Closed:-( very disappointing that the websites have it listed as β€œopen 24 hours.” We hiked a long time to see it and wasted precious vacation time.

The beach itself is nice. Be ready to tackle several stairs to get to the beach. It wasn't bad, but if you're not in shape, I wouldn't attempt it. It's not too busy, which makes it a great stop to relax. I'm not familiar with Santa Barbara beaches. When I got back to my hotel, I noticed my feet were concerned in black blotches. Found out it was oil. Yuck.

I absolutely loved visiting this beach and just walking around this gorgeous area! It was such a blast to see all of the natural beauty and revel in mother nature’s good qualities. There are many people doing diverse activities, and yet, you still feel safe with masks and walking with a certain amount of distance! It’s a great place for a leisurely and calming walk along the seashore.

This beach was quiet and off the beaten path. Less busy than other beaches in the area but parking is awful. Be looking for street parking before you get to the street the stairs are on.

1000 Steps Beach is an absolute gem tucked away along the beautiful coastline. Despite its name, the journey down to the beach is worth every step. As you descend the staircase, you are greeted by breathtaking panoramic views of the sparkling ocean, rugged cliffs, and pristine sandy shores. The natural beauty of this hidden paradise is simply awe-inspiring. Once you reach the beach, you're welcomed by the rhythmic sound of crashing waves and the soft touch of warm sand beneath your feet. The expansive shoreline offers plenty of space to relax, unwind, and soak up the sun. Whether you're a beachcomber searching for seashells, a surfer ready to catch some waves, or simply looking to enjoy a peaceful stroll along the water's edge, 1000 Steps Beach offers it all. Although the climb back up the staircase can be a bit challenging, the incredible coastal views along the way make it well worth the effort. This hidden gem is a must-visit for beach enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. 1000 Steps Beach is a true paradise that will leave you with lasting memories of its beauty and tranquility.

Beautiful and amazing views, but quite steep and slippery to get down. The waves literally splash onto the bottom of the steps. The time we went were quite high tide. Because of the marsh environment, there were growth of algae on the steps which can make it quite slippery and dangerous to get down. Lots of growth of Flying bugs or mosquitoes?? We saw professional photographers taking family pictures at the small sliver of beach area at the bottom.

Beautiful beach and, despite the name, it isn’t 1000 steps down to the beach. About 150 stairs with a good hand rail and you’re there. Make sure you pay attention to the ride because, if it’s high tide, there is no beach to walk. Go during low tide!!

Unique coastal spot that is a worthy stop if you’re passing through. This is not a beach where are you are going to sit down and enjoy the waves. This is a long staircase that leads down directly into the ocean, which is a pretty cool concept. The ocean waves are crashing against the stairs and the handrails which reverberate all the way to the top just makes for some interesting sounds as you’re walking down. Plan to spend about 10 to 15 minutes here. The walk down isn’t very challenging but if you are physically in bad shape, it might be a little hard for you. This makes for some pretty pictures and it’s not very crowded. There’s plenty of street parking but please respect the nearby houses and properties

Came here on a Sunday early morning (Around 7 am). Quiet, peaceful, beautiful walk down the stairs & along the beach. Very unique shells if you like to collect! Highly recommend to check it out even if it's a short walk!

This was an amazing beach. There will be up coming work on the steps to access the beach which may limit access. I believe this work starts March 28, 2022. Well worth the stop. I was able to get street parking a few blocks away. Dogs seem to love this beach.

Beautiful place to visit! Definitely check the weather for high tide as we were not able to enjoy the beach even though the view was beautiful! Parking is limited at the end of a dead end street, the time of day we went was close to 1:00 p.m. and We were the only ones there. I can't really rate the beach itself since we weren't on it but the views are astounding!

I don't really think it was 1000 steps we honestly lost count going up because I distracted us but the walk down and up is very easy. No sweat. Once you get to the bottom watch your step. You will need to jump off or hang on to someone for help off the steps. Great beach for a sunset or sunrise. Unfortunately, I stepped in poop because some people didn't pick up after their dogs. But it was a great walk saw some great sea urchin and collected some beautiful sea shell's.

It doesn't have thousand steps :-) 151 steps to be exact. I like this place. You can get close to the waves without getting wet

Beautiful beach to hike around on and relax watching the sunset. Stairs aren’t bad, only 150 total. Just watch out for high tide, the beach will disappear, waves will hit the cliff side and the stairs are your only way off the beach.

i do not know if we had flood but according to other images that i have seen, it was flood when we have visited it it is not worth the way to go there from port. but of course nice streets around to walk through but at the end when we have visited it was only stairs with big stones at the end

Thousand steps to the beach. The stairs were not precipitous, so it’s a nice place for families. The view was really good!

This beach is a lot like Torrey pines of San Diego. Great views. Dogs seem to be allowed here, we had a bunch of dog visitors while we casually strolled around.
