I
will
be
writing
this
review
in
English
since
most
of
their
clientele
are
foreigners.
Bar
oriente,
previously
known
as
"Rhodesia"
is
one
of
the
best
known
entertainment
venues
in
the
electronic
scene
in
Mexico
City.
It
remains
avant-garde
for
its
"modern"
aesthetics
and
always
has
exclusive
DJs
and
an
ambience
totally
enviable
of
any
club
in
Mexico
City.
However,
the
praise
for
this
place
ends
there.
You
can
tell
that
they
always
try
to
have
that
"trendy
club"
façade
with
exhorbitant
drink
prices
(approximately
80
MXN
for
a
350
mL
beer
or
bottles
for
more
than
1800
MXN)
and
constant
demands
by
the
waiters
to
tip.
Sure,
the
music
is
good
and
the
atmosphere
is
fun
but
this
place
is
one
of
the
pillars
of
the
"Condesa"
where
if
you
speak
English
and
are
white/Caucasian
they
will
serve
you
better,
faster
and
with
a
smile
on
their
face;
it
even
seems
that
if
you
are
Mexican
or
Latin
American,
they
would
prefer
you
to
go
somewhere
else.
If
you
are
a
foreigner,
you
probably
love
this
place
and
say
"How
nice
is
Mexico,
very
cheap
and
friendly
to
foreigners"
but
this
club
is
a
bubble
of
what
nightlife
in
Mexico
City
is
really
like.
Don't
get
carried
away
by
appearances
or
word-of-mouth
popularity,
there
are
better
and
cheaper
places
to
listen
to
electronic
music,
have
fun,
drink
and
socialise
with
Mexicans.
EDIT:
Recently,
there
has
been
some
acussations
that
the
owners
are
sexual
offenders.
Just
be
careful.
