👍👍 Pleasant Surprise! When my friend and I entered the restaurant we were greeted by the pretty hostess Amy who told us to take any seat. She promptly asked us if we coffee or something else. We both had coffee. It wasn't S$bucks but was OK (I had 3 cups) and exactly what I would expect at a breakfast... Pleasant Surprise! When my friend and I entered the restaurant we were greeted by the pretty hostess Amy who told us to take any seat. She promptly asked us if we coffee or something else. We both had coffee. It wasn't S$bucks but was OK (I had 3 cups) and exactly what I would expect at a breakfast restaurant. Now on to breakfast. My friend wasn't too hungry so he opted for fruit and fries. The fruit was fresh and the fries tasty. I had the pastrami omelette, onions and home fries. OMG best home fries ever. Seriously my friend and I were so happy with such a simple thing. The omelette was really good and I could cut the pastrami with a fork. 😁 Looking for a traditional breakfast cafe? Garrett's is it!

We had all American breakfast, YUMMY! Wherever we go, we always always look for local place for foodie, local experience. This place isn’t disappointing, highly recommended. What great staff too, pretty attentive to your needs. Will definitely come back again.

My first american dining experience! Really liked the food, especially the pancakes. They also offer vegetarian breakfast :) The staff was super friendly!

Delicious food! Fun small-town diner vibe. I had the ham & cheese omelet and pancakes. Would definitely eat here again.

Delicious Avocado, Bacon, Cheeseburger! Home fries would have been better than the French fries, but otherwise good! Service and friendly staff excellent! Diner atmosphere was a bit smoky with grease from cooking but good food and value.

It was crazy busy but definitely worth the wait. I'm picky about my French toast and it was perfect. It had a nice crust on the outside but still soft on the inside. Coffee was also super delicious. Small but great place to try. It won't disappoint!

Good diner food with great service at a reasonable price. I had eggs Benedict and a blueberry pancake. No complaints at all. I was traveling alone in CA that week and found that most places do not invest much in single patrons, which is a shame. HOWEVER Garrett's was the exception - THANK YOU!

Stopped here for breakfast on a Friday morning. We were seated right away. Waitress came over after a few minutes. Keep in mind there is only one server. She took our drink order and brought menus. Coffee and drinks came out a few minutes later. She took our order and the food came out in a reasonable time. The food was okay, I can say my pork porch breakfast could have used a little more flavor and seasoning. The rest of the group agreed the food wasn't the greatest for their prices. Service was great but the food can use a little more love and flavor.

Old school diner with all the staples on the menu. Fast, efficient and courteous service. Not gourmet but then not meant to be for traditional American breakfast...

Not going for the atmosphere going for the bomb food and service. Best quick style breakfast in S. B. Biscuit and gravy and two over easy eggs 20 minutes later back on 101.

Delicious breakfast, very fast and no fuss. Relaxed setting. If bacon was cooked fresh, would have been amazing. Overall you’d get the typical American breakfast experience.

This place is rad. Old school diner with a bar. Solid patty melt! Definitely going to hit this place up for breakfast next time we are in Santa Barbara.

I love going to small diners and cafe’s. Had the French toast, and a side of hash browns, both were cooked to perfection. Parking isn’t the best, but that’s most of Santa Barbara.

This is a great, classic American diner. Quality food made with real ingredients. The service was incredible, very friendly staff. They even had some history of Santa Barbara on the walls. The place could use some remodeling, but the food and classic diner experience is worth it!

Great food. Great service. Best biscuits and gravy I've ever had! Atmosphere is that of an old diner, but everything runs pretty smoothly. Staff is happy and seem to be glad you're there. NO parking except street parking. Kind of difficult to navigate when you walk with a cane, but we were able to find parking within a quarter of a block. Highly recommend.

This is my new "go to" spot for breakfast is SB. The Monte Cristo breakfast sandwich is a must, and the owners are super friendly.

I love that this place still looks and feels like old Santa Barbara. Not glitzy, just good food in a down-to-earth setting. Service was absolutely perfect as well. Glad I stopped in!

The customer service when I went was not exceptional. The restaurant itself wasn't very clean either. Staff was yelling at a homeless person that was banging on the bathroom door. In terms of the quality of the food, I would compare it to Dennys on a bad day. The hash browns and eggs were overcooked. In general, I'd say you get what you paid for, but this place was definitely overpriced for what I got. (Around $15-20 per meal) If you're wanting to try a new breakfast place in Santa Barabara, I do not recommend coming here.

This is the place to go if you want to experience old school dining. The staff was very friendly and the prices were reasonable for what you got. The coffee refill was very nice too. Would love to come back again someday!

Waitress was nice and very experienced. Maybe owner? Fresh squeezed orange at 4.95 a glass. Coffee was fresh and very hot just the way my husband enjoys his coffee. Pancakes are cooked well and fluffy. I was very disappointed with the home fries though. After reading Rave reviews about them I wanted to try them. I think I make mine better at home to tell you the truth. First of all it’s a small portion. I have had more at other breakfast places. And they put no salt or anything to flavor them. Even the onion needed to be cooked a little more. It’s just the potatoes and a lot of diced onion and a little sprinkle of orange bell pepper and green. That’s it. No flavor. I think they should fry them with at least a tiny bit of salt. Anyway thought I would share with you. It was a very busy place and I can see many locals enjoy to go orders and eating there. I might try them again in The future and try there omelettes.

The meal was fine. Just don't even think about ANY parking spot you might see in the lot out back! They will tow you at the blink of an eye - it's the neighbors, not the restaurant.

Cute little restaurant. Our waitress was very friendly. She let me make an adjustment to my order. I loved the pancakes, eggs, house fries and sausage. Oh. The orange was very good too! I will definitely be back next time I'm in Santa Barbara!

We came to this place for breakfast while we were in town in Santa Barbara, and even though it was good food and the server was very nice and had a great personality, we were a little bit disappointed with the sanitary things we saw happening. We saw water glasses being prefilled ahead of time. They left the front door open, letting flies in. She cut our toast after dealing with money. The scoop that was used to fill the salt up was left in the container after use. There was hair in between the menu on 2 separate pages Very unsanitary items. Even though I had the burger patty mixed in with eggs. I didn't like seeing these things right before my eyes, while sitting at the counter as these things were ok for them. I won't be back. And unfortunately I do not recommend.
