Hidden gem with hardly any crowds even on a weekend, amazing views and free entry- possibly open 24 hours. Here is all the info I wish I had before going but was unable to find from any review, website, blog or in videos about the place. The main access is from a street called Nezahualpilli, there are a couple of parking lots that charge 40 mxn per car and 20 mxn for bikes, unlimited time. The roads to reach the point are in great condition, the whole town of San Nicolas Tlaminca is very clean and has stone/concrete streets. After parking, a steep path goes staight up, part stone steps, part uneven rock. It reaches a point, which is the confluence of several paths. To the left, a long flat path along the “ garden” ( where an ancient botanical garden was) to a large bath which is a great viewpoint to the archeological site on top of the hill. Retrace steps back to the base of the hill. One can go up to the archeological site and down or later. Then there is the path that goes circumferentially around the hill in an oval shape. I would suggest going clockwise around for the best views. One sees the “ baño del rey” and then the “ baño de la reina” which is the eastern point of the oval circumferential route around the hill. Here, one can choose to go one of 3 ways. There are steps to the left, going down to the Tlaminca town which one can walk through to reach the parking again. There is a rocky path up the hill to the archeological zone on top and one can descend to the other side on the west. The third option is to continue clockwise on the circular path around the north, back to the start point, ascend up the hill or descend back down to the car. Allow about 2 hours for the entire walk. Sturdy shoes that have soles with a good grip are recommended to climb over the rocks. Children under 5 might find the paths difficult. There are several mounds of red ants all over the place so hiking sandals not recommended. Lots of greenery and colourful flowers and cacti bushes bearing the red tuna fruit in July. There are no toilets on site. Best place to stop for refreshments and sanitary facilities would be the Molino de flores national park, 4 km away, on the way back to Mexico city or Texcoco.

Not that easy to get to - had to hike up from the main avenue of the town and there's not a lot of signs or actual paths. But it was worth the visit. It's big and it's totally free. Not for people with mobility issues.

Don't go here until the Corona madness is over. Both museums are closed and you can see the famous feathered snake heads only from far. I come especially for those so my visit was a sad one.

This place was considered a palace over 600 years ago, builded by Nezahualcoyotl. this place is unguarded and a little bit isolated. but its in quite enought good shape for remembrance of prehispanic times... if you like to know more about mexican culture you may include this quick stop.

(Translated by Google) I am missing words to describe the place, for seasons it is really beautiful, you feel that pre-Hispanic past in the air only surpassed by the wonderful natural and spiritual landscapes of it, as a point of note is that as a visitor people only see you for your money and rarely people (if you ask of course) share the history of the place.

(Translated by Google) Excellent place to enjoy the panoramic view of the Valley of Mexico. Learn from the history of the poet King Nezahualcóyotl with his engineering to trace his aqueducts and design his hanging gardens, baths, altars. Enjoy the walk and breathe fresh air. In summer and autumn, the flowery landscape. No littering. (Original) Excelente lugar para disfrutar de la panorámica del valle de México. (Translated by Google) It is always important to know where we come from, to know where we are going. Knowing our culture is essential to accept and feel proud of our ancestors (although there are some who lack common sense, a "buuuu" for those who think of graffiti history). This is an archaeological zone with little or almost nothing known and little diffusion, and by the way little or almost no interest and care on the part of the authorities in charge of caring for and preserving our archaeological remains, however despite all the bad it is a place It is soooooo worth visiting, for all those who like hiking, mountain hiking or just adventure. Breathe fresh air and have before your eyes the majesty that past rulers enjoyed. A little piece of heaven within our reach. Tip, there is no surveillance so it is preferred to visit it on weekends or in groups.

👍👍 It is a site where there are archaeological remains, the so-called "Throne of the King", it is a beautiful place with a panoramic view, they have a plateau where physical activities can be carried out, there are even cyclists enjoying the view and the steep terrain. 🥰👍
