Super Cucas

Restaurant Mexican restaurant

👍👍 Super Cucas has amazing vegan options… obviously beans, rice, and guacamole, but then also they have plant-based meats like soyrizo, soya chicken, and soya beef. It’s all perfectly done classic California style Mexican food. Good vibes at the downtown location too, it’s nice to sit outside. And they... People often mention burritos, burrito, Cucas, portions,

One of the best vegan burritos I’ve had so far! We love the soya pastor (#2) and the grilled veggie (#6). Both were so flavorful and had lots of veggies. Love the sauces as well and very reasonably priced for the huge portions! Nice outdoor setup for dining out, just note parking is limited. Will be back again for sure!

Stopped in for burritos. Our take-out sack of just two Super Burritos was quite heavy! No skimping here. We enjoyed our expertly rolled, fully filled and perfectly moist - not wet or dry - wraps. Meats were tender and fresh tasting. Salsas, available on the side, were flavorful and bright. This location provides a small mart for other needs, such as fresh tortillas, chips and cold drinks as well as as what looked to be a full butcher shop. Service was cheerful and speedy.

I've been eating here for 30 years. It's amazing. Never has changed but for the better. The Veggie burrito is the best veggie burrito on the planet. I can say this authoritatively because I've tried veggie burritos on every continent I've been to and none measure up. Is there a veggie burrito on Antarctica? I doubt it. I'm writing this review not because Cucas needs it, but only to thank Cucas for making it real for so many decades. There was no Google (or even barely an Internet) the first time I was introduced to this magnificent place. Since then they've paved the lot, grown the dining space, and just kept making great, real food. Heck, they even got written up in the New York Times travel section. If I lived in Santa Barbara still I'd be here all the time. Love, peace, and all the respect to Super Cucas for being, literally, the best in the world.

I don't understand why it's so hard to add some spices to their meat. I got the specialty burrito. Who puts celery in a burrito. It honestly had no taste whatsoever! Won't be eating here again.

Best Burrito in Santa Barbara, if not all of California. You have arrived at the intersection of the best produce in the USA and the best recipes of Mexico. Low key, all are welcome, Super (Cucas) consistent menu. Personal preference: Super Burrito: no rice, add guac 🥑, pollo or carnitas, and Verde sauce. Bring a friend, it's a lot of food.

We always stop here when we're on the 101 for a filling delicious meal. Reasonable prices and large portions: we should remember to share a burrito instead of each ordering one.

If you don't know this place, you are definitely not a local. Fast Mexican food that always tastes great. Perfect for a "quick" bite. I placed "quick" in quotations because the servings are large. Think forearm size in regards to the super burrito. Always busy, always quick, always good food.

Food was not tasty. The meat was dry and the bread of the tacos was not soft. It was more like the chips used for Nachos...I prefer tje soft bread and it was the first time I faced tacos with that bread...the service was great!

My dish was disappointing in both taste and proportions. It was a giant pile of rice with a few bits of meat on top. Not real carnitas in my mind.

I visit this restaurant every 6 months when I have an appointment at Sansum Clinic. Great breakfast burritos and lunch burritos. I have tried several different meats burritos. Great atmosphere and fun guys in the back of the counter to help you

Portions are enormous - fantastic outdoor patio with both covered and open-air tables. This is an excellent place to bring children, vegetarians, AND vegans (Sorry for lumping you all together - haha). They do have high chairs, booths - as well as tables and chairs. It's located on the corner of Mitcheltorena and San Andreas, so there are cars driving about, but the dining area is set back away from the street. Parking in back (yes, handicapped spots also) - be careful you don't block someone in. I was just here the other day, and mentioned Cuca's was the first restaurant that my family from France was having a meal. Very generously, we were comped a beer, as well as chips and guacamole. It's due to these small - but extremely lovely and thoughtful - gestures that cause me to come back over and over!

This place is truly incredible: large portions, bargain prices, fast, friendly, polite, and helpful service, many vegetarian and vegan options, and nice atmosphere. We ate here four days in a row during our stay in Santa Barbara; it was that good. Can't wait to visit again.

Ok the burritos here are DELICIOUS! I mostly only get the burritos because in my opinion they’re the best item on the menu. The rest of the food is just okay, and the portion sizes are huge, which, if you like a lot of food is good, but it’s too much for me, hence the 4 stars. The meat is always fresh and yummy and the service is super quick. Definitely a great little store.

It was just ok. The Al Padtor pork burrito I got had 2 or 3 lumps of fat I could bear eating in it, and more rice than I like. I didn't realize it was also a butcher shop& a partial market inside also. I liked that there were booths to sit in outside.

Large selection of vegan burritos? As big or bigger than Chipotle, very shareable for two. Lovely laid back outdoor eating, and parking in the back.

Love them & they have ginormous portions! I go a lot. They're all so very kind & helpful. They also have a small butcher section with some veggies. Different drinks to go and some somewhat knots. The picture only shows half of my burrito. 🙊 The seating is outdoors with an umbrella seat or in a loosely enclosed area. There is a bathroom but no handicap bathroom. Tables are handicap accessible.

The burritos are as big as my head and the carnitas are crispy and delicious. A friend got ONE taco and there was so much meat he split the double tortilla and had two tacos.

All the food here was really nasty. No flavor at all, the chips were soggy, the burrito was mostly plain rice, and the agua fresca was just Inca cola. Soooo disappointing

The food is amazing and service is some of the best. They have an excellent menu selection and the staff here are always friendly too.
