(Translated by Google) This as another couple of sites in the historic center of San Salvador, are very valuable places for its history and cultural wealth, until very recently with the revitalization of the place has become a meeting point, the surroundings have been filled with new Entrepreneurial businesses that offer food and drinks and even international cuisine, there are also typical meals, right in front of this square there is a paid air parking, I have to say that arriving in UBER to this place is very easy, but you can not leave the center History of San Salvador in UBER, because it is restricted within this area, so I recommend that if you can go in your own vehicle, or you can make the necessary arrangements so that you do not have a bad experience when trying to leave the place and late at night, since the surroundings of the historic center are not so well guarded by the security elements, so it would not be wise to walk anywhere outside The historic center (Original) Este como otro par de sitios más del centro histórico de San Salvador, son lugares muy valiosos por su historia y riqueza cultural, hasta hace muy poco con la revitalización del lugar se ha convertido en un punto de reunión, los alrededores se han llenado de nuevos negocios de emprendedores que ofrecen alimentos y bebidas y hasta cocina internacional, también hay comidas típicas, justo frente a esta plaza hay un estacionamiento aéreo de paga, tengo que decir que llegar en UBER hasta este lugar es muy fácil, pero no puedes salir del centro histórico de San Salvador en UBER, porque está restringido dentro de esta zona, por lo que recomiendo que si puedes vallas en vehículo propio, o puedes hacer los arreglos pertinentes para que no tengas una mala experiencia al intentar salir del lugar ya entrada la noche, ya que los alrededores del centro histórico no están tan bien custodiados por los elementos de seguridad, así que no sería prudente caminar hacia ningún sitio fuera del Centro histórico.

Didn’t have time to take a tour inside but the outside of the building is beautiful. Definitely stop by and admire this place.

Loved taking the tour of the Palacio Nacional. My guide was excellent and answered lots of questions. The palace is beautiful, calm and filled with history. They have done an excellent job restoring it. A+ recommendation Note the google times were wrong: it said they opened at 8am, but in reality it wasn’t until 11am.

For tourists, this is not somewhere you should prioritize visiting. It was fine, but the tour forces you to move very quickly. There's only four or five rooms to see, and it took less than 20 minutes. It wasn't really worth the money for such a short tour.

Delightful place, if you dig into its history before you visit it, you would understand the economic impact coffee had back then. Make sure to tip your guide. Most of them are college students who love their rich culture.

I wanted to see the president's house and naively realized that it's a private residence. Obviously unlike the white house in the U.S.A where one could take a tour. So I found the next best place, El Palacio Nacional. I had seen so many events being held outside of it and it looks so grandiose, I figured it was worth the trip to see. I paid $5 because I'm a foreigner and in my opinion it's fair. I bought mine online and it's possible they are still setting up the verification process for that because there was a little confusion as to how to accept them. For now I'd recommend buying them there. I waited about 10 minutes for the start of the tour that lasted somewhere between 20 to 30 minutes. Our guide was very open to questions and was knowledgeable about many figures pictured throughout. I walked away with a bit more knowledge in that small tour. It was fun and the picture opportunities are endless. They are still renovating many rooms so hopefully in the future they will extend the tour.

I really enjoyed learning about the whole place, from its architecture to its history, truly an excellent place to visit... I found out that my grandmother used to go there to collect payments for products she used to sell for the use of the city, I was very impressed indeed, and I totally recommend it. Our visit began with a warm greeting and a very well planned out tour, our tour guide was superb as well, ! Thank you to everyone who made the whole experience a memorable one! 😊

Totally worth going !! I wish they had a tour in English. I know the history is rich and would have loved to understand it better. In buying your ticket to enter you are buying entry to a tour. You just can’t wander around yourself. It was a pretty cool historical building and beautiful gardens. The tile floors are really unique.

Muy bello e interesante historia de El Salvador. (beautiful architecture and interesting political hystory of El Salvador . I did my tour in spanish but they also have guides in english) the adjacent areas are not that pretty but if you keep insidevthe hystorical precint its safe. I do not think I would recomend it during the night.

Absolutely incredible building. Every room has a different floor tile and Belgian metal ceiling tiles, which were painstakingly hand painted by Salvadoran Artists. The stone work was designed and installed by Francisco Durini, an Italian emigre to the America's. The building was designed and built to rival the great municipal buildings of Europe. A cultural gem.

Beautiful colonial palace, built on the profits of coffee producers, and carried out by European craftsmen of different countries, which accounts for the slightly eclectic style. Sadly, a total dearth of furniture or information pervades this place. Though it offers welcome respite from the bustling market outside.

  • 5/5 Weronika K. 2 years ago on Google
Definitely worth going, you get a free tour guide and a pretty short tour but still the Palace and the gardens inside are very beautiful especially in comparison with the outside of the palace. Important to note: tour guides do not speak English.

Beautiful place during the day it’s open for public and at evening it looks amazing with the lights, I came to El Salvador 4 years ago and it looks totally different, it’s amazing the good job the ex mayor Nayib Bukele did, now you can walk all around without problems as cars aren’t allowed, in few streets, I’m really shocked how pretty looks El centro histórico!

Happened to be passing by on Christmas morning. The church was having a big baptizing event infront of the palace. Never seen anything like it in my life. Our presence drew a lot of attention and we were explained about the local tradition of La Luz Del Mundo. Not sure how it is on a normal day but this was definitely a facsinating one.

Very cool structure with an interesting historical past. $3 entry for foreigners. There's absolutely no information in English, and a general lack of published information in general which is a bit of a shame. Free tours are provided in Spanish and English (of which I was the only one on the English tour). It's certainly worth checking out if you plan on spending time exploring around Centro.
