This is one of my favorite Thousand Trails campground locations. It is peaceful and quite since it is located in a little valley off the highway 120, and the best part is that it is right on the Tuolumne River! It’s also only 6 miles from the Yosemite gate… just a hop, skip and jump to my favorite place in California. The facilities are clean and work well, plus the staff is very friendly. If you’re in a bind, just throw up the bat signal and Levi and Jon will come to your rescue! They happily opened up their shop to me when my battery died while having a flat tire. They saved my day and trip… I’ll definitely be back here soon!

We stayed in our trailer so I can't rate the rooms. Our spot has no issues with the water power or the sewer, and the site was level enough that we didn't have to work hard to get the trailer level. The park wasn't full so even though the sites are somewhat close together everyone was spread out and there was lots of space. The site had a fire ring and management allowed fires so that was a welcome change. The scenery is great. Lots of trees and a running creek. There are a few trails to walk without much effort exerted. There is a space for basketball, pickleball, miniature golf, a kids playground and other things that I'm sure I am forgetting. The lodge seems brand new. Lots of places to relax, a couple pool tables, a foosball table, and what I think is a shuffleboard table. I'm not sure since it was covered up. There seemed to be at least three crafts every day which ended up being a great way to relax and meet the other campers. The activities were free with the supplies provided by the campground, and led by a lady who really knew what she was doing and always ready to help out if we missed a step or didn't quite get it right. When we initially checked in, it was on a Thursday, so we didn't have to wait in a line, and it wasn't especially memorable. The next day, is a different story. We went into Yosemite to enjoy the trails, waterfalls and ranger led walks. On our way back to camp, we got into an accident and the truck could no longer drive. When we managed to get back to the campground, the front office worked with us to get a tow truck, make sure we could extend our stay until the truck was fixed, and pretty much give us a few less things to worry about. Thank you Thousand Trails - Yosemite Lakes personnel for one of the best stays despite the stressful car accident.

If Yosemite N.P. and the surrounding area is your destination this is your campground! Just a few miles from the west gate on Ca 120, this well maintained park has amazing views and wicked friendly staff. On site store, and nearby Groveland has good shopping options too. Larger sites, gravel pads, fire pits and Picnic tables. Mix of 50amp and 30amp FHU sited. Great hiking and walking trails, cabins are well set up as well. The roads around the campground do need maintenance and there is NO cell service, but great Starlink service. Definitely check out Hardin Flats road and the ride to Cherry Lake!

Hillside Campsites are AWFUL. Most of the tent pads are really really sloped. The sites are very close together- I'd say about 10 feet between tent pads. Many sites had fire rings in weird places like in the tent pad, next to/under the table, stacked with other rings, etc. It just looked like no one was taking care of it. The bathrooms are nice, but they aren't restocked or cleaned enough. I gave 3 stars for location because it's still an hour to Curry Village, etc where everyone wants to go and because the Hillside area is close enough to get road noise. There was a large event that rented out an entire area and had a really loud dance party till 11:30pm. No warning was given to us by Thousand Trails at any point. So, renters beware. At that price point we'll never go back.

Super great location for Yosemite National Park, and the little gas station store up on top of the hill is really convenient. It's a beautiful park and we stayed 4 nights. The wifi is the same as all Thousand Trails, where you have to buy Jabba and pick a package. I advise you get the weekly package just because the wifi works better that way. The laundry room is great but closes kind of early, so it makes it difficult to do laundry at night after exploring the area all day. We came during off season and heard nothing but about how crazy it is during the Summer season. The playground is great for kids and we saw some great sunsets! This place didn't try to pitch us a membership ever, but I'm not sure if that was just because it was off season or if we were never "home". Love Thousand Trails, and this spot is a keeper!

Hidden gem just about 10 minutes away from the Yosemite entrance! The campsites are very well maintained, almost every site has its own water spigot. There are actual restrooms with showers and an outdoor sink for washing dishes. Small river dividing the entire site, perfect for cooling down! The playground and and mini golf area were a hit with my family. Will definitely be returning!

Unfortunately, the only thing positive we can say about this campground is its proximity to Yosemite, which is about five miles from the gate. This location was dirty with trash around, bathrooms were dirty, there was one person trying to check everybody in and he was rude. Even when the office is supposed to be open, we found it to be closed at times. It’s clear they are trying to do everything on the cheap. The laundry room had multiple machines that were down including coin machines, and laundry detergent dispensers. This required us to go to that same rude office person to get change. He advised us upon check-in that there was a mountain lion “in residence” that had killed multiple dogs that had stayed in the campground. We definitely will never come back here. What a disappointment.

My family and I stayed there at the end of October. The campground was very close to Yosemite and the facilities were very clean. They also had a lot of events that I was not expecting. S’mores night, musicians playing music around a campfire, etc. great for kids. I also have to add that they had the BEST “haunted house”. Let me add that I hate haunted houses and pop out scary stuff. Sharni did a great job at making a family friendly haunted house that my 5 year old LOVED! She had so many cool decorations and she was there to guide us through the house. Such a wonderful surprise to see that and I hope they have it next year when we go back.
