Upscale fine Mexican restaurant with a fantastic outdoor seating arrangement, out of this world cocktails, and very unique Mexican dishes ranging from prime rib tacos to crab enchiladas. Everything here has a unique fine dining twist. The drinks are just so fine tuned that I can’t complain about anything. I highly recommend the margarita with mezcal or the daiquiri. The food is also amazing, and I highly recommend any of the enchilada dishes, but honestly. Everything looked good. Parking can be tough, so be prepared to walk a bit from public parking. There’s outdoor and indoor seating. Make sure to make a reservation so you can sit where you’d like. They are busy and short staffed, so be prepared when you come! One of the best Mexican dining experiences I’ve had!

Seafood + Mexican cuisine = bliss Tortilla chips perfectly thin yet crisp and salsas super good (I prefer the black one). Octopus ceviche was presented on a plate, thus not soupy, which we loved. The tequila and mezcal cocktails were great, with a nod to the pipino. We had the mixed seafood enchiladas, pepper stuffed w seafood tacos, and charred octopus - we suggest them all! Service at the bar from Tevin also great.

1. Fancy Food This Octopus is the best seafood. It was salty in a little bit, but savory flavor and soft. Their orange or mandarine sauce is suitable for the big octopus. 2. Fancy Mood Servers are nice and their interior design is also fancy. Although I went there alone, it is really great place for a date or party to celebrate.

The food is excellent..had a variety of dishes and they were all pretty good...they even comped my wife's drink that she did not like. Recommend the ceviche.

I didn’t like the shrimp cocktail at all, the salsa had kind of a taste that this plate definitely is an acquired taste. But the Cazuela Pibil was SO good, as a Latina, I say this dish was good, it needed a bit of more salt for my own taste. Their Mocteles were very good, too sweet but still good. Service could have been better. We had our finished plates on our table for more than my liking and servers were nowhere to be seen the times I needed them dispute the small area inside. Atmosphere is 5 star because the music was Latina and in Spanish so I felt I belonged…… AND I got to see Jason Segel, he was eating there. No picture was taking, but YES I can say he was sitting in the tables outside and he ate at this restaurant. So it was some experience for me, seeing my first celebrity in person. I recommend you try this place and live your own experience, for the price it is worth the try.

This is not your ordinary Mexican restaurant . This place offers dishes from different regions. Seafood, beef, pork and chicken. All Flavors are incredible. Salsas and sauces are Worthy of a 5 star. Handmade tortillas complement the meal. Flan dessert like no other.

Good food and drinks! We got the mimosa, spicy margarita and Bloody Mary for drinks. They make great drinks here! For food, we got the breakfast burritos and enchiladas. Staff were attentive and overall positive experience. They have different menu for breakfast vs dinner. Outdoor seatings and dogs friendly!

Outstanding, higher end mexican. Their salsa and chips were some of the best we have had. Pablano mole was fantastic. Outstanding food all around. Only complaint is the margaritas, while good, were too small for the money

Solid 4.1 stars. Breakfast is not as good as dinner. Come here for dinner. Mar y tierra it's my to go to. Great service, drinks, and desserts. Ask for the Habanero salsa.

Omar was a great server! We ordered the ribeye tacos and the mole plate. We completely enjoyed our meals. I ordered the SEÑORA ROSITA cocktail. I enjoyed it, but it was a bit watered down. I'd definitely return!

Absolutely loved Santo Mezcal!!! Visited for happy hour and dinner during our time in Santa Barbara! The service is great and the margaritas are excellent!!! I also really enjoyed the chips and salsa with the side of guacamole. Excited to visit again to explore more of the menu options!

We came for happy hour- all was great! Mexican food is well prepared here and the drinks we ordered were both amazing. The service is also nice! It’s not as big as other restaurants/bars nearby, but the vibe really makes it stand out! Will def come back for more’ we love it!!

Amazing upscale Mexican restaurant. It tends to fill up quickly so get there early. We got there around 5:30 on a Friday and waited 10 minutes. Servers were super friendly. Hosts were polite but (understandably) very terse. We started with the mushrooms appetizer which were incredibly tasty and garlicky. I got the salmon tacos which tasted fresh and were super filling. The mangos, pineapples, and nuts added a nice touch. The only thing I wouldn’t do again is the raspberry limeade. It was basically watery lime juice with a raspberry in it. Not worth the $8.

We went to Santo mezcal for dinner around 7:30 and waited about 5 minutes for a table. They will start you off with delicious thin, crispy, salty tortilla chips and a delicious mole and tomato salsa We ordered the Ceviche Verde and Ribeye tacos. The Ceviche was amazing and presented beautifully. The ribeye taco tasted good but was a bit cumbersome to eat. I thought perhaps it needed more of an acidic bite from a sauce. However, I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. The service was quick and polite, not overly friendly. Our waiter did give a great recommendation on the Ceviche Verde when asked. I should add, the one negative I found during our meal is we were very close to other diners. It didn't bother us much but if you value privacy and don't want others to easily hear your conversations, you may want to eat somewhere else

Such a delicious dinner location. Thankfully we used yelp to get on the waiting list. Service was absolutely incredible. The food came out really fast and was fresh and delicious. The seafood ceviche was incredible! Everyone got different dishes, ranging from tacos to the special chicken dish. Too full to get dessert but will definitely be back!

Very tasty. Had the shrimp taco and the fish taco. Both were very hearty tacos, certainly didn’t go home hungry. One thing to be aware of, this is a hip place with the music bumping. If that offends you, sit outside.

My husband and I tried Santo Mezcal for the first time on a Friday evening and although it was pretty busy when we arrived we were seated very quickly at a table on the patio. The service is fantastic! Every member of the staff the we encountered from the hostess to the server to the busboys were so friendly and had terrific attitudes. We were excited to try the queso fundido because of all of the great reviews we saw on it and it definitely did not disappoint! It was so delicious and was served with warm homemade corn tortillas. So good!! For our main courses we both had the steak tacos and they were also delicious. The steak was seasoned perfectly and it as filled with guacamole, cheese and pickled red onions. Simple but delicious! I tried one of their cocktails called the Pink Lady and it was flavorful and refreshing. This is a really cute place with a great laid back Santa Barbara vibe and amazing service. I will definitely be back the next time I’m in town.

Atmosphere and service was great. The food portions were extremely filling and tasty! The staff was really friendly, they were attentive and provided so many recommendations on drinks. I'm not really a huge mezcal fan (how I ended up here, no one knows) but the staff was great in recommending drinks that they thought I'd like. Would definitely recommend to others ~ good food, casual vibes, it was a great dinner.

Great Top Shelf Margaritas & Amazing Ribeye. Wasn't a fan of the mole enchilada that came with Ribeye but the Beet Salad made up for that. Expensive tourist area prices, but at least the food is great.

Wow! This was one of the best meals I've ever enjoyed. The cerviche verde with halibut blew my mind. It was as vibrant to look at as it was to taste. The mezcal margarita with lavender syrup was the best margarita I've ever tasted. The citrus and mango dressing on the salad served with the soft tacos was refreshing and light. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere had a relaxed and trendy vibe.

My wife and I decided to drop in on an early Monday evening! The outdoor seating and ambiance of the interior created a very relaxing and inviting atmosphere. We loved the drinks and the variety of chips and salsa so much, we decided to come back the next day. Hands down, Santo Mezcal makes the best margaritas hands down!
