The complex was designed by architects Óscar Reyes and Kurt Schulze, and is currently part of the area that includes the Museum of Art of El Salvador. It consists of a Plaza de Banderas delimited by a curved wall on the west side; A mural stands out on the esplanade showing the figure of a naked man with his arms raised representing the "new Salvadoran people." The silhouette—colloquially called El Chulón—is composed of stones from different regions of the country. The work was created by the Mexican Claudio Cevallos and his wife, the Salvadoran Violeta Bonilla, a student of the muralist Diego Rivera. In the creation, a cauldron with a votive lamp was projected, and below the figure the then recent Political Constitution of 1950 would be displayed. On the other hand, the construction is accompanied by a sculpture with the name "Allegory to the Constitution of 1950" or "Monument to Freedom", where you can see a group of carvings that represent a worker, a mother with her son, a girl, two other female sculptures, a soldier with his rifle pointing at the ground and another female image holding the 1950 Constitution; The entire set holds a naked woman covered with the flag of El Salvador. Its author was the Costa Rican-Mexican Francisco Zúñiga.

Built in 1955 and located at the end of La Revolución Avenue in the San Benito neighborhood. The naked man represents the people freed from ties and its authors were the spouses Volieta and Claudio Cevallos. Commonly known as "El Chulon"

The Monument to the Revolution, better known as “El Chulón”, is one of the most representative Salvadoran icons. This gigantic work of art stands out on the path that runs along Avenida La Revolución, located in Colonia San Benito, in the municipality of San Salvador. It was built in 1955, while Colonel Óscar Osorio served as President of the Republic (1950-1956). Its unveiling was made to commemorate the revolutionary movement of December 14, 1948, when General Salvador Castaneda Castro was defeated and culminated in the Political Constitution of 1950. The work was created by the Mexican Claudio Cevallos and his wife Violeta Bonilla, Salvadoran and student of the muralist Diego Rivera. “El Chulón” is a naked man who represents the people freed from the bonds imposed by the government of that time. It is worth noting that this eye-catching silhouette was composed of stones from different regions of the country. On the other hand, the construction is accompanied by a sculpture with the name “Allegory to the Constitution of 1950” or “Monument to Freedom.” In it you can see a group of stone carvings that represent a worker and a mother with her child. Also a girl, two other female sculptures, a soldier with his rifle pointed at the ground and another woman holding the 1950 Constitution. The entire group holds a naked woman covered with the flag of El Salvador. Its author was the Costa Rican Francisco Zúñiga. In order to have access and appreciate the details of both sculptures, you can enter the facilities of the Museum of Art of El Salvador (MARTE) and it is free.

Messy, dirty, you can take photos but the square is poorly managed and the security employees almost hit you when they see you taking photos in a public area, it is not good to bring children or go to distract yourself, the truth is that it is bad place.
