El lugar está enfocado al turismo y en consecuencia los platillos típicos son costosos y el sazón no es extraordinario, pero la experiencia de conocer el lugar es interesante. La amabilidad en el servicio es notoria. En general, buen lugar, nada extraordinario

La Gruta was the best restaurant ever! The experience was absolutely amazing and I will not say “once in a lifetime” because we will DEFINITELY be back! The candle lighting was an amazing ceremony as well! I feel the food was amazing and I highly recommend the turkey mole plate! Absolutely delicious and SO flavorful! I can’t wait to come back and totally pig out again! Eating inside of a cave was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! Love it!!!

Beautiful place, I been there 4 times and would go back each time I am in México city. The best! Worth the wait time.

Came in here for a drink and were told that we had to order food in order to have one drink each...fine. We ordered guacamole which looked and tasted good, but left so much of it because none of us was hungry. What a waste of food, time and money. The drinks were good, but not stellar good. We can't speak on the other dishes, but they looked good when waiters passed by with them for other tables. The waitress we had lacked personality and spoke in a monotone voice when she shared what seemed like a script. It was painful to hear and watch. Meh! The highlight is definitely the location and the atmosphere. It is just lovely and it felt great after being in the hot sun for over 6 hours. We will definitely be going back for another try.

Great place the restaurant is located inside a cave and that alone gives it a beautiful view. The food was amazing had the flautas and the pan de elote freshly made. The Tamarindo drink was great but a bit sweet. Wonderful place to visit if you are heading to the pirámides.

Very nice restaurant and experience. Ricardo was super attentive and friendly. Quick and professional service. Food was very nice tasting and high quality. Bathrooms were exceptionally clean and tidy. Prices are a bit too high.

Myself and business colleagues had a great late lunch here. Shared starter of pig skin and guacamole was great, my meatballs in tomatoes sauce were fantastic and my colleagues steaks were polished off quickly. Great atmosphere in the cave and service was ok given how busy they were due to the rain.

Pros: Gorgeous and unique location - this is worth going alone. It’s cool (nice relief from the sunny pyramids), gorgeous and very sanitary inside. Service is friendly. Cons: no bathroom (?!), and the food is very mediocre. Very limited vegetarian options - tried the quesadillas (lukewarm and bland), corn soup (corn was very tough) and guacamole (this was good). I’d recommend just getting drinks and guac.

This place is a must go when in Mexico. We went to see the pyramids and on the way out stopped at this restaurant inside a cave! The food is AMAZING! Anything you order is so delicious! The atmosphere is indescribable. The staff is great and overall an unforgettable experience. Thank you La Gruta!

This place is a great experience but you need to come with an open mind on food. I would not call this Mexican food but more indigenous inspired. The chicken mole and the green mole were both absolutely delicious! The serve homemade corn tortillas so you can make little tacos if you want. We also ordered the molecajete and corn soup, both of which were not impressive. The salsas they provide are also yummy. The dessert was a chocolate like cake with guava ice cream. This was so light, complex in flavor and a nice surprise.

1000% Mexican! Very authentic Mexican food in a super unique surrounding. The restaurant is located in a huge cave close to Teotihuacan pyramids. It's a legendary place where former rulers used to come and pray for the rain. Drum music reminds today about these times. A table booking is recommended.

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. I thought it would be a gimmicky tourist attraction but I was wrong! A friend from Mexico City told me not to skip it, I’m glad I didn’t . The food was great! Drinks were delicious, tortillas were fresh hand made and the myth was neat.

This place has an amazing vibe and a cool story behind it. The food was good. The service was great, I ordered beef fajitas, and even though they didn't have it on the menu, they made it for me.

Excellent food with exotic dishes like the "chapulines" and egg's ants. The "Mole de la Gruta" dish was amazing! Very beautiful cave and okay service. Really recommend this place if you want to have a nice and different experience!

This restaurant is absolutely stunning even for this second time I've been. I've been here before for their entrees which were underwhelming so this time we went for drinks and appetizers which was perfect. Starting with the cocktails, the horchata cocktail and the prickly pear margarita on the rocks were excellent. The blended mango Margarita was too much like a smoothie. The guacamole with chicharorrones and the turkey and cricket sopes were also delicious as appetizers.

This place was always in my wishlist and finally I got a chance to go visit and eat there. Eating inside the cave was really a nice experience. We went to this place in the weekdays and there was waiting time of 15 minutes. The food we ordered was delicious and I really enjoyed the soup and the fresh colorful homemade tortillas. The star of the restaurant is their chocolate lava cake with guava ice cream dessert. The staff is really helpful. Service was kind of slow. Highly recommended!

Great for Carnivores, not so good for veggies and vegans - only one main choice which for committed veggies is not a choice at all. For meat eaters there is plenty of choice including more unusual options such as caterpillars or grasshoppers. Situated inside a cave it's definitely atmospheric and the staff were fast and friendly. This place has interesting, romantic, charming atmosphere. You are having your meal right inside the cave so it really worse it. You need to wait a little bit because it a lot of tourist here and everyone wants to visit it. The food was good (not really spicy what's unusual for Mexico), service could be more faster but overall it was good. Prepare your wallet because it's a pricey place but you should visit it. In the end of your meal you can put a candle inside the cave, very interesting tradition which is kinda cool. Recommended!

The ambience and location is beautiful! Very Serene peaceful and quiet. A very lovely place to go for a meal while seeing the ruins. The good itself was okay, a little lacking in flavor but good.

We heard about this place thanks to our guide. The localisation of the restaurant is very amazing. You have to wait to get a table but everything is smoothly manage to offer you a quick wait. When you are sit at your table, your waiter takes time to share with you the legend of the place and how it works. Our very bad mark is about the food. We took different dishes (four) to try and none of us were satisfy. The quality could be better and the price are very expensive.
