This was a very cute place and the ambiance was cozy as well. The food was delicious and came out fast, we wanted a good drink but non alcoholic and our waitress Robyn made a good suggestion of a fruity margarita. Me and my friend will come back as we enjoyed ourselves very much. Very good food, portions and friendly service.

I loved this place and cannot wait to go again! The ambiance is wonderful; it has an old school Louisiana vibe in the beautiful city of Santa Barbara. The food was delicious! Creole food always hits the spot with this place being no exception. The service was immaculate, with the server making sure to tell us that if we wanted desert since we would have to order it asap because it would take a while. We got the food very fast, probably because we got there early. I strongly recommend this place! We will be going back :)

Do yourself a favor and come here for dinner to celebrate something. Anything. Not only do they have incredible food and friendly staff, they have pint sized craft cocktails for $16 and organize restaurant-wide singing during dinner. There's also a magician who may come by if you're waiting a while for your pork chop or bread pudding (well worth the wait). From the food, to the service, to the drinks, to the singing, this place cheered me up. I honestly love this place so much and cannot wait to come back!

The Palace Grill was a delight, combining great food with with a fun and perky environment. They were clearly aiming for the New Orleans ambience and nailed it. The Cajun popcorn was great and the redfish outstanding. The little buns to start were good, although a bit sweet and doughy. People love the soufflé- and with good reason. The Cajun martini was definitely exotic, although in the end not quite as strong as it tasted. It felt like the dining room was full of people having a good time and the communal singing of its a wonderful world seemed very appropriate. Memorable!

I wanted to come to Palace Grill for Mother’s Day, but it didn’t work out (there were no reservations left by the time we called) so my husband took us the weekend after. The manager, Armondo, asked what the occasion for our visit was and I told him it was sort of a Make-up for Mothe’s Day 😌 When we returned for our reservations, we were seated and the service was exceptional! The food was absolutely delicious and full of flavor 🤤 oh and The drinks were amazing of course! (Which I accidentally spilled when I grabbed my purse and they actually served me a new one although it was completely my fault, accident or not) 🥹 At the end, I was surprised with the Louisiana Bread Pudding Soufflé with Happy Mother’s Day written in chocolate 🥹 It was a Wonderful Day at The Palace Grill 🎺✨🐊 10 out of 10 for Food, Service, Drinks, Atmosphere, and overall Experience 😌

I love this place! They had everyone sing What A Wonderful World while the staff walked around and toasted everyone. It was a great touch. The food was delicious. I had gumbo to start, but didn't take a picture of that or the basket of muffins. The jalapeno cheddar corn bread muffin was my favorite. The main course was jambalaya pasta. I could eat it every day. Sooo good. See the picture to get your appetite going!

We ordered the Cajun popcorn, oysters, palace salad and the blackened redfish. I really like the redfish.

Just returned to The Palace after 3 year absence, we moved out of the area, pleased to day that food, drinks and desserts are still outstanding. The dinner starts with a basket if petite muffins: jalapeño, rosemary and honey flavored. Thw muffins are a great start, but don't overindulge, you'll need space in your tummy for msin course and dessert. I had the soft shell crabs, my favorite. And husband had the filet mignon, both fishes were ell prepared and flavorful. Now comes dessert. Order the bread pudding, you will be amazed, the bread pudding is a favorite go yo for most. I also recommend the chocolate souffle. The service is always great, they don't miss a beat. You always receive a smile from everyone from hostess to wait staff. Highly recommend.

This place has always been great! I come here every time I visit Santa Barbara. Food is always fresh & delicious! I brought my boyfriend for the first time & he loved it! One thing I will say, if you come here, you have to have their bread pudding soufflé with whiskey cream sauce. It is to die for!!

I've been eating at this restaurant for over 20 years and try to come here for dinner when in Santa Barbara. My last visit was the first time I've eaten here without a full dining room, there were many tables available. Back in the day, there was a line out the front door wrapping around the corner onto State St. of eager diners anticipating a great Cajun/Croele meal. This visit, the food was okay, not as good as I remember. The muffins are still very good. We got two cocktails served in maison jars, and they were okay. I appreciate the value of a good spiel, but our server was too scripted and didn't seem interested in us. We tipped 20% on our bill but then discovered the server added another $60 to his gratuity, and I'm currently disputing this charge. All in all, I think this restaurant has lost me. I may not come back after this disappointing experience. There are too many good options in town.

Fantastic Cajun food with a decent atmosphere. Inside seating is definitely better than the outside section. Everything from the appetizers, to the main course, to the desserts, and even the cocktails were very good and priced reasonably for the quality. Will definitely visit again when back in Santa Barbara

One of my favorite restaurants in the world. Great food, decent drinks (try the Cajun martini) and obscene desserts in a fun, festive atmosphere. Most nights the entire restaurant sings Louie Armstrong's What a Wonderful World. How cool is that? Personal notes: Cajun martini has a great presentation. Jambalaya is good but wish it were more bold. (UPDATE: Still not as much flavor as I want) The royal pasta is epic. It has so much flavor. Its big enough for two. The pork chop is great. It has a brown sugar sauce that's awesome.(UPDATE: No longer on menu but sometimes as a special.). The gumbo appetizer is a must. Cajun Crawfish Popcorn is a great appetizer. Finding a parking spot is very challenging.

Sometimes living in SB we forget about awesome places we have in “our backyard” We have been visiting the Palace since it opened. Last night, Mondo and the staff put out an excellent spread of food, accompanied by a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The team at the Palace made visiting Jennifer feel like Royalty. We will always turn to the Palace for a great meal and fun evening!!

Truly the best Gumbo we have ever had, and we are from New Orleans... Very solid food, great service and a very pleasant atmosphere. Can't go wrong here. Order your dessert souffle early!

Holy cow. The food here is outstanding. We didn’t have a reservation but the wait wasn’t long at all and they were incredibly busy even on a week day because of how amazing the food is here. True New Orleans food!

Ordered pasta pontalba spicy - wasn't spicy but overwhelmed with bell peppers and onions instead. Just 4 bite size pieces of chicken - 2 were not edible. Sauce was not good and too runny. The portion size for a to-go order was not worth $26 whatsoever. It's about half of what you get in the restaurant. The muffin recipes were not the same. I used to love this place. The atmosphere and people working were still phenomenal.

We had a large party, they added a mandatory 20% tip which I would not have minded if there had been decent service. We were in the second room (the first/primary room is much better for ambiance, action and maybe servers). We had a hard time getting water, our check, food, etc. We had to go to the woman at the front desk to beg for water and service multiple times. The food was alright but some didn't care for it. We didn't get our food until we had been there an hour and a half and we had some children who got tired of waiting. There were some interesting things to see, people were friendly and we were able to get reservations, which was nice. We liked the drinks.

Every time I hear Santa Barbara, I always think of this restaurant. I LOVE THE FOOD!!! Ever since I ate there, I couldn't stop thinking about the cray fish :-) They have that combo where you can choose 3 items, and I got to try 3 different dishes. They were just so good. I also tried their famous souffle for dessert, you must try it. It takes at least 20 min to prepare, so you have to order ahead of time. I've been to this place many times, and will always try to visit again when I'm in town.

We are visiting from Florida and thrilled we picked the Palace grill to have dinner. The staff reads like an All-Star list with a special mention to Mondo who must have a piece of the action, if he doesn't, he needs to be signed to a lifetime contract. He is the man! Louis, our waiter, was effortlessly cool and a pleasure to sit with. Could not stop eating, one dish was better than the next. I never order chicken out but happened to get the chicken with what seemed like a Cajun Hollandaise sauce that was award winning! The gumbo, jambalaya, salmon... All very tasty. We just had the best experience!
