I pondered a fifth star, because I really loved this place, but our bed was absolutely terrible. It was more like a bowl. Finally when we were double checking for things we forgot as we packed to leave, we noticed that the supporting legs that were supposed to hold up the middle were folded up, accomplishing nothing. Whups. Easy mistake I guess. The rest of the place was fun, clean, nicely designed, and old enough to have a history. Every employee I interacted with was really nice, and actually knew what they were doing. The pool is clean and the hot tub actually works! Great price too.

If you're looking for a basic room for a night or two, I'd recommend staying here. It's also pretty close to the 101 and is located just 15mins outside downtown Santa Barbara. If you're on a budget, I'd highly recommend staying here.

We literally found clipped toenails on our beds so we kindly asked the front desk to change our sheets. The front desk employee brought us new sheets, but rudely told us to change them ourselves as it is not his job to do so... Dirty rooms and poor customer service. Do not stay at the sandyland reef inn.

Though little dated facility, but everything is clean in proper order: towels don't smell Clorox, microwave, fridge, good size bathroom and standing shower, like the open window in bath for fresh air. Only thing - missing room coffee maker ! It's on the highway, but turned sideways, so it's decently quiet

My absolute favorite hotel. I’ve stayed here multiple times, and it is such a good value for the going weekday rates. Front desk staff is always kind, the rooms feel modern and aquatic, coffee in the mornings, and close proximity to the beach and freeway.

There is no motel that can beat this place anywhere near Santa Barbara or in Carpinteria. The room and amenities are fantastic for the price. I want to give a special thanks to the front desk team, what an absolute group of rockstars! Both juniors were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to help me get settled and feel right at home! Thank you JR from PM shift for being so professional, thank you JR from overnight for helping me jump start my car. Isaac was very cool and friendly and made me feel welcome. The ladies at the front desk were also nothing short of amazing! Thank you all.

The worst customer service and manager. Lady with the worst attitude and manners. My husband and I are hard working people. After long day of work we needed somewhere to spend a night on the road. They refused the service, treated us like low class people, manager was just ignoring us refused to help and canceled our room. Find somewhere else to stay the worst experience we have ever received.
