La Caille is beautiful. Sitting by the light of the fireplace on a winter night made for a romantic atmosphere. The food was delicious, especially the lobster. Unfortunately the service does not match the exceptional ambiance and food. The service fell far below the bar of what would be expected at a place for fine dining (or dining anywhere in general). -it took a very long time to for the waiter to initially come to the table and he essentially would disappear for extended periods of time without checking in at all. -I ordered a bottle of wine for the table and it took over 20 minutes before I was told they couldn’t find it or were apparently out. In the meantime, there was no water on the table. -we were then given a delicious soup but not any silverware to eat it. Luckily a manager walked by so we were able to request some before it was cold. It felt like I had to make an effort to get what I needed at almost every turn, which made the bill at the end sting a little more. I hope that management takes the time to rectify the service issues that I am not alone on experiencing.

La Caille was such a great experience for us. Driving up the drive way was a wonderful start to a terrific evening. The sunset lighting was spectacular and truly added to the eating experience. The food was delicious and was an experience all its own. We definitely will be back as everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. We were well attended to and enjoyed all members of the staff.

My Wife took me to La Caille for a birthday dinner on the Friday a few days before valentines day, but the only menu option when we arrived was the 5 course valentines special menu for 150 per person. Even though the menu we looked at online showed different, we decided to go for it. We ordered a bottle of wine that was average priced and they ended up being sold out of it. So, we did the wine pairing that was suggested for an additional $20-26 per course. 2 of the wines that we were served were good with a good taste, but the other 3 had a taste and texture of a cheaper wine. They still paired nicely with the courses, and the courses leading up to the entree were very interesting but mostly seafood related. the soup was good. I had the steak entree and it was good, but there were only three 1-ounce pieces of steak served, which for the price they could have done an extra piece or two. My wife did the lobster and enjoyed it. The waitress was great but could have spent more time on us and a coat check would have been good. The bill by time the tip ended up being just shy of $500. Overall, we enjoyed the experience but given the price, service level and menu options I'm not sure we will be going back.

This place is an amazing experience that everyone should try. From top to bottom this place was awesome! The staff is very friendly and helpful, the food is so fresh and amazing, the atmosphere is so welcoming and warm. The scenery inside and out is beautiful, they even have peacocks and chickens outside! Such a fun experience! A+++

We just came back from a most enjoyable dinner. This restaurant checked off every box I have when it comes to fine dining. From the valets, waiters, cooks, management they were all fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who enjoys fine dining. The staff was simply amazing. The food was fantastic. My compliments to everyone who made this such a wonderful evening for Lady Dove and myself.

It was a great experience & they had very nice staff. I hate valet parking and it was very much a French palette. I won't be going back because it isn't my scene but they played their part nicely and it is beautiful and breathe taking there! They deserve 5 stars above and beyond my opinion. Very well done.

Went last night for their Valentines Day 6 course meal. First off, the place is gorgeous and our service was fantastic. The courses were Oyster, Scallop Ravioli, Poached Egg w/ caviar, Artichoke Soup, Strawberry Basil Sorbet, and Beef Sirloin for the entree. The other thing I didn’t care for was the scallop ravioli. Everything else was very good. I’m giving them 4 stars because nothing stood out and gave me the “That was amazing and one of the best things I’ve ever had” moment. Don’t get me wrong though, it was all good and presented beautifully, but for $500 (2 people, 4 drinks & tip), I’m expecting exceptional, can’t wait to come back food, not just “good”.

As Wedding photographers, we’d like to leave brief review of this beautiful venue. La Caille is our favorite venue in Utah. It offers absolutely stunning backdrops, plenty of space and a beautiful greenhouse for any time of year. We’ve worked here many times and it never gets old. Looking forward to next time.

What an amazing experience and beautiful restaurant! My husband and I enjoyed our first breakfast here as a newlywed couple and we are so happy we did! The hostess was extremely welcoming when we walked in. Our server (Robert) was attentive, extremely familiar with the menu and the current specials, as well as professional and polite. We give compliments to the chef, the food was absolutely delicious. I had the French toast with smoked bison sausage, and oh my goodness- it was out of this world. The atmosphere is beautiful and the decorations make you feel as if you are actually in France. We will definitely be back here and recommend this beautiful restaurant to our family and friends!

Is one of our favorite restaurants in Utah, therefore we invited 2 couples to dine with us last night and unfortunately it wasn’t a good experience. We always came here in the past because of the outstanding service and the food. This is not a cheap restaurant and therefore we do expect quality service and food and this time we were extremely disappointed with both. 1 - We made a reservation for 8pm at 8:30 we were not seated yet, we had to ask the hostess if we could be seated since we had to drop someone off at the airport and we didn’t want to be rushed. 2 - We were finally seated but Rob our waiter took a long time to come over to take our order. 3 - We brought wine with us and paid a $25 cork fee per bottle, the waiter just opened the bottle for us, but did not serve us. On the next bottle I was just handed a corkscrew. 4 - We order 2 Scallop & Lobster Duet and they came to the table missing the Short Rib Ravioli. Once it was brought to the server’s attention he did bring the Ravioli but they were frozen inside. 5 - We wanted to order dessert, but they were out of it.

WOW!!!! Talk about amazing. My sincerest compliments to the chef. We went for the first time last night, and I was very skeptical at first due to the menu but nothing disappointed. Exceptional food, good services! Our food came rather fast and I really appreciated that afterwards the manager came over to see how the night went, how service was, and how the food tasted! The valet was fantastic they were VERY kind to us. Being able to step out of the car and see a peacock was also really cool! The ambiance was fabulous, and I was touched by the complimentary dishes that the Chef/restaurant provided to us as a thank you for dining with them. We will be coming back for EVERY anniversary dinner! I have very high expectations for this restaurant it was incredible.

During my experience with La Caille, I did not feel like I was in Utah. The gorgeous location and European theme made the experience even more memorable. The service was very professional and definitely one of the best I have had. I had a wonderful time and the food was AMAZING! If you are looking for the perfect place to celebrate an anniversary, birthday, or special event, then I highly recommend La Caille. The wine, desserts, entrees, and appetizers were all incredible and my taste buds were especially impressed!

This review is only for the Harvest Festival on 10/22/23. I feel like it was a missed opportunity for experiencing the end of the wine harvesting season. Instead of offering a tasting of the wines as a bar option it was per glass or bottle. I wish there had been more of an emphasis on the wines La Caille is producing and really celebrating that as opposed to a regular outdoor fall event (which was still fun!) I also have a hard time relaxing with children in spaces that should be adult only. The large Jenga falling constantly on the hollowed out brass drum tables was…not good. Next year, consider making one of the three events 21+ only, having a La Caille table showcasing the grapes, wine making, and history of wine at La Caille. Also, offering the 5 tasting option for $29. Food was EXCELLENT (beer cheese was perfect), sliders, brisket, etc. - well done. La Caille is truly stunning this time of year but I was left wanting so much more from the wine experience.

Part of this review for 5 star asked about Rooms, I'm not sure about any rooms to rent or available, but I'm sure if there is, they are pretty nice. I did see a sort of Atrium with lots of plants and's they were having a Wedding reception in there and it looked pretty damn awesome. They also have a great outdoor area to have a wedding with a great back drop of the mountains. The food was delicious and our waitress was very helpful and made sure we were all being taken care of. The property was so well maintained. So so many picture opportunities. So much to take in, will definitely have to go back to see more.

Grand experience from the moment you enter the gate. It's like you are in a French countryside. Love every food we had. The Escargot was very delicious. Would love to come and eat here again on Spring, Summer and Fall season. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. I forgot her name but she was from Brazil. She was awesome!

By far the BEST dining experience I've ever had in my life! The entire staff was so pleasant and very well-versed on the menu. The whole restaurant had a very classy and enjoyable atmosphere. The food was unbelievable! The presentation of all the food was stunning as well. If you order the bacon appetizer, you're in for a treat! My table had the bacon and escargot for appetizers and they were DELICIOUS. For my entree, I had the Mary's Chicken and I can say with absolute certainty, it's the best chicken I've ever had. The location was beautiful. Highly recommend for a wedding venue! Overall, La Caille was a truly incredible restaurant that I will definitely be returning to whenever I'm back in Utah.

Went at night, so didn't see the grounds- service was great, vegan food was good although most of their menu is not vegetarian or vegan friendly, ambiance was lackluster. I expected so much more! The room we were in felt crowded and the tables and chairs weren't that nice, no twinkly lights, no extras, I wasn't that impressed. Glad I went, not sure I would go again.

For the price of the dishes, I was underwhelmed. The portions were very small which made it difficult to fully relish the different dishes. The butter sauce for the escargot dish was delicious. The lobster bisque was smooth with a little kick. Unfortunately for me personally i would have appreciated a tastier garnish. The bouillabaisse was by far my favorite dish overall. It was rich and hearty. The mussels were perfectly cooked and the sauce complimented versus overpowering the flavor. Overall I enjoyed the experience.

Great place overall. The food was amazing and the ambiance was very nice. The lady that was serving us though spilled a water glass all over the table and insisted it was our fault even though our hands were in our lap. It was super annoying. Also she would try and nitpick and tell us where to put certain things on the table like she was trying to be a mom. Food was amazing, but this older lady made the experience very weird so I'm probably not going to return.

Can’t say enough good things about La Caille! The grounds are absolutely, amazingly beautiful. Great photo opportunities. The restaurant is so pretty and elegant. The food is outstanding and the staff are friendly. They hold weddings here and it sure wouldn’t disappoint! The views where they hold the ceremonies is gorgeous. The Atrium where they have the reception is awesome. They do have cabins you can stay in as well. We didn’t see them so I can’t really comment on that. The pictures I saw of them looked very very nice.

Absolutely beautiful. The service was amazing and the food was to die for. I definitely suggest the chicken and the bacon. Such a fun presentation as well. My friends and I loved our experience here and will definitely be coming back. Worth every penny!

Wow! From the beginning you drive down a long pretty driveway and arrive at what looks like the beginning of a Disney story, it feels magical. The valet take your car, you check in a little early because the pathway was calling to you and you must take a stroll before you wine and dine. There’s geese, there’s water with bridges and you get lost for a minute on this beautiful walk but then you remember the experience has only begun. You check your coats and accidentally look up to see the upside down garden where the wild things grow. Taking the path to the right you’ll find a fireplace, comfortable seating, eye catching walls, a glass ceiling and a wonderful bartender with recommendations for something delicious while you wait for your table to be ready… date night is going fantastic so far. Your table is ready and you are escorted up the stairs, past more eye catching decor and a cute wine cellar with wines that they make their at La Caille! The restaurant is warm, a fireplace going, art work here and there and a server who is nothing but polite and pleasant. You must try the wine flight… this is not optional. The charcuterie board is incredible, the soups are perfect, the entrees…. Guys this place is amazing and you must come here four times a year minimum, I will be back soon! Thank you La Caille and team, you have created a fantastic experience

Food was pretty decent, service was awful. Had to literally get up and go to the kitchen area to ask for a glass of water we waited so long, it seamed like we were just being ignored. Beautiful atmosphere, wanted to go for a long time, spent a decent amount of money since there was 4 of us, would never go back because of the service though. Honestly woulda thought a place like this would be all about service, but I must say I’ve had better service at an Applebees.

Place is amazing fine dining, I ordered a filet steak that was great, mash potatoes and duck steak the duck was not very good. The atmosphere was great with great views. Wont come back again but was good experience.

Dinner is excellent and we had a great time for our anniversary. The ambiance and estate is beautiful to walk around before or after dinner. Definitely has the French cottage house feel. The food is excellent and on the more in the fine dining side for the slc area.

Came for my anniversary. Wife loved her seafood soup, bouillabaisse. The duck however was not good at all. Almost no flavor other than the really tough duck meat and $200+ later the meal was just okay. 3 stars are for the server, atmosphere and beautiful grounds. Food was not the best.

My mom took me there last Thursday for a mother daughter dinner for my birthday. The place itself is marvelous, it feels like you’re in a fairy tail every corner you turn. So unique and different than anything Salt Lake has to offer. The experience was so special, my mom let the staff know in advance that we were celebrating my birthday and they even customized my menu to say “happy birthday Laura” it was such a small detail that brought the biggest smile to my face. Meg was our server, she was super friendly and very knowledgeable on the food and drink menu, she made the whole experience very comfortable! We ordered the tomahawk which was a show stopper, and the sides were all so delicious too. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!!

Valet is super nice and quick Front of house was kind of slow, and didn't see them for like 5 minutes. Our server was also kind of slow, I saw the server for the table next to me more often than I saw mine. Bus boys are fast and attentive. Everyone was super polite though. The escargot was underwhelming, just tasted like olive oil. The dry aged ribeye was really good, but you have to order sides separately which is kinda crazy for the price I already pay for the steak. The mango coconut roll was really good and we also got a little salmon dip with a chip to try as compliment from the chef. The atmosphere is nice and you can walk around the little pond outside and see peacocks! Good for special occasions but I don't know if I'll go again. I'd rather go to other fine dining places that give more for the price.

La Caille is one of my favorite venues to work at as wedding planner. The grounds are well-kept and the view is stunning. There is so much indoor/outdoor space that can be used to meet the needs of any client. Jenica is very responsive and is so helpful the day of to prevent any problems and help direct catering and the La Caille Staff. We highly recommend and can't wait to work there again soon!

Had date night here. The atmosphere is lovely! The main reason we picked this restaurant. The service was okay although we had an 8:30pm reservation and by the time we left around 10 (primarily due to the speed of the kitchen and less so due to us being slow) they staff was doing a lot to shut down already and it didn't seem the most professional when you have guests still there that weren't exactly overstaying or anything. We even called ahead of time to ensure we wouldn't be rushed to finish as we saw they close at 9, but that is just the latest they seat anyone. They never gave us a true closing time when we called for us to be aware of. Maybe that would have helped avoid the confusion and feeling that we had overstayed our welcome when review hadn't been slow in our ordering or eating at all. The food and drinks were great. We found that some plates lacked balance but the quality was still fantastic. They also offered a lot of complimentary items which we were very pleased with and grateful for. Overall, it was a lovely evening. It would have only been better had we not felt rushed out at the end or had they more clearly communicated their closing time to us when we called and asked about it. Although, as nice as it was, we probably wouldn't return often if at all as we felt the value didn't exactly match up to the price. But I'd always recommend everyone that can to try this restaurant at least once for the experience as it is very nice. It might be best to try to come while there is still light out and probably better during warmer months where you can enjoy the area more.

We planned my older sisters engagement here and it was so wonderful! The whole staff was helpful to us! Not only was the proposal perfect, but the food for dinner was absolutely amazing! The filet was delightful, and the dessert was awesome! 10/10 would go back!

Came to la caille with my best friend for a girls night. Everything was amazing. We are plant based and didn’t see very many vegetarian options on the menu but we let our server know (Jeremy) and he kindly spoke with the chef and we were able to get awesome vegetarian dishes. The wine, the food, the service, the ambience.. all fantastic. We will be back again

La Caille has a unique atmosphere that makes it a perfect place for special occasions. I did feel like for the price the space was a little dated and the food was okay. I think there are other options in the area that are similarly priced with much better food. But overall great service and a great place if you are looking to try something different.

  • 2/5 Diego C. 2 years ago on Google
The place look nice. However the "server" was not the best. Timing was unacceptable, we got a salad for one guest, then an appetizer arrived, then we have to ask for a soup that was ordered for another guest. When the main course started arriving every dish was served in different times, some people have to wait to eat till the rest arrive. One of the Salmons was not cook correctly. The food wasn't that great. Honestly I've been in better places with better service, better food and not so high in prices.

It was a fun to enjoy Thanksgiving here last year, just getting around to writing a review. We enjoyed a multiple course meal that was filling an of good quality. Really enjoyed the wine sampler and the views of the garden from the upper level dining area.
