Nice place and high historic value in this place. If you go to Teotihuacán, you should visit this place too. IT May not seem very impressive at the beginning, but it has some interesting things to see, check it out.

Since you are so nearby after visiting Teotihuacan, it is worth a quick visit to see a very different style of religious architecture to the ones common in Europe during the same period. It also has some different elements not present in Europe like open Chapels needed because the indigenous population could not access the church since they hadn't been baptized.

We were lucky to stop by here. I happen to spot the convent from the freeway and my driver noticed me taking pictures. He was kind enough to pull off and let my wife and friends visit this historical building which was built about 800 years ago according to our native driver. If you have time, try to take a short detour to visit.

This former convent is located about 15 minutes from the Pyramids of Teotihuacán, easily visible from the highway that leads to the latter. It’s construction initially finished in the 1560s it is one of the oldest extant samples of hybridized indigenous and European architectural styles. It stands at the entry of the current town of Acolman. The main church hall is deceptively spacious and very peaceful. I went in on a hot May day. The convent buildings provided a great respite from the oppressive heat. The groundskeepers will usually answer most questions you may have. There’s exhibits pertaining to the early days of the Viceroyalty of New Spain. A highly recommended stop if you have time to spare.

Incredible!! Rich in history. A trip back in time to the 1800s. It gives you a glimpse on how the frairs lived and worked. You still can see their rooms and the church. Amazing experience!!!
