We just came back from staying in this hotel and we appreciated the location but otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. We requested and were approved for late check out our first day there (which we were paying $25 extra for) and this morning at 10:30, we get a call from the front desk saying our late check out was now not approved because they were now fully booked for the weekend and needed the room. We had to quickly pack up and leave which was unexpected and a bummer on our last day of vacation. We also had issues with our initial reservation confirmation and the rooms were much too expensive considering the service and amenities. It seems like this place could use better communication tools and organizational systems. Hopefully they make some changes in the future.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Mason Beach Inn. Where you will be greeted by a dynamic duo of a rigid, condescending, angry woman and a very busy manager making phone calls in a checkered suit, wearing so much perfume that the tiny lobby area filled with tea and hot water will seem like a gas chamber. But that’s not the main attraction. The gem is when they charge you a solid $400 for a room where there is no reception, on the first floor with a beautiful view of parking spots. Make sure you don’t check in anytime earlier than 4:00 pm so you dodge the $30 dollar EARLY CHECK IN FEE. Let me sum it up. Unprofessional, miserable staff, no phone service, unexpected fees completely unknown in the hospitality industry, overpriced rooms, parking views and technical hiccups. Enjoy your stay!

This hotel is in a great location, but other than that it didn't seem worth the price. Our room was clean but small, and didn't have many amenities: no fridge or safe, for example, and some of the outlets and USB charging ports didn't work. We couldn't get the TV to change channels. The AC did work well, fortunately. The hotel doesn't offer breakfast, but they do have coffee and tea, and some instant oatmeal and granola bars for guests. There is also a small pool which was clean and kid-friendly (3 feet deep at both ends, 5 feet in the middle). The staff was friendly and helpful. All in all, our stay was pretty comfortable, just more expensive than I would expect for a basic hotel like this.

Mission Beach Inn is a nice property with large rooms, located a couple blocks from the beach in Santa Barbara. Facility is very secure, parking is available (at a fee)... there's a lot of little fees involved... $5 here, $5 there, another $3 and $12 here and there. They nickel and dime you. I don't like that. Great large flat screen. Wonderful restroom facilities, love the walk-in shower. All in all, a very comfortable room.

Very bad experience. We checked in around 10pm which is late and we booked the room in the booking . When I check-in they didn’t let us know what’s the policy in this hotel. When we all left they started charging me 350 dollars smoking fee without notifications and permissions. My dad didn’t know that and they just randomly charged my card. They didn’t let you know there’s a parking fee as well. All they did were charging you when you were gone. Unprofessional and rude act. Staffs are good so I will keep updating if what they did is legal.

Stayed here for work though I used to live here. I chose it for it's proximity to state street and the beach, but it also has a great rate. The front desk staff were amazing and there are little perks here and there that will make your stay just that much better

Wonderful Hotel. Cookie and coffee and hot chocolate with tea, fruit and breakfast bar. Pool. Modern style indoors but quaint outside look. Very helpful staff. Nice toiletries. Close to the beach

Great boutique hotel. Coffee maker in the room and mini bar with tons of options. Every morning they have the piping hot coffee and delicious cookies waiting for you. Beds were extremely comfy and the room was spotless! The pier, tons of award winning restaurants and nightlife are all within 10min walk. Definitely would stay again.

Amazing little place. Had a queen double room and was perfect. Welcome drinks were a lovely touch and the coffee, hot choc and teas were divine. But the best was the warmed cookies! My boys loved them. Lovely pool area and close to the harbour. We would def stay here again. Parking is easy and secure. Only thing I would say is they use heavily scented cleaning products in the bathroom and hallways. It smells lovely but my little one has asthma and he needed his puffer. But we opened the windows and aired the room and the strong smell was gone quickly. Thanks for a gorgeous stay! And if you need a fab place to eat try Toma restaurant which is a 4 min walk. Italian and divine! One of the best meals I’ve had in ages

Staying here felt like being transported to a sweet, old school beach movie. Rooms are smaller, but manageable. Service, check in/out and coffee bar can’t beat. Love the location - easily walkable to restaurants and beach. Would recommend and stay here again!

Hotel was pretty perfect for our 3 days stay for 3 ladies. I really like the pre check in process. When we got here they had our room and key ready with a compliment drink! The bed is comfortable, but the room is a little tight for two queen beds. We also wished the room would stay cooler with the heat wave we had. The pool was great! The jacuzzi was great as well! They provide coffee and oatmeal in all day that’s free. Hotel staff was very pleasant. The location is convenient. Walk to the harbor and beach in minutes and to state st in about 12-15 minutes. Overall, we thought it was great! Just wish we had a little more space in the room, and a patio would have been lovely.

Great location and great rooms. You need to request housekeeping if you need it, but otherwise stellar service. No breakfast was included, but there's 24/7 coffee available with delicious cookies and great seasonal fruits at almost any time of the day and night. It takes 10 minutes to reach the pier and about 15 to get to state street. Overall great location, next to the beach with comfortable access to the 101 interstate. Would definitely recommend.

Husband and I had an absolutely fantastic stay at this beautiful hotel in Santa Barbara! The moment we arrived, we were made feel welcomed by the friendly staff. The room was spacious, elegantly decorated, and impeccably clean. The hotel’s proximity to the beach made it convenient for leisurely strolls along the waterfront. The cookies available in the lobby are sooo delicious. Overall, an unforgettable experience that I would highly recommend to anyone seeking a tranquil getaway in Santa Barbara.

Cienna was excellent, once she heard the hot water ran low she immediately came over to refill it. It’s attentive service like that which turns an average hotel into a boutique experience worth paying for. The welcome drink was also a much appreciated touch. -Daniel Kozuck

Our suite was very nice, good west end location, property clean. Their complimentary beer or sparking wine is a nice touch but have to drink out of the can as only "glasses" are plastic Mason jars or paper cups. Also, beware they do NOT have a breakfast. We had a small "kitchen" (sink, microwave and mini refrigerator) BUT they do NOT provide plates, silverware, bowls, cups, cocktail, wine or champagne glasses. Our Keurig coffee pods were not replaced nor room cleaned. Body wash in the shower was empty. Beware you will also be charged $12 to park on their unsecured property surface lot. We'll try another property next time.

This is such a cute little inn with amazingly stylish decor. I loved the wallpaper in the rooms! It was also very clean and the bed was super comfy. I liked how the sink was outside of the bathroom. The staff was friendly and extra attentive. And not only do they have free coffee, and tea, but they’ve got hot cocoa, too. Sweet!

The hotel is comfortable and in a decent location. They provide a free water upon arrival. I would say generally speaking it is a quality hotel for a reasonable price.

I had a very unfortunate experience with the manager at this hotel who promised to honor my previous reservation that I was not able to make due to sickness. He wanted to get paid twice from Travelzoo and required that I pay for the difference in pricing based on current rate which I agreed to do. The reservation desk agreed but the manager did not. He must be hurting to not only not honor his previous agreement and try to hussle Travelzoo and me for getting paid 3x! I am very disappointed on how the manager of this hotel handled this situation. Due to my poor experience with this hotel, I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND that you support this establishment. There are plenty of other and better hotels in the area.

It was ok. Pros: The inn had great service from check-in, checkout and cleaning. Within walking distance to lots of great tasting rooms and restaurants. Cons: The hotel itself could probably do with a renovation to its floors/ceilings. We were on the first floor and heard someone's intimate performance from upstairs. Book here when it's around $150-180 range. It's a cute hotel where I booked two rooms for the weekend. I'm sure there are other redeeming qualities like the heated pool we didn't get to try.

Neat reception area and drinks are offered. Walkable to the harbor. The rooms are clean, slanted ceiling adds character. Second floor rooms have locked entry. Oatmeal and coffee in the lobby to hold you up before you find real breakfast. Paid parking on site. Very close (walkable to the harbor) to shoreline drive.

Great, friendly service by the front desk. We requested late check out and they were able to accommodate us easily. The check in process was done virtually and was a breeze. Clean room and quiet place to stay. Would recommend!

Great service and nice location a block up from the beach. Recently updated and nicely decorated lobby and room. Liked the nice touches like free warm cookies, coffee and tea in the lobby. The pool and hot tub area was nice and kept up well too. Our king room was large with a pull out sofa and very clean and tastefully decorated. Not much of a view facing out to the pool but that didn’t matter to us. This was more much affordable than other options right on the beach and honestly a lot nicer than many of those as I’ve paid much more for a dingier older room and less perks just to be a half block closer to the beach. I would stay again and definitely recommend to friends and family.

Staff was kind. 2 atar review because it wasn't worth the price. The location is nice for walking to near by restaurants but it's kind of a sketchy area especially at night. Bedding was wet when we arrived. Rooms are small. First floor room windows were not secure enough. Our comforters had blood stains we had to change 3x after that we gave up .why have white linens if you won't spot clean them? It's gross. Rooms are tiny. Was packed even for 2 people. You pay extra if you want a mini fridge. There was no shampoo just the empty bottle and and the mini lotion etc were used. Again not worth the price.

Lovely inn and the rooms have everything you need to be comfortable. The location is beautiful and convenient. The glass of wine and cookies in the lobby is a nice touch. My only complaint is there should be more lounge chairs at the pool.

After a heated discussion with staff they kindly waived the $30 early check in fee for us. Such a lovely place to stay. Great rooms and amenities. A great big carpark for anyone coming by car. The accommodation is in a central spot within walking distance to groceries and restaurants. Lovely well maintained Garden and everything in between.

We were a little skeptical prior to our arrival as we'd read some of the reviews prior to this.. Whilst the price for rooms is slightly on the higher side, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The room was spacious, clean and it seemed newly renovated. The bed was huge and super comfy, as well as the bathroom being really clean and sleek. It was walking distance to a street filled with loads of awesome bars, restaurants as well as the beach. Plenty of room outside to park our car as well as having a pool and hot tub included. Whilst we didn't use either of these, we did venture down for a look and it definitely looked inviting. Had we had more time we would have definitely made more use of these facilities. Definitely a great place to stay, ignore the other negative reviews.

The location was the best thing about Mason Beach Inn and the service was decent however we would not recommend them to a friend and family because the room was not clean! most of the sheets had black spots which we thought was mold! we also noticed that a few soft drinks in the refrigerator were missing not sure if they were refilled! In addition, the parking was too busy.

PROS: Great location because you are able to walk to the beach or the downtown area. Staff wafriendly. Room was clean. Pool was nice. CONS: Our room was at the back of the hotel. We had absolutely no wifi service.we had to walk into the parking lot to send a message or make a call. There was a staircase that shared common wall with our room. Unfortunately there were 2 families that were staying in the rooms that had to use that stairway. So with kids running up and down the staircase, sleeping in was not an option. The building is old school so you can hear EVERYTHING above you. Maybe try to keep the families with younger children on the lower floor.. Beds were a bit firm as well.
