(Translated by Google) The Romanesque Catholic Church which has watched the local people from the time of completion in 1949 until now. In the air raid in the Pacific War, the roof of the church was burned along with the great bow. Immediately after the war, restoration work was carried out, and it changed with the installation of the pipe organ and the elevator and the times. The appearance of Otaniishi is characterized by curvy shapes for its ease of processing. Oyaishi is also used abundantly in the inner chapel, and it is surrounded by the warm atmosphere unique to Otaniishi. The floor is basic boarding except for the outer stairs. The weight of the age is felt as it is in the sound of hate. The interior of the sun is suitable for a prayer hall. The church itself actively interacts with the outside world, and events are also prosperous. Internal photography is also possible. It will continue to be a building that represents Utsunomiya as one of the symbols of postwar reconstruction.

(Translated by Google) It is a wonderful building made of Oya stone. A church where the blue sky looks great. At night, it is lit up and fantastic. It is said that it is also designated as a national registered tangible cultural property. Somehow, I remember Notre Dame. When you go sightseeing in Utsunomiya, this is a place you should definitely include a course. Utsunomiya is not just dumplings. Completed in the 1930s, this Catholic church may not be a big draw for foreign tourists, but its exterior is made from Oya stone, so if you've been to the Oya quarry museum, you may want to see an example of large-scale construction using the material. It is free to enter and there are interesting carvings in the stone used inside as well.

(Translated by Google) A church made of Oya stone that can be seen from Tobu Utsunomiya Station. Designed by Swiss Max Hinder, completed in 1932 (Showa 7). It seems to be an architectural style called Romanesque Revival architecture, which is often seen in the latter half of the 19th century (what is this?). It's one of the largest buildings made of Oya stone in Japan. It is also registered as a national tangible cultural property. Due to the influence of the corona, it is currently not possible to tour the interior.

(Translated by Google) A small but nice building made of Oya stone. The altar is decorated with colored stones and has a majestic atmosphere like a church that appears in Western games. It's a good idea to take a walk with a nearby large ginkgo. A piece of paper with a passage from the Bible was distributed. (Translated by Google) It is famous as the Otani Stone Church and has been used in movies. I think it is good for a date course, but it is difficult to get in and out of the recent situation because it is a kindergarten. Because it is a church, we also provide religious education at the kindergarten side ... I used to live in my neighborhood, but I'm sorry that I hardly remember. (Translated by Google) A church that uses plenty of Oya stone, a specialty of Tochigi. I was able to freely enter the site and see it up close. It's less than 10 minutes on foot from Tobu Utsunomiya Station, and it's close by, so you can stop by for a walk. Currently, with the new corona countermeasures, people are sparse and inaccessible, but it will be very valuable to see them. If you study Oya stone at the Oya Museum first, you will deepen your understanding.

This is one of the biggest building made out of Oya stone which is an ingenious material only found here in Utsunomiya. The stained glass looked nice but wasn’t really something I would travel out of my way for. It was enjoyable to see that there are Japanese people that are Catholics though.

(Translated by Google) A Catholic church featuring architecture based on the modern Romanesque style. Most of it uses Oya stone, which is a specialty of Utsunomiya, and is designated as a national registered tangible cultural property. It was possible to tour the inside of the church and the grounds, but it was not possible at this time. The church was designed by the Swiss architect Max Hinder (1887-1963), who designed Sophia University Building No. 1, and was completed in 1932. Day It is a church building with a few twin towers in the book. The Oya stone used for the inner and outer walls of the cathedral on the second floor is the same as the place used for the former Imperial Hotel. Various designs are applied by masons to the ones cut out from the quarry in Otani. Every Sunday, a mass is held from 10 o'clock, and anyone can participate.
