Most beautiful Island in the Dominican Republic. We took a catamaran excursion from Punta Cana which took us first to El Limon waterfall and to this island later. Amazing crystal clear beach with beautiful colors. It's a magical place with some great restaurants and gift shops for souvenirs. It is about 10 minutes boat ride from Samana. It was off-season when we went to this island but I heard it's great for whale-watching in February. The people were friendly and it was not so crowded. One of the best beaches of my life and I would definitely go back to this place if I ever go to the Dominican Republic.

Cool beach in a small island near Samaná. Just a 10 min boat ride from a near coastal town. You should definitely negotiate the boat price. They will usually charge you 30-50 USD per person, but if you are a big group you should not pay more than 100 USD total for a one way ride. At the beach there are a lot of salesman offering everything from renting snorkeling gear, to food and drinks, to cigars, to pictures with a parrot. It’s a little to much, they are approaching one very often. If you would like to go, I recommend to go before lunch. It gets busy after lunch

Amazing white sand, clean beaches. $6 pinacoloda drinks in real pineapples. We paid 1200 pesos (~$24) per person for a round trip boat ride to the island. We had over ten people in our group.

I very cool and unique island area. We took a small boat here to the island after a whale watching tour. The views are amazing and the beach is fantastic. There is some delicious places to have lunch on the island as well. There are also vendors that sell look art and gifts but they can be a little pushy but that's true throughout the carribean.

Beautiful Beach with calm and relazing waters. Vendors pushing sales is annoying when your trying to relax, but they dont come into the water :) Enjoyed this beach very much Vancity Adventure

Not worth a visit. Filled with scammers and garbage all around. Water is full of jellyfish which got my wife stung. PS. I saw a couple lose their wedding ring. I don't think they will like la playa either.

Pleasant boat trip . Beach ok with sharp drop off as you wade into the sea. Beach recliners aer for rent, and the beach traders are a nuisance. Pretty beach with snorkeling opportunities although visibility was not pristine.

Nice beach we visit as part of a tour. We travelled by boot, but you could go by car. There is a hotel, but we did not stay there. Most tours offer a lunch buffet, which was simple but good. You can order some drinks at the bar and enjoy the beach. They also have options for diving yourself or by boot. The boot drove to a place where it was kind of hard to swim. But diving yourself at the beach was nice. They have a public toilet, but it's not that clean. There are also a lot of small shops and sales men walking around, which is not anoying but they will approach you ;)

Samana Town Beach ~ Playa Cayacoa
Beach
👍 Actually, Playa Cayacoa is the main beach for the visitors of the hotel Gran Bahia Cayacoa. This hotel is there up on the cliff. Special is that to get to the beach there’s a special elevator downwards. The beach itself is not that large. It is not for long beach walks. But it is very suitable for...
