendly and respectful. Prices are fair, especially for this location. The people who go there are always in a good mood and are there to dance. And obviously the music is the best part: the DJs that come here are top notch and the sound system they play on is a dream. It is by far my favorite club in the city. P.S.: They took care of my jacket when I left it there and had it waiting for me when I returned a week later. Thanks again!

I paid for bottle service and they allowed all my things to get stolen. Zero remorse. Blamed me. Absolute trash establishment. Do not come here. Not worth your time. Way too small. The wait staff is terrible.
