Probably the best place you will stay in Salvador as a budget backpacker. 8$ for a dorm bed. The place is very clean, has fully equipped kitchen (oven, microwave, toster, coffee machine, all types of pans etc. + regular stuff). Comfortable beds, HOT water, very nice common areas (3 in total) with gardens and a terrace. Free good drinking water. Safe location, walking distance to the Old Town (15min), just next to the most fancy park in the capital. Easy access by public transport, from Terminal Occidente minibus R4T for 0,25$, stops next to the hostel, short ride. From Terminal Oriente (when coming from the south) take any bus to Metrocentro or anything passing Juan Pablo II avenue and then you are in the walking distance from the hostel. Same price 25 cents. Don't be scared to walk and use public transport, its a normal city. After dark just take Uber, and enjoy your stay. Pozdrowienia dla Polaków ***** ***

(+) -Clean and big place with alot of places to chill at. -Free water station (Save plastic bottles!) -Cheapest dorms in the area, closest to city center. (-) -Could use a little more maintenance (shower tap dripping with water constantly etc) -WIFI was down a full day i was there. -Needs to walk a little to the supermarket -Small lockers.

Can't recommend this place enough. the owner and staff are awesome and helpful, the place is huge with a nice kitchen and areas to hang out everywhere. Private rooms are huge, clean, neat with a private bathroom and a big balcony. Centrally located and in a safe neighborhood. the bus stop is literally outside the place and will take you all over the city. Uber at night is very very cheap and easy to use. located across the national gymnasium. my favorite part is the hidden tower (just ask) where you could watch both the sunset and sunrise. Next time Im in san Salvador I will stay here again for sure.

I stayed in this hostel for 3 nights and I can not recommend this place enough. If you are in San Salvador and looking for an inexpensive, clean and hospitable place, look no further. The staff and the owner are really nice. You won't regret staying there.

The place was well located near a big park, while combining the proximity to the city center and metro plaza. The staff was nice and helpful with directions and other inquiries. The kitchen is well stuffed and even has free drinkable water at disposal. The inside patio is great for chilling or looking through the multitude of vinyl disks on display. The upper terrace doesn't have the best view but is good enough for socializing while having even sockets and wifi connection.

Stayed here over a week, great location next to the bus stop and beautiful park. 20 minute walk to the large shopping malls. Friendly staff, great open plan kitchen, relaxed atmosphere and extremely reliable and quick wifi

No WiFi! During my 3 days stay the WiFi didn't work. And no intention to get it fixed. For many people this is their first point of entry into the country. Wifi is needed. All other facilities are good but until they fix this, only one star.

Still closed. We arrived at 7pm in the dark with two small children and found the place abandoned. An email would have been nice. We are sorry about the fire but you have had two months to cancel your bookings.

very nice hostel with amazing interior & kitchen. The location is perfect & the english speaking service couldn't be any kinder. The dorms are standard, the private rooms rather spacious. unfortunately, during my 5 days stay the wifi never worked properly.

Sort of an unplanned overnight stay at the city as we failed to pick up a hire car. Loved the house, its decor and design. We had a large en suite, furnished double room.. . . Following morning owner actually drove us to a Salvadoran hire company - which worked out great! Recommended!

Not their fault, but there is construction going on right outside the room that continues into late night. You barely can hear each other nor to sleep

Staff did speak English when I was there. It was an amazing hostel, one of the best I’ve ever been. It is as boutique as it gets, at least for this price, as it is situated in a former villa, complete with a kitchen island and cozy terraces

Dorm Rooms are basic but is made up for by the friendliness of Malcolm and his staff. Super helpful, and down to hang out. Great location in San Salvador, walking distance to a really nice shopping centre.

This was definitely one of the nicer hostels I've stayed in; it had clean facilities and a really well equipped kitchen. It's only about 1km from a big supermarket. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only downside to this hostel was that I was woken up at 7am by some children yelling and making noise in the next room and the sounds barely got muffled by the wall. Since that might only be the case for the dorm room that I was staying in I'd still recommend staying at Cumbres del Volcan.

Nice, fairly clean budget accommodation. The host and staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, helped us book a taxi to the airport early in the morning and invited us out for drinks at one of the nearby areas. Location is across from a busy road, and a short taxi ride (or 40-60 minute walk) from the central part of town. Great kitchen facilities too.
