Went in for my basic keto needs and came out with more then I expected!! Absolutely love the stores variety of basically everything!! Employees were honestly the friendliest I’ve ever come across. The app definitely helps and saves you some money. Clean store!! Everything looks like it was in stock!

This Safeway has a fraudulent and dangerous practice of relabeling expiration dates and selling long since expired food. See pictures of moldy soft pretzels with the expiration of 6/15/23 but underneath that sticker you can see an expiration of 5/16/23. A month difference! This is unfortunate because these soft “pretzilla” pretzels are really good. I’ve been shopping here for 6 years and noticed some troubling signs before but this is ridiculous. I rarely give bad reviews but this warrants a bad review. I bought cannoli chips in March that tasted odd when I bit into them. I looked at the expiration date and it showed an expiration of January. When I came back to this Safeway in April these same cannoli chips labeled expiration January were still being sold. When I looked at the chips in early May I’m sure they were the same cannoli chips except now Safeway had just removed the January expiration. Almost nobody was buying them because they had expired. This is bad for the companies that make these products and also bad for Safeway in the long run because I and others will have to question if baked goods have been sitting around for months. I hope you guys don’t also do this with meat and dairy or someone may be killed. See pictures as proof.

What a gorgeous Safeway! And the deli is the cleanest freshest grocery store Deli there is. I have not seen such an exceptional Deli in a grocery store everything is exceptionally clean and appears very fresh. The salads we purchased were delicious. A bit on the pricey side they only reason it didn't get a five-star appointment.

I enjoy shopping at this Safeway, even more with the most recent renovations. I can find what I need most of the time. The products are fresh and every single isle is usually pristine clean. If you’re a regular, make sure to get your Club Card so you can get discounts on every product.

Love the build your own salad. BUT, be VERY careful because the advertisement appeared (to me) that the salad was $8.99. It turned out to be $8.99 a pound 😱. I had the best $16.00 salad ever. It was all of the toppings 😩....lesson learned 👍

Everytime I use the bathroom there I overhear the employees joking or just sitting in the stalls doing nothing, the bathroom isn't a hang out area and has sense made everyone who actually comes for the bathroom uncomfortable. If they don't have a place to take their break that should be fixed.

I would give it five stars but recently they've raised their to go carrots/pretzels/turkey or sometimes cheese/ham/pretzels little containers on an end cap where they also package tuna salads and small little to go meals. They raised it a whole dollar just like that, and also reduce the size of the amount. Lame move safeway. Greedy because you know we're going to buy it because it's a fresh healthy alternative to chips and or a good lunch box meal for the kids and I feel that it's taking advantage of the consumer. Put it back to $5!

Wanted to say thank you to Manuel in the deli for being such a nice employee. I had gone to two other Safeways to look for the same sauce, neither have it any longer (and one of them was actually rude). This Safeway did, and Manuel was so gracious he gave me some to buy. Awesome. That's the kind of customer service businesses should strive for. Thank you!

I am very critical of giving out the five star to anybody, but this grocery store has the best selection, the best employees, is the cleanest, the best organized and stocked and it's just hands down the best grocery store in the area. apart from a couple of employees that should probably work somewhere else everyone is very nice, very helpful and a pleasure to see. No customer service. Only 1 checker opened. It was 9 item or less line. My basket was full. I asked if another line would open up. The one checker rudely responded, mam, no one will be here to open up for 20-30 minutes. It was 9:00 in the morning. Store was busy and it’s the holiday season. Ridiculous. I got out of line and left my cart full in middle of the store

Basic grocery store. I used the delivery service and the store substituted items that were not approved or wanted, and didn't substitute items that were needed and necessary. I spent over an hour waiting on hold for customer service to discuss my order. For the time, hassle and delivery fees you are better off going to the store yourself.

Plenty of parking. Staff was friendly. Store was clean and easy to move around in. The Starbucks coffee place only had one employee so it was a bit slow but the quality was just as good as any other.

I have been shopping at the Safeway store since it became a Safeway store. I’ve always had pretty good luck and good service, but today was the most pathetic example of customer service and expediency that I’ve ever seen by Safeway staff.

They usually have everything I need. The self-serve Chinese food does go out quickly by the way!

Busy in the evenings. Clean with good access and parking. I've taken this rating down two stars because they've had sewage flowing out of the Northwest and north side of the building for several months. I've spoken to them and they've done some maintenance but it doesn't appear to be completely fixed. The whole place stinks if you're downwind.

Overall very good, mostly well stocked and friendly workers. Added one of the most flavorful, creamy, tasty 😋 and reasonably priced ice cream manufacturers, UMPQUA (can't pronounce it though 😊). Plain ole Vanilla is top notch. For the chocolate, just need a lightning 🌩 flavor to pair it with. In stock today. Overall very nice, friendly service, well stocked, parking can be tight and certain times the lines are longer. Only store I've encountered which has my favorite 4 of 6 Cholula flavors 😋 things are pretty much the same, parking and lines are usually time of day dependent. It's the primary goto store. Can take quite a while to pick up prescriptions.

Great service, employees were very quick and happy to help with finding anything. Most items I looked for were in stock, although some items on sale were out of stock.

I'm a loyal Safeway shopper. Have been most of my life! I love their quality of food, the Club Member deals, and their stores are always clean.

Safeway always top 3 grocery stores. Some are much bigger, better than others. I like the ones located in the classier hoods because they're stocked with a deeper selection.

Really nice and clean Safeway. We are from out of town, but always shop here when we visit Monterey. Knowing that they are affiliated with our local Save Mart stores, I prefer to support local stores, even when I’m out of town.

Not the Safeway of yesterday. Lots of variety and pretty much everything you need. 4 stars instead of 5 because there was only an express lane cashier or self. My wife appreciates a real person so we asked if we could go thru with our 25 items or so and we were told we had to wait for another cashier to open...even though the person behind us was also over the limit. Was not very accommodating and the cashier seemed a bit perturbed. Go figure when we were doing our part to save her job and not use self serve. ☺️

This safe way was clean and well stocked. Found everything we needed. However, there was only one line open for a large line of folks patiently waiting. Of course there is always self check out as well.

Rating varies from 4-5 depending on when visiting. In general, cashiers are typically happy and friendly. Sometimes it's difficult to move down aisles when lines back into and block entry. Prices are better if you register a phone number and use it for discounts.
