2018 - Great wee place, the staff here take good care of you. Help yourself to cold tapas from the bar or order hot from the menu. Full size meals also available. The excellent tapas is €2, three of them will fill you. Drinks very reasonably priced. 2023 - still great! You order everything from a menu rather than help yourself and the pintxos are €2.55 now, as you would expect. Quality and service are excellent, a beautiful place to have a meal or spend the evening.

Superb find. Excellent range of tapas and pintxos as well as “normal” dishes. The croquettes, both Rostit and Ceps, are excellent and full of flavour as is the mini burger. The bravas are cooked uniquely and these are probably the best I have tasted. Make you make a reservation as the restaurant is rightly packed.

Probably my favorite restaurant in Barcelona among all the restaurants I visited here in the past 10 years. All the dishes are made from local produces and you can taste the freshness! The cooking technique is focused on bringing the flavors of the ingredients- strongly recommend the artichoke, the mushroom tortilla, the pork cheek pinxto, and the pork steak. The wine list is very good with some of the rare and fine international selection, and a very strong selection of Sherry. I would definitely come back again.

I got distracted…what can I say. Normally I have pictures of each dish, but I was so engrossed in the culinary experience I forgot, and that’s a huge compliment to the restaurant and chefs. This is the place to go for some authentic Catalan Tapas….and to cap it off they had my favorite Scotch…oh man. I’ll be back.

Very good food and attentive service. The only slight downside were some very inconsiderate customers encouraging their children to continuously open the door and run around. Not the restaurant's fault at all, and didn't detract from the experience. Will definitely go again.

I enjoy the time in Maitea, the tapas are so good and my favourite of the night was the dessert. Also the decorations make you travel to Pais Vasco

I say the best pintxos place in the heart of Eixample, if not in the entire Barcelona. Reservations are highly encouraged, but swing by during their opening service at dinner (20:00 pm) and they'll surely be able to accommodate you. Had the Carrillera, Tortilla, and Rollito Salmon Pintxos which I paired with a glass of Cava. The pintxos can easily get you full, but if you find yourself not yet satisfied, they have plenty of mains to choose from - don't missed out on their Abanico Iberico. For those of you wanting to satisfy your pintxos cravings and you happen to be in Barcelona, head on to Maitea Taberna!

Maitea has the best pork stake in Barcelona, maybe in the world!

This is the real deal. It doesn't look like much and the service takes a little warming up. We dropped all pretense and simply asked the server for his recommendations... And then the magic happened. I'm telling you.. if you like good food and wine, this is the place. High quality.

Easily one of the best pintxos bars in Barcelona and for a city filled with great food that’s saying a lot. On top of the hot and cold pintxos we also loved the ensalada Maitea.

Great traditional vasc coutry cusine. Pintxos, cod omelette, steak… great quality! Good service. Reasonable price.

Best meal we had in Barcelona. Very fun, friendly place. Outstanding grilled peppers. The white Basque wine was dry, crisp and delicious. Best patatas bravas I've ever had. Almost like the "souffle potatoes" in New Orleans.

It's been a long time since I was here before. Still one of the top places to eat in the area. Could negotiate a kind of Paleo food - no bread or French fries ... not cheap - with no strings held back 80+€ per person but it's worth it.

The pintxo with bacalao and aioli mouseline knocked my socks off! Friendly neighborhood place made me feel welcome and I enjoyed all the pintxos. Cava, vino, and lovely Basque cider. Everything very reasonably priced. Looking forward to returning and trying more of the menus, including platos, not just pintxos.

The waiter suggested the set menu and it was more than adequate. Gazpacho was not too filling, tastey and just enough for a starter. The main was seafood spaghetti and again was light, not too much and desert was a light custard/biscuit style portion. Staff were attentive and able to give a good description of the dishes available. It was empty, but quickly a number of couples came in. Seems underrated, but nothing to complain about. Give it a try, they deserve out custom..

I was afraid this would be mediocre because I found it on a travel website, but it was a great meal. Flavorful, satisfying, and sensibly priced. Get the grilled pork cheek!
