Terrible costumer service, the bartender/manager woman with short dark hair super rude with costumers, yelling to everybody also no wearing mask and coughing around all the bar not even covering her mouth and it was disgusting that she did it in front of our food that was not even good, nobody was friendly, the waitress has no idea about the food and the drinks I would never come back here and I don’t recommended this place at all ! And they told us to leave he place because we didn’t order other drink when we didn’t haven’t finish the one we already ordered and the place was empty not even 10 people in there. They need better managers.

Nice pub atmosphere with friendly staff and live music. Fish and chips were great, although like most places the mashed peas were an afterthought

Very friendly staff and good homemade food. The owner was walking around and greeting the guests, what a lovely man! I'm not giving it 5 stars because the mashed potatoes were a bit disappointing but I 100% recommend this place, and their portions are quite generous (they even gave us 2 extra wings!)

Brilliant bar with live music and sometimes karaoke. Amazing staff! They remember who you are and treat you as locals. Great pint of guiness and mini guiness! Try it! I definitely recommend.

Short haired female with star tattoo bartender/manager one of the rudest bar staff I’ve ever experienced. Abusive and impolite. Expensive enough to drink in Dublin City centre so spend your money somewhere where the staff have a bit of manners and respect.

Used to be amazing - quiet and chill atmosphere with soft background music and great food and service which is why it was my go to place. Sadly not anymore, had one bad experience and gave them the benefit of the doubt but after the second bad experience I’m not going back there. It’s gone downhill. Went there and kitchen was closed without anything posted on their Facebook page, they said the chef took the day off (how can you not have a backup?!). Took a really long time to get waiter to take our order. Ordered mango daiquiri and got a strawberry one instead without any explanation or apology. Second time they ignored us until we stopped a waiter passing by. Had to ask multiple times to multiple waiters for the drinks menu and they tried taking it away from us after every drink order. My food order (which took a long time to get the waiter to understand even if it was a standard item on the menu without any changes) never made it to the kitchen and I waited in vain for a long time. When I asked about it I was told there was a problem with the machine so had to place the order AGAIN. The singer playing was also so loud that we had to scream to have a proper conversation at our table and we were far away, can’t imagine anyone near. Only positive is that food is still good but it is not worth it considering how frustrating the overall experience is. If you want people to come back stop with the loud music, hire staff that knows your own menus so they can easily understand orders and print more menus so they can be left at the table so one knows which drinks to order for the 2nd, 3rd round and so on.

What an amazing place we discovered ! After being tired of shopping we were looking for a place to eat, relax and drink and that’s how we stumbled here … Some of the amazing things that we noticed and loved about this place: - They cook fresh food (and not just heat, microwave or fry the already cooked stuff) - Being vegetarians we mostly get disappointed at the food options in Dublin - but this place was different. Not just they had decent Vegetarian options, but they were also delicious - We had Veg Pasta, Veg Panini and Cheese Cake ! And just loved all of it - Friends also got some Guinness and a Margarita which was also good - The staff was very courteous and friendly - The place is nice and beautiful ! It looks small from the outside but it has ample of sitting space - We will surely visit again and recommend to all our friends :)

I recently visited O'Connell's bar and had the best burger of my life! The patty was perfectly cooked to my liking, juicy and flavorful. The bun was fresh and soft, and the toppings were of high quality. The atmosphere in the bar was great, with friendly staff and a lively crowd. I enjoyed a pint of beer with my burger and felt like I was in heaven. The service was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable. I would highly recommend O'Connell's bar to anyone looking for a great meal and a fun night out. If you are a burger lover, you cannot miss out on their burgers!

If you're on the hunt for a steak and Guinness pie look no further. I ate here at least 6 years ago and remember it being good but oh boy was it better than I remembered. I only eat meat on rare occasions and this was the perfect meal to do so. My US girlfriend said it was one of the top 10 meals she's ever had.

First time in there since the pandemic really enjoyed it. Good set up and the service was great as usual. Easily one of the best spots around O'Connell Street area.

Great atmosphere and lovely staff, and very very very delicious food. Music can be a wee bit too loud if youre trying to have a conversation with your couple of mate at the table.

Great traditional Irish Food!! Robust selection of traditional and local Micro brews available. Awesome cocktails too! Great location, but, the best thing about O'Connell's is the staff!!!

I went to go in for some food at only 6 in the evening was told no entry because I had a training top on. But yet the local scum bags could go in with tracksuit’s and shorts on. It’s an Irish bar that doesn’t allow the Irish inside. Door man was rude and also the staff when questioned on this matter avoid at all costs much nicer places to go in the city with excellent service.

Gotta love this place! Great service and friendly staff. Great food and good selection. Indoor and outdoor seating. Located across the River from Temple Bar Area, which means lower prices. Live music on some nights. What's not to like!

We dipped in here for an hour or two after traveling around Dublin. This place had good food and it wasn’t very crowded. The waitress was incredibly friendly and the food wasn’t expensive. It’s in a good location too that’s close to temple bar.

Went here last night and had to write a review great bar, lively atmosphere and the karaoke is a nice touch. But what I was impressed most about was that burger and chips... Unbelievably good.

Such an amazing pub. Staff was super friendly, helpful and always a great person to talk to. We spent an amazing evening here, trying different local beer. The atmosphere is magnificent, the beer is cold and the music is good. Last but not least the prices were reasonable.

The bartenders don’t know basic drinks recipes (ex. old fashioned). The proportions are badly measured what makes the drink taste bad!

  • 4/5 Anne L. 1 year ago on Google
Went here for lunch today. Food was lovely, would definitely recommend it. Staff were very nice and friendly. But we were changed €9.30 for a pot of tea for 3 people. A bit steep for a pot of boiling water and a couple of teabags.

It is a very modest looking place from the outside, and one might even expect a little bit of a dive on the inside. But it couldn't be more the opposite. It's quite spacious and and really pleasant. They have traditional Irish pub food, and it is excellent! It's also a few dollars cheaper per dish than over in the touristy Temple Bar area, even though it's really close to it. They also have a great selection of beers on tap. Our waiter/bartender was really friendly -- we ended up chatting about his trip to the States and what he thought. I had the lamb stew and my wife had the steak sandwich. Highly recommended! We would go back there in a heartbeat.

We've stopped in here every time we've been to Dublin the past 7-8 years. Absolutely love the food, the staff and the look and vibe of the place! Today we had the beef Guinness casserole, fish and chips and chicken burger. All lovely!

It's a really lovely place with friendly employees and good food. If you're hungry or if you just want to have a quick pint, this is the right place to go. Good prices in the middle of Dublin are rare, but you'll find them here.

Enjoyed some drinks and chips (fries). Wait for the chips was very long, reasonable prices. It's very dark in there, too dark in my opinion. Server was friendly and patient. Cider beer is amazing if you like sweet!
