Watercolor isn't as popular and this museum is simply a gem among other collections not only for the large size of the collection but varied artists that you will find. The exterior of the main galleries is also very peaceful and there is a small auditorium for showings too.

a tad small, not crowded, free entry (donations welcome of course) although you have to pay 50 pesos for a photography permit i think, the rooms dedicated to prehispanic and 19th century art are absolutely precious though small, the museum cafe is well-priced (amusing to see gangs of sparrows nibble tortilla crisps), there are also a few stone statues/sculptures around (based on prehispanic styles eg mayan) which are quite lovely as well it definitely takes less than an hour to finish going through the museum, leaving you time to explore other museums in the area personally i think watercolour is an expressive medium for depicting qualities of light and colour, such as the unfathomable gentleness of white-pink roses. it also lends itself to styles such as abstract art and cubism. overall worth a visit

It’s such a beautiful museum to stop by if you are visiting Coyoacán. They have a very nice collection of water colors. Their gardens are gorgeous too!! Little hidden gem.

Beautiful museum. The prehistoric exhibit was my favorite, really interesting to see them recreate these paintings with ancient methods! Information is also available in English. Free entry but you need to pay 50 pesos to take pictures. I recommend grabbing a coffee at the cafeteria next to the ticket booth and enjoying the garden views!

One of the most beautiful and unknown museums in the city, a hidden jewel. It's free and it's hardly crowded.

This place is amazing for anyone who’s a watercolor enthusiast. The collection features different techniques and styles from mexican artists as well as international, that are a great inspiration and helps you discover more of what you can do with watercolors. The gardens are gorgeous too, and great for spending a little time sitting outside.

Beautiful and tranquil grounds and an amazing collection of watercolor art. All my favorite pieces there are by the maestro himself Alfredo Guati Rojo. Extra points because there's an adorable cat who lives in the garden here. Would love to come back and take a class some time!

A colorful house hosting beautiful acuarelas, temporary galleries, courses and events. A surprising place hidden in the limits of the old town of Coyoacan. A house of graphical creativity that drips living rainbows from static fabrics.

50 pesos to take pictures is absurd. Nice place but that's honestly gouging.
