Though everything looked beautiful, the fish tacos were bland ("soso" in Spanish), mango salsa was green and flavorless. Sauce just covered up a cold shrimp burrito. The best part of the restaurant was the music and outdoor seating. We were disappointed after seeing a relatively high rating on Yelp.

The places are very nice, beautiful, varied music not only in Spanish and at a low volume. The only part that I did not like is that you have to line up to order, I like it more is the traditional service of the waiter who takes your order, perhaps due to covid, that is why they have that system, the food was served very quickly, good presentation, The portions are very generous, and most importantly, everything is very delicious. They have a sauce bar with a wide variety. the fresh waters and the margarita were very good with a lot of flavor. we were lucky to find a space in their tiny parking lot they only have about 8 spaces and very small, consider this if you are thinking of coming by car. You can park on the street also. the experience was very good I highly recommend it we will return every time we are here

Great place to try. Good drinks I had the beef taquitos. Love that they are made fresh to order the crunchyness of the tortilla is perfect with each bite. The beans seem blan out of a can. The rice made well but overpower by too much tomatoe paste or sauce Staff is friendly & place is clean

We used Los Agaves to cater our wedding in Camarillo and they were AMAZING! Our friends were excited for us to get married, but when they heard Los Agaves was catering they RSVP'd yes ON THE SPOT! They made the tortillas and grilled on the spot, and everyone went back for seconds and thirds! You can see how beautifully they presented everything as well! We also hired them to work the bar (beer and wine) and they did awesome! Thank you Los Agaves for making our wedding so special!

One of the highest rating restaurant in Santa Barbara area. Great food, and great drinks, what more could you ask for. Everything we ordered was made fresh and you can watch the chefs making it right there. Some of the dishes we tried, Agaves enchilada which is a house specialty it has fish and shrimp, red pepper and onion, chipotle sauce, I would highly recommend this dish. Also the carnitas were excellent and very flavorful. If youโ€™re in the area and love to try some good Mexican food give it a try you will be very happy you did.

Great food, great staff and great ambiance. Authentic Mexican food. Iโ€™ll go back again. Only complain I have is the limited parking but the place is worth waiting for and looking for a parking spot.

Good was great, exceeded my Expectations. We had the chicken alambres and tacos the de queso con raja. Kids menu we ordered a cheese quesadilla and it came with rice. First time our 3 yr toddler tried rice by her choice and loved it.

Although Los Agaves is one block south of La Super-Rica I'll choose their mole and tacos EVERY TIME! Best traditional Mexican food in town. The mole enchiladas and molcajete are a MUST! Patio sitting. Kid and pet friendly.

Probably one of the best Mexican restaurant Iโ€™ve ever dined in. Their enchilada with some creamy mango sauce was out of the world, I asked for some same sauce on the side and the staff happily gave it. The salsa bar was freshest and the guac salsa was perfectly spiced. Had a flight of Margarita as well and it was spot on with the mixes in it. Highly recommended restaurant.

Wow! Just starting with the salsas... Every salsa has so much flavor and spice. The habanero salsa itself was so tasty but the spice was too much for me to handle. The food was delicious and presentation on point! Wish we had one of these locations in Irvine.

Fresh tasting Mexican food! The salsa bar is everything. You know it's a great Mexican restaurant by its salsa. Place can be very busy. You order your food first and get a number. There's outdoor seatings, which is great, especially on a nice breezy day. Came here after a hike and was starving. Ceviche was fresh and chunky w seafood. I loaded up their haberno salsa. Service was efficient and fast. Wish there was a local Los Agaves in LA.

We went for lunch. Got there when the opened. Within about twenty after they had a big crowd. There is a reason for that; the food is legit. It is quieter if you can get a spot on the back patio. Parking can be a challenge but it is worth it. Donโ€™t forget to add a margarita to the order.

Had some enchiladas with red sauce and the molcajete was very delicious. It's a laid back restaurant that fills up quickly for lunch and dinner. A good variety of menu items to choose from and a great salsa bar. Would definitely recommend trying them out if you're in the Santa Barbara area.

My dining experience at Los Agaves Restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. The Agave burrito, a star on their menu, was an absolute delight. It featured a harmonious blend of flavors, with tender fillings that were expertly seasoned. Each bite was a delicious journey of taste, leaving me craving for more. The chips served alongside the velvety guacamole were a perfect companion to the burrito. The chips were impeccably crispy, providing a satisfying crunch, while the guacamole was a creamy and flavorful delight. Together, they formed a dynamic duo that tantalized my taste buds. To complement these culinary delights, I enjoyed a refreshing Jamaica drink. Its sweet and tangy notes provided a perfect contrast to the savory dishes, making it a delightful refreshment throughout the meal. What truly set Los Agaves Restaurant apart was their exceptional customer service. The staff was not only attentive but also incredibly friendly. Their warm hospitality added an extra layer of enjoyment to the dining experience. In conclusion, Los Agaves Restaurant offers not only delicious food but also top-notch service. It's a place where flavors come alive, and where you're treated like a valued guest. I can't wait to return for another unforgettable meal. I cannot wait to eat here again!

I had an incredible experience at this restaurant. Their margaritas were refreshing and expertly crafted, while the tacos were bursting with flavor. The variety of salsas available added an extra zing to every bite. I highly recommend visiting for a lunch or brunch to enjoy their diverse menu. Overall, a must-visit spot for Mexican food enthusiasts.

Its really a beautiful place to eat i would've never thought i had to go up and order and come back to a table with a number...its in the heart of Santa Barbara and has that same historic vibe while still very nice looking. It is a bit pricey! But the food is good and the atmosphere is wonderful. I had the fish and shrimp enchiladas but I swapped out the sauce it came with for a Guadalajara green sauce. Also had a de la flor jamaica with some tequila! It was pretty strong and served in a cute "cantarito". For my daughter she ordered a kids bean and cheese burrito which came with side of rice. The burrito was pretty big for a kids size and tasty! You have to go serve your own salsas and drinks also. They bring you chips and you go serve the salsa to dip them. Oh and I also ordered a small guacamole which was delicious! I will return to try something else when I'm in the area.

Over all the experience was very good. The flautas were impeccable and the salsa bar has a great range of delicious options. Carne asada was ok but itโ€™s a smaller portion for the cost, and they didnโ€™t initially bring out the stuffed pepper and corn tortillas with the meal. Inside it is very clean with a unique decor. Definitely a solid option for a dinner or Mexican food craving in Santa Barbara.

They have indoor and outdoor seating and a decently sized bar. You order at the counter, get a number, and find your own table, where they bring you your food. Self-serve fountain drinks and salsa bar. Gets terribly busy. Chili Verde burrito was not what I'm used to for that dish. The inside wasn't even green. It was more orange/brown, I guess from the so much refried beans? But the meat was tender and really, good. Got a couple of tacos, carne asada and adobada. Very good but the adobada better. Oh, and you get a basket of tortilla chips; warm, thin, and crispy. Quite delicious.

Upon arriving the greeter was really helpful & well I formed about the menu and also showed us where to order, seat and how the order & serve process works. It was our first time here. We ordered Seafood Molcajete(1st picture) and the Whole ceasar Salad. Molcajete: This is what made me give 4star I stead of 5( food rating) The seafood was stale(clams,crawfish/ lobstertale, & another shell fish). The only good thing in the bowl that was good was the fish & shrimps. The sauce too was good. The entire crawfish/lobster was mush once I got it out the shell. The clam tasted really bad too. I would like to go back & try something else because the recommendation said better so I feel it was a mix

One of the best Mexican meals weโ€™ve had in a very long time. Pretty no frills service-wise - order at the counter and they bring you the food. We had a nice spot in the back patio which worked out great. Their salsa bar was crazy good!

Had a great dinner here prior to walking up to the Santa Barbara Bowl... Food was delicious.. I'll be back for sure! It's an interesting place as you order at the cashier then go find your seat..

We were very happy with our family lunch at Los Agaves! Wonderful dining experience. They have ample indoor & outdoor seating. Their ambience & decor is lovely. You place the order at the front counter where they give you a number & you self seat. Drinks & food was brought to the table by the servers. Drinks were great & food was delicious. Everything came quickly. We ordered Nachos & guacamole (not pictured), chicken Fajitas plate, tostada salad, & yum mushroom tacos with garlic & red chilies! You could tell that the Chips & Tortillas were freshly made. They had a bar with toppings & variety of salsa to choose from. Everything tasted fresh & delicious. Their service was awesome too. We will definitely come back when we are in the area.
