If I could have left negative stars I would. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. We ended up here because all hotels in the area were booked due to the car show. As is the room was still over $400. Don’t waste your time or $. The front desk staff who could have been the owner was the rudest man i’ve met in 2022. The room was musty. The bed was hard as a rock. Did i mention how rude and ungrateful the manager was. I felt filthy being in the room. I usually don’t leave reviews but this was a review worth writing

I don't usually stay at independent hotel/motels but this was so perfect. The bed was the most comfortable ever in any motel I've ever stayed in. I actually slept! The room was clean and well stocked. Chairs were good for relaxing in and the outlets were accessible I could plug in my phone charger without having to crawl under furniture. 10/10 will stay here again.

when I check in this hotel on Augest 8, the Room looks ok, In the middle of the night, I was bitten by bedbugs on my neck, my back ,my hand and my leg. ( see attach picture)I also found a live bedbug under my Pillow. I was so frightened that I didn't sleep keep me up until morning. I told the front desk in the morning. I found there were bedbugs in my room, and showed him the place I was bitten and the body of the big bedbug. The front desk staff said he will let the hotel manager konw with a blank face, I told him my room number & leave my phone number and Email, ask: when I can expect a call or respond? he said the manager would call me tomorrow. until today, it's been 10 days and no one is calling or Email. The place where I was bitten by the bedbug was swollen and itchy for a week. I also threw all the clothes and pants that I brought into the hotel that day because I was afraid of infection. Fortunately, I had some luggage in the car, can you imange, I am in the middle of my trip, I almost threw all my clothes. that is the worst stayed in experience & the customer service I never had before.🤮

Not particularly clean and rude front desk staff. Zero amenities in the room and bathroom "aroma" was unfortunate; blocked venting? Use only as last resort. And the price was outrageous 🤯

To piggy back on what the reviewer “Justin” said.. ONE OF THE RUDEST OWNERS/MANAGERS IVE EVER MET. Check out time is 11am, at 11:15am, keep in mind we were only leaving that late because my mother had some health issues that day; he comes to our door, looks down at his watch, looks at us, shakes his head and just walks away. Just wow. AVOID STAYING HERE. To the owner at Discovery Inn: if you hate your job/business so much, sell it and quit. No one’s forcing you to be the Mr. Grinch of the hospitality industry 🎅 Oh and did I mention cockroaches in the room?

We have been using this establishment for some time. The rooms have all been updated and are exceptionally clean. The owners are very friendly and care about guests comforts. Highly recommend this establishment you will not be disappointed.

Check in: Arrived at 4:45. Door to office closed. Had to wait for someone to check us in. Person that checked us in was not very personable. Had a hard time hearing them due to glass window and traffic noise. On line add says vending machine ..there is no vending machine. No microwave in rm... the one available to guests is at front desk...door was locked...called front desk...no answer.... Room : appeared to be clean. Dusty, Holes in bottom sheet and blood and sweat/pee stains on mattress cover..no pillow protector s

Very nice and quiet motel. My only complaint was that the hot water in my room did not work. It may have been an issue caused by the storms,, but not being able to have a hot shower after a long day of work was a bummer. Still, I would happily stay in the motel again if business takes me back to Seaside.

Clean, quiet, modern, and extremely affordable. Same price as a sketchy dive motel but so much nicer and safer! Will definitely be back for my next dive trip. :)

I initially booked a room in advance for the weekend of the bad rain storm... when we realized how bad the storm was we called to cancel pur booking assuming we wpuld just have to take an L on the money we spent.. the hotel manager was super gracious and moved our trip to the next week. The staff was super helpful in general the rooms were very clean this is an excellent stay if you're looking for somewhere decent to lay your head that's nor gonna drain your pocket!

I stayed at the Discovery Inn at the end of January. I have stayed at many motels in my travels. I found my stay to be excellent! The motel is owned by a very friendly family, excellent service and atmosphere. The rooms are spotless and just newly renovated.Close to amenities and walking distance to a park. The atmosphere felt safe.

I will start with the good things. The location was wonderful. Its location was a short 5 minute drive to the beach, fisherman's wharf, cannery row, and the freeway. It had a mini fridge, and coffee maker, but no microwave. The room was clean but the bathroom was very outdated and needed some repairs. Here comes the bad. When I went in to the office to check in I took my service dog in with me, and the office assistant was very rude about my service dog. They asked if it was a service dog I showed my proof that he is a service dog. They came to our room about him again later which was quite upsetting. While my son was out in the parking lot riding his bike preparing for his bike race which is why we were there an older gentleman started yelling at him for riding his bike in the parking lot. Mind you there was maybe two other cars in the parking lot all weekend. He was not doing anything that was damaging their property or putting him in any kind of harm. The bed frames are made of cheap metal that got bent when my son accidentally kicked his getting into bed. They charged me $150.00 to fix it with no bill showing what I was being charged for and a breakdown of all cost. I was very disappointed with the stay there.

Very nice hotel for the price. No microwave in the room was a negative, they have one at the main desk available 9am-9pm. Its vaulted ceiling no insulation so it may get hot/cold, but they have heater and A/C in room so it's not much of an issue. very spacious and parking spot right at your door.

Inexpensive but everything you need. Room was clean and spacious. Nothing fancy but would recommend if you are looking for a cheap stay near Big Sur. Just a short drive to Monterey, Carmel, and Big Sur.

Booked this place during one of the busiest times of year, 4th of July weekend. We stayed July 2-3, one night and booked their suite since we had 6 people total. Location isn't bad. You will have to drive to anything you want but it is near major grocery stores and eateries nearby to choose from, so that's a plus. We paid $400 total so not bad but it was for just one night. But for a suite not bad. But I will say I wouldn't spend more than that. The place itself is old. There is nothing nice about the shape of this place. The room had a musty smell, the bathroom smelled of old pee almost. It just wasn't pleasant. Looks like they added refrigerators so that was nice but it was in the vanity area just awkward. Beds, they weren't the worst. They were quite firm, too firm for me. We checked for bed bugs (we check all the time) and didn't see anything. Don't pull the sheet cover off becssue that is embedded with hair. Pillows standard not enough. They had a good amount of towels which I appreciated. Air condition was extremely loud in the single bed part and kept me up. Walls so thin I felt the family watching a Disney movie next to us was in our room. Overall not bad. But I wouldn't stay there again. If I don't feel comfortable taking a shower there is a problem and the smell as just horrible. We booked off a third party site. The man was fine. Not overly nice but not horrible either. Just egh. I am glad we were only staying a night. I don't think I would feel comfortable staying longer than that.
