Beautiful mountain. With its summit resting at 18,491 feet / 5,636 meters, Pico de Orizaba is the highest point in all of México. Summiting this volcano is a considerable challenge, one that will give you perspective into your own capabilities and will build confidence to reach higher summits. Climbers should have basic snow and ice-climbing skills and should be comfortable with glacier travel, which includes moving in a rope team, self arrest, and basic crevasse rescue. Basic knowledge and experience would be required for objectives with some rock climbing. It's magical experiance.

6 hours up, 3.5 hours down. Went with an Explore-Share 3Summits guide: Gilgamesh who did a good job. Of the two groups that set out for peak that day only ours made it, in discussions with locals, they estimate a 40% rate of success.

Beautiful alpine climb, great views from the summit. Beware of ice on the glacier and crevasses.

Without a doubt , camping here has been one of the highlights of my whole life, beautiful, rugged, ever-changing, this national park has a special kind of magic for the seeker of the extreme and the wild at heart.

Fantastically fun and an easy single day push just give yourself time to acclimate. Orizaba Mountain Guides can arrange everything from fuel to water to guides and their hacienda is wonderful. Highly recommend this mountain.

A must for every Alpine climber. Amazing place to hike and climb. Highest mountain in México. The Piedra Grande shelter offers a place to stay the night before the ascent. A wonderful place.

Beautiful spot for a long hike. Also, if you have a 4×4 vehicle you can drive almost to the top.

Please only attempt with experience in mountaineering. If you have previously felt how it's like to slip on Ice/snow then by all means, it is a great mountain and a bit of a challenge when you have never dealt with 45 degree slopes for at least a solid hour.
