Just an hour and twenty minutes south of Vienna is the Hohe Wand with its steep cliffs, amazing views, extensive trails and numerous huts and restaurants. It is also a haven for climbers and paragliders. This restaurant and hotel provide solid food and some of the best views around, perched on a 1000 foot cliff. Open all year but access can be tough once the snow comes. Chains and four wheel drive may be required. Weekend visitors pay an extra toll to drive up. Been here twice this past fall and really enjoy the crisp clear air

Nice view!! but the room is overpriced! 60 € exclusive towels(plus 5€ per person) and wifi connection And the fire alarm woke us up 4 o clock(they say it happens regularly)

Super comfortable beds and that was in the Lager! The food was amazing and overall it made our overnight on the Wand SUPER enjoyable. Great place.

My favorite guesthouse on Hohe Wand: great location (close to the rim), relatively isolated, good food and has dorm (lager) rooms.

My favorite hut on Hohe Wand. House is a real mountain hut. Food is great, staff is very kind. Position of the hut is spectacular. Recommended.
