👍👍 Great place for souvenirs, hammocks, blankets, hats and all kinds of recuerdos. I found a coffee mug that I liked, but I wanted it to have El Salvador written on it. The young lady told me that she had made them herself and sat down and painted it on while I waited. For the people that say these gif... People often mention souvenirs, Salvador, prices, market, nice, products, people, Great, shopping, variety,

Most of the craft sold here are indeed Chinese products that the sellers take off the tags. This is shameful. Chinese hats, made of synthetic fiber, are sold as craft. Of course, there are honest sellers here, but they will lose clients if most of the stands are not following ethical standards. I am not saying that Chinese products shouldn't be sold at a craft market, but that the vendors must be honest and transparent about the origin of the products. El Salvador is in a process to become attractive to international tourism. The efforts of the government to fight criminal groups are admirable. These efforts may be undermined by dishonest vendors. I do not recommend it.

Great place for souvenirs, hammocks, blankets, hats and all kinds of recuerdos. I found a coffee mug that I liked, but I wanted it to have El Salvador written on it. The young lady told me that she had made them herself and sat down and painted it on while I waited. For the people that say these gifts are made in China I know mine was hand painted by Salvadorans!

Excellent little market with lots of shops selling traditional El Salvadoran and Mayan souvenirs. We were there on a Monday, so it was quiet. I was impressed with the politeness of the vendors, encouraging us to buy but not being loud or demanding. We found the kind of products here that we liked, the type that give a feel of the culture. Especially impressed with the colorful paintings.

Super cute market with many handmade valuables. Reasonable prices and friendly merchants. They were closing but stayed opened until we walked through just incase they could make a last sell which many did.

Great market, felt 100% safe traveling alone here. They don't speak much English, but my calculator on my phone was all I needed to negotiate a bargain. Real El Salvadorian gifts to bring home

So many brightly colored, cool, beautiful trinkets that make great gifts and souvenirs. Everyone at the market is friendly and eager to assist in their shop. Some stalls will take a card for a purchase over a certain amount but in general it's cash only and they struggled to find enough change, so remember to bring cash in small bills!

Great market, I spent half an hour shopping here. Great selection, reasonable prices, safe. Sadly once I had just about finished my purchases a security guard approached and started making trouble about masks. Had he not been there to irritate customers and prevent them comfortably shopping then I would have given 5 stars. It is utter insanity to employ and pay someone to make the shopping environment worse for customers. If certain mentally sick people have unfounded delusions of invisible deadly viruses that can be stopped with paper-thin masks, they should seek treatment and not impose their nonsense on others. Local government or whoever is in charge of security needs to replace this idiot with someone who helps rather than irritates the people who fund his salary.

If you are looking for all things El Salvador, this is a good place to come. From Nayib Buquele coffee cups to fridge magnets, maracas, tshirts, hammocks and everything in between, you will find things here. Before you buy, so ask what the price is, or if you know Spanish, you can say: a cuanto sale? By saying so, you are telling them, what’s your best price. Place is safe and very close to hipster zona rosa.

A must go when visiting San Salvador. They have beautifully handcrafted El Salvadorian souvenirs but they are NOT cheap. The shop owners are willing to negotiate though... enjoy!

Very nice marker for souvenirs. The market is compact yet full of variety. It would take max 1-1.5 hours to go to each store.

THE best place to do all your Salvi souvenir shopping. Although if you don't have something specific in mind you'll have the merchants all over you as you browse the stalls but that's just the culture so be prepared for that.

I found it to be a quite nice place, some things were a little overpriced but the vast majority were super affordable and with a great variety of souvenirs and souvenirs from El Salvador...

I'm a tourist visiting from US. I was able to get a bunch of little trinkets for my co workers. Reasonably priced compared to other places. You can negotiate a little buy don't get carried away, these are very poor hard working people. Maybe ask for a couple bucks below the selling price. I got a towel for $15 and a couple jerseys with the ES logo for $20 each. At the Centro historico, those same jerseys were $28. I'd return to buy more.

This place is the best when it comes to buying souvenirs. Small but you will find what you are looking for from shot glasses to keychains, shirts, machetes, aprons, etc.. Make sure you always haggle and ask for a lower price as they tend to price things a little higher. It's in a very busy street in San Salvador and it's about 40min to an hour away from the airport, really depends on traffic, but so worth it.

Colorful tourist market. You’ll basically find the same things at the different stands but it is a beautiful little walk through the well-arranged market.

This was the best souvenir shopping experience EVER! Very clean and the layout allows the breeze to flow freely. The place is much larger than it appears. This place could have gotten all my money but my husband dragged me away. It was worth battling the San Salvador City traffic to get to.

Perfect place for any souvenir you can imagine. Certainly a one stop shop for all handmade gifts. I'm sure they add a little tourist tax but even so everything is fairly priced. Very friendly vendors. There's a little restaurant here where you can buy a drink or a little food. I got a whole home cooked meal and a coke for $5. Bathrooms here as well. Be sure to plan to spend at least 2 hours here. It's not a big place but it is packed to the brim with amazing finds and it takes time to look through everything.

Nice little marketplace that you don't have people shouting at you for your business. Everything is negotiable!!! They have a nice little smoothie stand too. They sell everything from t-shirts to shot glasses. They have hands made pots and paintings. Bracelets and shotglasses. Flags and hammocks too. I picked up a few key chains and a nice machete.

They have a lot of cool souvenirs but you have to bargain a little.better to go here and support locals than to the airport shops.

Why y'all white people complaining about another country? If y'all don't agree with their safety measures; well go back to your country like y'all tells us to do. Y'all don't have to visit El salvador nor try to change or impose your crazy Bs on them.

If you're looking for great souvenirs from El Salvador, this market should be the only place to go. There are many stands here with helpful people that will find exactly what you're looking for. It's better to check with every stand first as someone will give you a better deal than the first stand you go too. I bought towels, wooden toys, and other decorations and they are all well made

Cute market with gifts from local artists. They sell clothing, hammocks, religious artwork, coffee, and jewelry. Lots of other items too. They have public bathrooms that are very clean but be sure to bring your own toilet paper.

Beautiful National Craft Markets. One of the best markets in San Salvador. All the crafts are so colorful and vibrant. Simply beautiful 😍. A lot of the art crafts and painting 🖼 can be wrapped up with bubble wraps and can be shipped to your home directly. I had some of purchases sent to my home.

Great place to pick up items that are crafted in El Salvador. Be sure to shop around all the vendors as many of them carry similar products so better prices can be found. There's a parking lot available there too.

Very nice market an plenty of souvenirs to buy and affordable prices

  • 5/5 Chelsea F. 10 months ago on Google
Definitely worth the visit. It’s best to go right after lunch rather than waiting until later in the day or after 3pm due to traffic in the area. You’ll can easily do all your souvenir shopping here so expect to spend about 2 hours at a minimum.
