We came here for dinner and had an excellent dining experience! We requested a table outside to soak in the harbor views and even though it was a little chilly, they had plenty of heaters turned on which made it extremely comfortable sitting outside. Their menu had a bunch of really tasty looking dishes and we ended up ordering the Braised Beef Short Ribs and the Roasted Chicken. Both had phenomenal flavor and came with a good amount of tasty extras mixed in that complimented the main dish flavor. Their dessert menu looked tempting but we were too full from our dinner. Overall this was a great dining experience!! Be sure to make a reservation…we booked a table for a Monday night and they were slammed the entire night with people waiting outside.

Toma had some of the best Italian food we've ever had! My mom and I had the lasagna and were blown away. It was so delicious with fresh basil on top. My sister enjoyed the ravioli too. The winner of the meal was the Belgian chocolate torte... oh my goodness!!! This was truly one of the best desserts I've EVER had! Absolutely divine! The cocktails are also very good and strong. ;-) This was definitely one of our favorite restaurants in Santa Barbara.

My husband and I were in Santa Barbara for one night and came to this restaurant close to our hotel because of all the great reviews. We were not disappointed! We shared grilled octopus for starter, gnocchi and half rack of lamb for main and everything was so tasty! Toma Bellinis are nice too!

Recommend making reservations prior to eating. Ambiance 5/5 Wine selection 5/5 Food 5/5 My wife and I came based on reviews from trip advisor and we were not disappointed. Initially we sat at the bar but were able to get a table when someone didn't show up for their reservation. The ambiance is great for a date night or small group dinner. Candle light and low level lighting ambiance. Large wine selection for wines within the United States as well as Itialian wines. Our food was delicious. There is complimentary bread and butter as well as battered and fried olives stuffed with blue cheese (seen in the photos). Many fine dining Italian restaurants do small portions for their main course but I was surprised with the size of the portions. We ordered the gnocchi, rigatoni, and mushroom risotto. Everything was phenomenal. We were too full to order any dessert. Would highly recommend coming here for dinner.

Food, staff, and ambience of this restaurant were all excellent. All the food were cooked perfectly. We really enjoyed the outdoor seating to the open ocean breeze. We ordered: tomato lobster bisque, arugula salad, grilled octopus appetizer, scallop and lamb chops, then shared a lemon cake dessert.

The food was amazing - I had the lamb chops. Portions were decent for main courses, and the ambience was excellent. We couldn't decide between the desserts so we got almost all of them, and none of them disappointed. Highly recommended.

Great Italian food. A little pricey, but worth the splurge. We had a wonderful family dinner on our last night with our three picky and opinionated teenagers that loved equally as well.

We tried Toma's for the first time and were so impressed. The outdoor patio was so nice. We had a nice view of the beach that was across the street, beautiful outdoor lighting and a cozy romantic atmosphere. It really reminded me of Italy. We were so lucky to get Linda as our waitress. She was so sweet and caring and attentive to every detail. She wanted to make sure that we had a great experience. We were celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary. She served us stuffed olives and great bread. We had the lasagna and rigatoni. Omg, both entrees were so delicious. We really enjoyed our arugula salad too. The wine was excellent. Linda surprised us with a strawberry sorbet with a candle and wished us a Happy Anniversary. Thank you Linda. Try Toma's, you won't be disappointed. The food is excellent.

First time eating at this magnificent italian restaurant. We were seated outside and had perfect evening weather. We were started with bread and olives! Olives may be a little salty but if paired with wine they are divine. We had the Arugula Salad and Calamari and the salad was very refreshing and light. Calamari was crispy and cooked to perfection. We ordered the Rigatoni and the the Roasted Chicken. The Roasted Chicken was so good; mouth watering and worth making the trip. The Rigatoni is full of flavor and hearty and holds the thick sauce great! We ended the night with the Phyllo Crisp; the berry sauce was sweet and tangy and I loved the strawberries inside the mousse. The service was great, my friends was rescued from getting locked inside the bathroom (user error- she didn't know how to open the door). Staff was polite and attentive. If you sit outside you get the fresh ocean air but you will hear any emergency vehicles passing by. The pricing is more than fair for the quality of service and food. I highly recommend and will return again whenever I'm in Santa Barbara!

Wow! I'm Italian and this place was fabulous. I had the most amazing hand made ravioli, but I still can't get over the bread 🥪 and deep fried stuffed green olives 🫒 . My friend had the light as air shrimp gnocchi. Wonderful cocktails and service!

We went there for our wedding night celebration dinner and we were not disappointed! The service was amazing and the atmosphere made us feel like we were in Europe! The Roasted Chicken which was jucy but still had a Crispy Skin to it was amazing combined with the Mushroom Ristto! Also Pasta was to die for! EVERYONE enjoyed their meals which is rare for our group of friends who have very different taste palates. Definitely will recommend!

So good. Everything was exceptional. It was late Saturday night, our last night visiting and we had our heart set on Italian. Originally we wanted to go to a different restaurant but that didn't work out and I'm so glad. We came to Toma and they had a table available for us right away. Turns out the owner was the one who greeted us. He was so kind and even though we don't dress up, I felt like we were treated so well. Some places aren't like that and you can get treated differently if it's a high end restaurant and you don't fit in (ie the other Italian restaurant we tried to go to first). Not Toma. Everyone was so nice. We ended up switching tables shortly after we sat down and they were super great about that too. The owner is hands on and friendly with all the guests. We had the ravioli and the lasagne and both dishes were amazing. The seasonings and flavors were so well prepared. And my husband picked up a new idea for his lasagne at home. He's usually underwhelmed with lasagne since he likes to make his own but Toma's impressed him. We also had the warm chocolate torte and citrus olive oil cake. So delicious. They really made our night. Also George is a hoot btw. Funny guy. Thank you Tom for your amazing customer service!

We enjoyed ourselves and would go again but the meal itself was just ok. We both had their cioppino, which was OK because it had a nice amount of seafood but as cioppinos go it wasn't the best. The broth lacked, or should I say, had zero seafood flavor. I asked the waiter how it was made and he confirmed my suspicions, the shell fish is cooked outside the broth then added to it to be served, a no no. As a self proclaimed cioppino expert they're making a terrible mistake not cooking the shellfish in the broth. The best cioppino can be found at Tadich Grill in San Fran. All others are compared to that one, Toma's doesn't even come close.

Every time I'm in Santa Barbara, I have to dine in this restaurant. The food is light, healthy, and tasty at the same time. The Spanish octopus appetizer is divine; the arugula salad is fresh and nicely seasoned. The restaurant honors side dish substitutions without additional charge, something I value, especially regarding health-related dietary restrictions.

We went here for my husband’s birthday. Everything was perfect from the second we stepped in until we left. My favorite dishes were the fried artichokes, the grilled octopus and the crispy phyllo desert. My husband’s favorite was the fried artichokes also and seafood tagliatelle! The fried blue cheese olives were so good too!

This restaurant deserves all the stars! I have tried on several occasions visiting SB to go to Toma but couldn't get a reservation. I know why -- it is so darned delicious, the location for patio seating is so beautiful, and the service is exceptional. I had the best gnocchi of my life, and every single thing we ate or drank was perfectly prepared and presented. Our server was super nice and everyone helping our table were the best. I would highly recommend this place if you are visiting Santa Barbara. Can't wait to go back.
