The rooms are disappointing to say the least. The walls feel ancient and so is the television. The AC does not really work, I had to put it on max power and 10 degrees to feel anything, and it being on max makes it loud. We were three In one room. The extra bed was horrendous. You could feel every spring and it sags. On a positive note the toilets were good. Overall the rooms felt old and badly maintained. The service was good at the main desk however in the restaurant they were rude and condescending. Contrary to the service the restaurant is a big buffet with good food. Lastly they have a lot of activities for kids, witch in of itslef is not a bad the. The problem arises when they have party's for the kids almost every night. These parties are held on the ground floor of the hotel and are extremely loud. They last till about 11:30 and it's impossible to sleep while they are happening. Overall does not feel like a 4 star hotel.

This was such a good surprise for me, I did not expect such a nice hotel for the price I paid. The food was really good and you had plenty of options. The rooms were spacious and we had a view of the sea, the room service was really good and spotless. The best part about it was the beach was literally a 3 minute walk.

Just got back after a week at Hotel Bernat II with my husband, son, daughter in law and 2 grandchildren. Location excellent, Rooms clean and modern shower very powerful, although I do not think all rooms have been refurbished. Corridors very dated, with dark wood doors, and old brown flooring. Food very fresh and a good variety, and replenished quickly, but did get repetitive, so went out for a few meals. Staff very welcoming, especially the dining room manager, who was really helpful and polite. Pool area a little small, but plenty of sunbeds. The spa is lovely, and a must if you are staying there. Not so good: We had alot of students staying the week we were there, for different events nearby, 60+ students, who were always first in dining room, which in turn, adults and thier families had to queue behind them, and wait until they were served, in my opinion, they should have had a separate dining time for them, as most days the queue for food was out of the door. Also smell of cannabis each day, someone smoking it on the balcony, which was an awful smell, and came into your room. It was even been smoked the morning we were coming home at 01.30am. No entertainment, which I think is needed. We had music on for Halloween and there was a great vibe in the hotel. Overall a good hotel, but for me not one I will be returning too.

We visited Hotel Bernat ii at the end of August and it was brilliant! The rooms were modern and regularly cleaned. The food was fresh and always had variety. The staff were very helpful, even with small requests. The location was great for quick access to the beach. We loved it and will definitely visit again.

We have been coming to Calella for 20 years and have changed 7 hotels so far. We visited Hotel Bernat II in June 2023 for 14 days and we rate it as the best of those we have known in Calella. Sure, there would be faults, as there are everywhere, but the good strongly outweighs the bad. We didn't like, for example, that when we were watching the Champions League final on TV in reception, the barman next door seemed to be playing loud music on purpose, which was distracting, but that was perhaps the only major disappointment. What we will remember, though, is the dining room. Perfect variety and variety of food, always no queuing or waiting, food always replenished. The manager in the dining room (Alfonso) is the man who makes the hotel's name and we have never met anyone like him in 20 years at Calella. Always great mood, interest, humour, show, helpfulness, this is what we will remember. The food in the hotels in Calella is of a good standard almost everywhere, in Bernat it is excellent, but one will forget the food in time and will remember arriving in the dining room and Alfonso, he makes it special. Overall we rate the Bernat II as the best value for money in Calella.

The hotel is very well located, walking distance anywhere you need. Kind and helpful staff, everyone always there to help out or provide an advice. Food is probably the best out of all hotels I have been to;) definitely recommending:)

Hotel Bernat II is a lovely hotel and a footstep away from the beach! And it is very close to the town and plenty of restaurants. The food was delicious and there was plenty to choose from. There is a fridge in the rooms, which was a nice touch to keep drinks nice and cool. The room had, which was nice to walk into after a long day in the beach or exploring Calella. Thank you for a fantastic week!

Nice hotel, very close to the beach, 1h drive from Barcelona airport. Transfer available- very easy option. Food- for dinners selection of fish and meat every night, nice deserts, different food every night. Breakfast ok, good coffee and fruits. They make nice omelettes with toppings of your choice. Amazing ice cream! Room nice and clean, quite modern, every room has balcony. The only downside was the hair dryer- noisy, a bit old, not too good and the pressure in the shower if you’re on the top floor. Pool quite small but nice, next to the bar where they make very good cocktails (no cheating). If you read in some reviews that the hotel is close to the shopping centre, that’s not true. There’s no shopping centre around. There is a typical Spanish street with bars, restaurants and small shops with gifts and other bits and pieces, not a shopping centre. Overall very nice hotel, good for family holiday or weekend away

I would not recommend this hotel, we stayed here for a week if you have paid for all inclusive or half board you will not get drinks included with this you have to pay separately each time. You will not get standard things in your room like iron, kettle and you can only have hot drinks at breakfast not other time. Your room will get cleaned each day but the bedding will not get changed they will just relay the same bedding. The pool is not as big as it looks in the photos it is very small so your best bet is to hit the beach…. The food at this hotel is not very nice and not a wide variety at all.

The good parts: rooms are rather newly renovated and equipped with modern furniture. They are also clean. Staff at the restaurant is great and so is the food. I was not pleased with the location of the hotel (directly at the main road), the balconies (quite run down and tiny), the noise inside the hotel (you can hear everything from the neighbours rooms) and also staff at reception was not overly friendly and welcoming. This could certainly improved.

Poor Wi-Fi. They do not inform about additional payments for the pool. The place is not friendly to children, there is nothing except billiards, so small children have no place to spend time with their families, and they cannot go to the swimming pool with their children after 5 p.m. And from the morning only in the middle hours which are intended for sightseeing. The food is cold, they serve the same thing every day, eggs, bacon, sausages, fish, chips, like in a public canteen, but there is a microwave, there are reservations, so ordinary hotel residents can't sit anywhere, water is paid like the rest of the drinks, twice as expensive than in a store, the staff almost stands over the customer, waiting for the plate when you finish, which causes discomfort. In the cafeteria, groups of waitress girls are standing around, guessing, I had a hair in my plate, and none of the waitresses have their hair tied up, maybe they get commission from the table, a strange way of motivation. The rooms are impeccably clean, the cleaning team is very nice and helpful. Company marketing and policy regarding additional hidden payments The Ibis hotel has fewer stars than the Bernat 2 hotel, but it is cheaper and has the same standard

This is not a 4 star hotel. Therefore I rate it one star here for a lie. Very poor offer, no sport facilities at all... plus additional fees everywhere.

The front desk staff is just horrible. We made a mistake of ordering a delivery and they made our life a nightmare. They wouldn`t accept groceries for us and pretended they didn`t know we were staying in a hotel. That is not 4* service.

There is horrible noise at night from the pool terrace right below everyone's balconies and the hotel staff does nothing about it. The irony is that they close the pool at 7PM for no reason, but they let you sit at the pool area to be noisy. There are a lot of things they say you can get from the reception, like slippers, but you have to ask for them specifically. The food is good, but the chief of staff asks you if you are staying here if he doesn't know your face, it's an insulting system. There are very noisy kids music parties at the ground floor which I am sure the people on the 1st floor can't be happy about. There's a cute boy part of the restaurant staff that I'll give them an extra star for.

I have just finished a 9 day stay here (3rd time I've been) and I love the hotel and location. The staff are excellent especially the gentleman who runs the restaurant (I'm sorry I don't know his name) but he is attentive, remembers his customers and is so good at his job. Thank you and I will come back again next year!

Great place to stay in. Good food, almost perfect lokalization, fine rooms and co-area. Coffee is the worst part :( But, the people.. The service... It was amazing!

Luckily I wasn’t here on vacation. Would have been a disaster. I would definitely book this hotel if you enjoy hearing all your neighbors slamming their doors and hearing every word they say in their rooms. It’s very hard to relax. The restaurant is noisy and the pool area is noisy. If you deside to book this atleast bring the best possible earplugs and good headphones.

Hotel is very close to the beach and we were lucky to had a balcony with the view. We were very nicely welcome in the beautiful reception. The breakfast was delicious, I really appreciated the interior, possibility to drink Prosecco in the morning and that even if we came late, there was always a big choice of food (everything was still warm). It was very nice that we received a 1 hour in SPA for free. Rooms were cleaned every day. They are, to be honest, not so modern and beautiful as the other parts of the facility, but it wasn’t an issue for me. Beds were comfortable, room was quiet and bathroom was clean. Hotel is a little far from the city centre and far from the train station.

Hotel was better then we expected, nice rooms with large balcony, spa is well priced, only thing odd was the 11am checkout time but besides that the stay is well worth it.

Very good touristic hotel, the food was good, wide variety. The staff very kind and always helpful. 2-3 minutes walking from the beach.

The hotel is okay, but the rooms are extremely noisy for the price they charge you. I was expecting a 4S star hotel and got the sound and ambience of a youth hostel with a 5star hotel bill. The decoration was renewed, but the facilities seem outdated. I was located in the fifth floor, and I almost couldn't sleep do to the amount of noise of people entering/leaving their rooms or from the highway that's next to the hotel. The room didn't have any soundproofing whatsoever. Also, the floor was really squeaky, I would recommend they invest in soundproofing the rooms. Positive: The breakfast was fine. The people in the dining room area were kind. The location was great, really close to the beach.

We have had a bad experience with stealing form our room.... We have lost a pair of airpods because the cleaning Lady cleaned the room under breakfreast and we did not know it, so we did not have time to take our stuff out of the pockets of the ropes from the spa, when we Askes the staff we got no help and only an angry staff because they said that its our fault but in realiti should they have waited to clean the room Like All the other days on the hotel we have been there All the other days we have hanged the sign out when we were ready for the clean but not under the breakfest this is not acceptable and we will not hope other turists pick this hotel in the future.. And some painkillers from the Room was also stolen... Nicklas Borup Jørgensen.

Very good Hotel! I visited it 3 years ago. So first of all, kind and quick service. At breakfast you have variety of products that you can eat, toasts, eggs, sausages and more. Rooms are comfortable and modern. If you want to visit this Hotel, but you are not sure, you should definetly go here and spent a few days.

Nice choice in our vacations. Small, comfortable and clean hotel. Room spacious with balcony fresh and good daily cleaning. The food was great, lovely and helpful costumer service.

I loved the choice with the food, even a ridiculously fussy eater such as me could eat fine. The staff were great and the rooms were great too. The bathrooms were really big which is amazing and the rooms had lots of storage. The only downside to my visit was that one of the people with me was robbed by a supposedly Chinese man (According to everyone who saw him I'm not being racist) just waltzed in and went downstairs to the dining area and took one of the people with us' wallet. This does mean that there was not much security and the staff aren't watching for random people walking in.

I have recently stayed at Bernat for a week and was not completely impressed with their standards. Positives... the Gentleman that checked us in at night was very polite and professional. A few staff that we did speak to in the restaurant were very nice especially the older gentleman in the suit, he was a true professional and was great with our children. The food served was good and catered for all tastes. Pool area and toilet were always clean and tidy. Room was nicely decorated. Negatives.... The WOMAN that work at reception were rude and ignorant. Standards of room cleaning were only moderate and there was no privacy when having a shower as there was no screen, meaning my husband and son would sit on the balcony when our daughter would take a shower. This is not a family hotel, there is nothing for small children but the pool and only a few games machines for older kids. These are just a few things we experienced but if you want a family holiday then Bernat is not the place.

Stayed here for 1 night in Dec. Complete value for money for the price we paid. The rooms are modern, spacious and very comfortable. Paid parking is available, however there are street parking spots available around that are free in the night and on weekends (need to be patient to find one though)

The reception staff were friendly, always cheerful and very helpful. The rooms were cleaned each day and the sheets changed. The food was varied every day and was delicious, probably one of the best hotels for food I have stayed at. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Thanks hotel Bernat ll you made our holiday better.

Had a very nice stay here. Must thank all staff but Laia in particular who was so warm and friendly doing great job in the restaurant. She was always smiling and was so helpful I hope her managers promote her!. Hotel is close to beach and high street. Food was OK need more varied vegetarian options and more labels in food but overall very good. Thanks Calella

Lovely hotel! Clean, comfortable and quiet. Room was a little warm at night but facilities are excellent, good food and drinks available and provided everything we needed for our baby during our stay. Will definitely be back 👍

No complaints, the hotel was clean, and had entertainment at night, the bar was great and the food. There is a variety of food options and plenty for everyone. The spa was amazing! I would go again to Spain just for this hotel

Really nice hotel. Extra nice receptionist!!. Nice parking, nice wifi. The hotel was renovated. The entrance was really cozy and modern. Rooms were comfortable and the small terrace was great. Breakfast was impressive. Pancakes were really good as week as fried eggs, omelette, etc. the only thing I would change, the coffee…it was horrible!

Very clean. Great facilities and location(200m from the Main Street) friendly staff. Great selection at the breakfest. Only reason I didn’t give 5 starts air conditioning unit does produce cold air luckily it was only October but couldn’t imagine trying to sleep in the summer months hopefully this problem is resolved come my stay again next October!

a 3 minute walk from golden sand beaches, this hotel was incredible. we were on a full board package and despite being vegans who don't even know what vegan is in spanish we never went hungry at their huge buffets. all of the staff were friendly and smiley from waiters to front desk to cleaners. our room was spotless although there was a small hole in the bed sheet it was not a problem as there is a mattress protector anyway. from our balcony we had a beautiful view of the mountains behind calella and the city itself. the pool is not heated but it is so lovely and we had such good weather that that didn't matter one bit. the bar in the foyer is well stocked and all the drinks prices which are extra are reasonable and far below what you would expect tourist prices to be. thankyou for such a wonderful holiday.

It was clean, the food was amazing and so much choice. On arriving your giving a complementary ticket to spa . We had a shared single but it had 2 doubles plus pool and sea view. If I had found one fault it would be pool slightly on small side but then you are only 2 mins from beach. Calella is a lovely little town with bars, shops and if you have kids Picalandi which has rides for children and inflatable. Also Bowling and Crazy golf just 5 mins from there. Nice walks too.

Some of the receptionists are not friendly and don’t even smile. The family room We got was so old and bed beds. The food was on point and the staffs at the restaurant were nice especially the manager. He makes you feel welcomed and free.
