Good place for an afternoon lunch (in the rain I may add). Super friendly staff. Seemed like it was the owner who was mingling with customers. I also respected the fact that the dinner menu was available ‘early’ for lunch. Traditional Italian resto.

As many of the restaurants in this area, it looks cute with many outdoor seating. Service was good. As for the food, unfortunately, average. Burrata salad was reasonable. But, the seafood pasta was a failure, both the shrimps and mussels were not fresh, bad tasting. The lamb shank was also way overcooked, not fresh tasting either. Disappointing!

If you can get a table - GO. If we were locals, we’d be eating here 2-3 times a week. The menu, kitchen execution and waitstaff are exceptional. My husband is an experienced chef and we’re both experienced “eaters” fortunate enough to travel quite a bit for work and pleasure. We dine out more than we should and are not easy to please. Italian ranks high in our favorite food category and we’re from the East Coast - good Italian food is in our blood. This place did not disappoint. Italian Classics executed with a (welcomed) California twist. Ie: fresh, garden veggies served with my chicken parm and pasta. I was a skeptic but not after the first bite. Trust me. I’m genuinely sad I don’t have this restaurant back home as a staple option… but I digress, THANKFUL for the DELICIOUS food & attentive/ hard-working staff…. A truly WONDERFUL experience all around. Secure a table and thank me later. As a side note: I had the privilege of meeting Giovanni’s brother - class act and a highlight to an already magical evening. Warmest thanks to the whole kitchen and team… Looking forward to a return visit on our next trip to Carmel.

Lasagna was out of this world amazing. It's the only place that has made me dream of returning just to have that dish again. We just love this place. Started with the calamari, strips of deep fried goodness accompanied by an aoili & a cocktail sauce. We also enjoyed a Ceasar with anchovies. My husband had the veal marsala, which was definitely a new favorite with us. The sauce. O M G . Delicate and so full of flavor. I was lucky to get the few bites that he shared with me. I, of course, had the lasagna, which was just as amazing as I remembered from our first trip here. Family run , no chains here Definitely don't miss this amazing Italian restaurant in lovely Carmel.

Oh my!! This was hands down the best Italian food I’ve had! The flavors were amazing and the service was so good! I loved that the owner came around to check on things, he was so kind! We ordered the bruschetta, garlic bread, ginger beer mocktail, chicken piccata, cannelloni, bread pudding, and crème brûlée. After dinner I needed to immediately get horizontal. If we didn’t live in Oklahoma we would be back next week! This is a must try!

What an unbelievable meal!! Best we had all vacation. Amazing options, even for vegetarians like myself, and outdoor patio with heaters in a cozy alley as well as out front. Our server never rushed us despite us taking our time due to seeing a friend after a long time and we appreciated it. Great selection of the Block 57 wines!

I just wanted to thank Giovanni’s for accepting our party of 3 for dessert! We were turned away from sitting in the main dining areas of two other locations on a slow night because we wanted to just eat desserts and coffee. I am aware on a typically crowded night expect to be turned away and understand it's harder to seat for just dessert but each other location had plenty of empty tables and it was a weekday night. So thank you again for the wonderful service, delicious deserts and coffee on a cold night. I look forward to coming back for dinner again.

Wow, what a dining experience. Sat down and got great service. Ordered appetizers, our main courses and dessert. Food was spectacular and the portions were on the large side. Prices were more than reasonable given the portions and the high quality food. If you haven't been yet, definitely put this restaurant on the list and you won't regret it. I'll definitely be back probably each time I come back to visit. Ciao until next time!

Amazing place! The food is awesome, so tasty (remind me of real Italian food). A special THANK YOU for Kelly, the hostess that made us feel at home! Once in Carmel, please go there. Plus: is pet friendly :)

I was recommended this restaurant by a family friend and happened to be in the area! Everything I had was delicious and I could tell it was authentic/made with amazing ingredients! The vibe was very chill and the staff was personable and attentive! I had the Misto Di Mare, caesar salad, and Tiramisu! All delicious. The pasta was flavorful and was full of delicious seafood. The salad was also flavorful and the dressing was to die for! The tiramisu was moist, sweet, and delicious! 10/10 recommend! Experience and food was amazing!

The two of us were wowed by this charming Italian restaurant across the street from our hotel. The banquet started with a large, ice-cold martini, nothing to sneeze at in this day of coupe glasses and watered down gin. The burrata and prosciutto appetizer was marvelous, as was the Greek salad, which they split in two for us. For mains, we had the linguine piccata and the carbonara, both excellent. The service was gracious and attentive throughout. We are not in Carmel often, but we have a new regular place there when we are.

Great meal here about a week ago...Shrimp Scampi, with large shrimp AND Bay Shrimp! Delicious! Also enjoyed a few deserts. The cocktails were also "well poured"...

Delicious Italian dinner experience. The menu is clearly labeled to help diners know what can be made gluten-free. The team is super friendly and helpful when making decisions. The gluten-free garlic bread was delicious, too, and there were great dessert options. All around a lovely time.

Fantastic service and food. We came here based solely on the Google reviews and were very impressed. Service was quick, which isn't for everyone but worked for us. We enjoyed mains and desserts. Lunch was quiet but the evening on a Saturday was booked out. 🍝

Outstanding food with variety of options. Wonderful and friendliest of staff to match the excellent ambience. When you are in Carmel, this is the restaurant you must go to!

The food was AMAZING. We had garlic dip as our starter. I had crab ravioli and my friend had the gnocchi. It was amazing, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. Probably the best food I have ever eaten. I am definitely going to come back again. The service is amazing as well and the owner is very sweet and kind. He even gave us free coffee cake.

This restaurant is absolutely amazing. Everything we got here did not fail to impress. I had the halibut special and my date had the pasta palermo for entrees, and the desserts were equally as good. Service was spectacular and our waiter Jack was so friendly and helpful with recommendations. We definitely will be coming back soon!

Good options on the menu, and good food portions. The pasta was slightly over cooked. It’s very dim in here, but the natural light makes up for it. My family and I were overall satisfied with the food and server and environment.

My mom, my daughter and I had the BEST dinner! So many gluten free options, even gluten free garlic bread! The food was incredible, the staff was friendly and attentive and the owner stopped by our table to check on us! Wonderful experience from beginning to end! Definitely recommend!!

Got last minute reservations due to heavy rains and storms across California. Our waiter was an interesting and funny guy. Overall since was fast and on point. Cauliflower gnocchi was light and delicious. Apple crisp was not too impressive and everything else we tried was good.

How delicious! The restaurant has an outdoor corridor, so we took our puppy. Garlic bread was yum, and pasta was so much better than what I’ve tried in the past few months in the Bay Area. Tiramisu was okay - enough for two. Would like to go back and try more.

Once you enter this casual cozy little restaurant with Italian flare, you know the service will be friendly and the food will be delicious. We sat in its private side alley section. We loved the ambiance, the service and the food. This is definitely one of those small restaurants that should not be missed when visiting Carmel.

A very satisfying dinner, with entertainment by local regular diners as well as visitors. Apparently it's a good place to people-watch, for celebrities and wannabes. The owner is aging well, and enjoys greeting everyone, sometimes more than once. It's nice to see a person stay classy in their old age and deal with forgetfulness in a charming way.

A really great meal, reminded me of a different time. I had the sand dabs, which came with mashed potatoes and vegetables, and husband had the salmon which came with pasta and vegetables. Everything was cooked perfectly. It was just delicious without unnecessary frills. And I don’t mean to imply that it was basic or simple, it was just really good, without being overly complicated or showy, which I’m not a fan of. The bread pudding and tort were also fantastic. This will be a regular stop any time we visit Carmel, and I’d consider driving to Carmel just to eat there. (Also, for the record,we did take out and ate at our inn a few blocks away because we were tired, but husband says the servers who helped him were friendly and genuine).
