Avoid booking here! So this place looks professional on the outside and meant to be the tourist information spot. So we booked our Taxi to the airport and paid $30 dollars up front. We were assured that everything would be fine and would not be "Latin time" so we waited outside our hostel 5 minutes before required time and now the taxi is 30 minutes late. We have Uber coming from another town which was super lucky as they do not really run around this part. So now we are having to pay out twice with no obvious way of getting our money back from this company. Yes we know, things happen, cars and people break down but this company offers no communication and now know we won't be refunded. You try and support local companies but if you have a plane to catch do not bother with these guys. At least we got to drive past their office in our Uber.

My first time visiting El Salvador was an amazing experience thanks to Salva and Chamba. One of my friends reached out to Tunco Life letting them know what activities we were interested in doing and Salva set everything up for us. We met Chamba, who was our tour guide for a day but continually stayed in contact throughout our trip. I would definitely recommended them to anyone visiting El Salvador. Nothing bad to say about these guys. Professional from the beginning to the end. Air conditioned motor coach picked up on time, gave great directions and guided all members of the group despite their fitness level. The Hike is definitely challenging but not impossible if you have good cardio and can handle elevations. The views are incredible and the pictures do not capure the entire beauty. You have to see it for yourself. Would absolutely use them again and recommend anyone else try them. GREAT EXPERIENCE.

I loved the Tamanique Waterfalls tour with our guide Chamba. We stopped at 4 different waterfalls where you can swim, cliff jump and take photos. Some sections are steeper but the guide was able to accommodate everyone in our group. They showed us exactly where to swim and jump safely. If you love adventure do not miss out!

Tunco Life is one of a kind and made our trip to El Salvador unforgettable! If you’re considering booking with them, do it! Tunco Life is a small, locally owned tour company with friendly and super knowledgeable and bilingual guides. They were flexible and responsive when I inquired about tour options and accommodated our large group (9) easily, including providing a van large enough to fit us all! We opted for the Ruta de Flores tour with the hot springs on one day and the volcano hike the next, and Tunco Life picked us up and dropped us off at the Airbnb. We had a lot of flexibility in modifying the stops and Salva, our awesome guide and owner of the company, showed us the best coffee, beautiful restaurants, and local spots for dessert. He also had endless patience for our group’s need to take 100 photos of everything :). With Tunco Life we had the privilege of seeing their beautiful country and felt safe and welcomed. We have just spent 5 nights in El Tunco, and spent part of every day doing something with Salva@Tunco Life. We really enjoyed our time with him, he speaks excellent English, and is great company to be with. We did a tour of San Salvador, we went to volcano Santa Anna , but it was too windy to do the hike, so we did a walk around the botanic area , then went to Ataco to the coffee plantation. El Salvador exceeded our expectations, it felt safe, and the people are so friendly - when you are on a shuttle be prepared to be offered some of whatever they are eating! We look foreword to our next visit to El Tunco 😊

We usually never do tours, preferring to explore ourselves but had read such amazing feedback about Salva and his company that we had to investigate. Booked a tour guide, to only make a friend. Hands down… the sweetest, most knowledgeable, outgoing and most professional tour guide you will ever find in El Salvador. Salva is awesome. Took us everywhere on time, made time to show and explain things when we had questions, made time for snacks when traffic was bad… incredibly courteous. We had an absolute blast with Tunco Life. This was an incredible experience. The tour guides Chamba & Sal were exceptional. The hiking was rigorous especially for non-hikers like myself but the pace was reasonable. Great experience using these guys for the Tamanique waterfall. Outright and responsive with their communication. Our guide, Alejandro, was class. He pointed out various things on our hike, made sure we were all alright a few times on the hike up, shared with us some history of the country, and offered to stop by some food stands on the way back down. Tunco Life and our tour guide, Salva, were more than we could ever ask for! Our trip to El Salvador was absolutely amazing. Spending the day with Salva felt like hanging with a family friend. He was so knowledgeable about the country and so passionate about supporting the local people of the region. For our tour to Santa Ana, he hired an additional local guide, Osvaldo, who is an expert at climbing the mountain and helped get our 8 year old to the top and then back down. Without Salva and Osvaldo, I don’t know that we would have made it up and back, as it’s definitely an intermediate hike! In addition to that, we cherished our conversations with Salva - he brought up topics that were thought provoking and helped us to see the country from a different lens. I am so grateful for Tunco Life. We will be back and we will book with Tunco Life again!

We went on the waterfall tour & had the best time! The entire hike was beautiful and our tour guide, Chamba, was super knowledgeable sharing anll kinds of info and history along the way. Our trip to El Salvador was extra special because of Tunco Life! Even though, we didn't get to meet Salva, he sent us Noe, Fredy and Adonis, which were amazing! Noe was our driver for two days, Fredy was our guide when we went to the Tamanique Waterfalls and Adonis was our guide/driver for three days. Noe was very nice and helpful. He made us feel comfortable from the minute he picked us up. Adonis was very knowledgeable, fun and patient with us. My friend and I signed up for the 3 days tour. I loved the tours, and I usually don’t like tours. The tour guides were very accommodating to our time. We were given an overview of the tour and anything in additional we would like to do, the guides did their best to incorporate our interest to the trip. The places we tour were beautiful and enlightening. I highly recommend Tunco Life as apart of anyone’s travels to El Salvador!

Booked a very reasonable priced trip with Salvatore - we saw several villages, a waterfall and coffee roasters. Salvatore made our trip fun; he is great at adjusting his style to the group. For us, he was informative, lovely and got us to try several local foods (mixed success, but all wonderful to try). He noticed we wanted to take a picture of a sunset, so stopped at a great viewpoint on the way back. Also stored some of our luggage - really goes above and beyond. If I make it back to El Salvador, I will certainly visit Tunco Life again and book one of their tours.

Highly recommended! My girlfriend and I booked a shuttle to León through Tunco Life and when they found out the shuttle operator oversold the shuttle they organized a private shuttle for us and two others. The owner of Tunco Life also went with us and ensured that we quickly made it through the border crossings. After hearing many stories about how bad the journey can be, our experience could not have been better!

Myself and two others did the Santa Ana Volcano and San Salvador City Tour With Salva from Tunco Life. From start to finish he was incredibly knowledgeable, professional and funny. I felt by the end of the tour like we were all friends! At all times I felt extremely safe, even in downtown San Salvador. I was blown away by how friendly and safe it was, everyone was walking around with their phones and cameras out. I couldn’t believe how mismatched the reputation of the city was, from the reality. The Santa Ana volcano was also so spectacular - it’s not too physically challenging (maybe 1.5 hours up) and the view from the top is breathtaking. What an amazing tour and adventure Tunco Life took us on! Tunco Life customized our tour so we could not only hike Santa Ana but also visit the Tazumal Mayan ruins. Salva, our tour guide, was awesome! Not only was he bilingual but also very knowledgeable and accommodating. Our tour started super early but was totally worth it because we saw the sunrise and had the trail almost entirely to ourselves. Our driver was super skilled too, navigating the crazy traffic. From the ocean to the volcanos and the lake, from the city to the country we saw so much of El Salvador and learned so much in just one day. Will definitely book a tour again in the future!

Tunco Life was instrumental for our trip to El Salvador. Our flight into San Salvador had multiple delays and a diversion to Guatemala for a storm. Tunco Life tracked our flight and had a driver waiting for us at the airport. Having the flawless airport, transportation was a huge weight off of our shoulders. With the airport transportation we booked the Santa Ana volcano. The transportation, hike expertise, and photos at the top made the day all that much more memorable. Salva even took us to a great spot for lunch with some incredible views. Even though that was all we had initially booked, we could not complete our trip in El Salvador without booking more experiences with Tunco Life. We did two more experiences, including the natural pool and Suchitoto. I cannot recommend Tunco Life highly enough. We will be back!!
