Delicious food and great portions! I usually get the hash (pictured) or fried chicken burger 😍 which I’m hoping they bring back once they have their whole menu available again. It’s probably my favorite chicken sandwich in town.

Great breakfast/brunch spot. Nice strong coffee. Ordered the chorizo hash special. I have a tendency to make modifications to things like this, but I ordered it as-is. Every ingredient was so fresh and delicious. I felt like the portion was generous for the higher price tag (welcome to Santa Barbara). The only piece that was average was the side of black beans - not bad, just nothing amazing. Will definitely be back!!

The food was good but for 2 entreés and 2 drinks we spent $60 for breakfast. That’s a little outrageous for the small portions. Mine is the one pictured but my friend’s was awkwardly sparse in his plate. My freshly squeezed orange juice was $9 and the Madagascar vanilla latte was close to $6 for a cup…how?? The staff were extremely friendly and had a great service but the food pricing needs fixing.

Had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately it fell a little flat for me. The food was presented beautifully, but flavor wise it was just basic…guess I expected it to taste as good as it looked. I’m no chef, but the addition of a good Boursin cheese here would have made the difference!! Not only would it have added to the overall flavor profile of the dish, but it would have helped the vegetables stay inside of the role as you cut in it to eat it versus falling out immediately, as it did, without anything to adhere to. Maybe they will read this and consider and if so, I’d be happy to give it a shot and report back! 😉

What a wonderful jewel This place is. It's very colorful and lively place with a nice mellow atmosphere. Just a few blocks from the beach on lower State Street. I can't say enough about this place, you get what you pay for here. I am a native Santa Barbarian and very picky about my huevos rancheros, this is absolutely the best I've ever had in my life! Plus the coffee is better than most coffee houses. Kudos, kudos, kudos. And the staff could not be nicer.

Really great! I love how they mark your tables with emoji vs numbers. Nice little touch. I had the hash which was great. Wry flavorful and filling. My wife had the avocado toast. I don’t know what kind of wheat bread they use but very good and hearty. Would come back for sure.

Dawn Patrol in Santa Barbara is a breakfast haven. Their spicy chai is a flavor-packed delight, and the Patrol Combo offers a perfect mix of morning favorites. But the real star is the "build your own hash" option, allowing you to create a customized breakfast masterpiece. It's a must-visit spot for breakfast enthusiasts, offering a delicious and customizable start to your day.

Got the Japanese omelette special, it was phenomenal. Eggs so fluffy and soft, I’m not sure I’ll ever have an egg so good :(. I wish I could cast it in resin and keep it on my shelf to remember this egg. The pancake was good too. The staff were very helpful and kind. Overall 10/10 brunch experience.

Excellent California style breakfast spot tucked away on State Street. Highlights are the friendly staff, the fast service, and customizable “build your hash” breakfast meals. Service is fast and friendly here because you order at the counter. Once ordered, you can sit down and wait for your food and enjoy paid for but unlimited coffee and enjoy the views. We ate quickly and everyone was friendly. The food is also excellent here. The customizable hash and egg plates are really good and come with a small spring mix salad and toast! They have everything from breakfast burritos to skillets and healthy options. I trust every dish here is delicious. I highly recommend the hash plates! I’d highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast and or lunch. It’s pricey like most things in Santa Barbara but worth it!

Overall not a bad experience but may not return. Read enough reviews about DP & you will get a sense it's an average tasting experience, with great service , and fairly expensive cost given the food you will receive. Service was great. attentive , and food came out promptly.

We had breakfast here and it was so good! There were so many choices on the menu, and all sounded so good that it was hard to choose. My latte was one of the best I have had. They roast their own coffee as well. Fun, chill vibe. Casual and laid back with great service. I would be here all the time if I lived in the area. They offer indoor and outdoor seating with a great variety of choices on their menu.

Four of us sat down for breakfast and the bill was $150 with a 15% tip. For a counter service spot the prices reflect somewhere you’d expect linen tablecloths and full service, however the Chorizo Pasilla Eggs Benedict was incredibly delicious and everyone else enjoyed their meals.

Very friendly service. Built our own hash, with bacon, russet potatoes and salsa verde, was very good. Ample seating inside and outside.

The hash is incredible!!! They make it to order and customize it the way you like it. Fantastic! The homemade jam for the toast is also to die for. Great place for brunch!

My daughter recommended we go here and after sitting there for a few minutes I figured out why. There are 3 gyms in the area including a rock climbing gym. Let's just say, she was busy and distracted. But hey, at least she wasn't on her phone. One of my biggest pet peeves is not being able to park. There is a nice big parking lot across the street that is free for the first 75 minutes. You must order at a counter, which isn't bad, I suppose, but the prices reflect someone to serve you. They let you pick out your own emoji table marker so they know where to bring the food. I thought that was kind of fun, a new way to express yourself at a breakfast joint. I totally missed the build your own hash, not sure how, it is front and center. I think it is trying to choose something reading off a big sign as you approach the counter. I was only looking under the board entitled breakfast. Not good under pressure maybe??? I ordered a very simple breakfast called The Patrol Combo; 2 eggs, bacon, garlic roasted potatoes. They only had one type of bread, sour dough, which I thought was strange. It wasn't even 10 am on a Thursday. I read on another review they were out of bread, so common theme? All in all, it was very standard. One thing I noted is the bacon looked way too crispy, over cooked, but it really wasn't. It was really good. Another, is the attention to detail, like adding the chives for decoration on the eggs. I thought that was a nice touch. My daughter had the eggs Benedict which she finished before I really even saw it. She said it was good. I would like to go back and try the build your own hash. I think that is where the 5 stars lie. I would also recommend going on a weekday so you don't have to wait in a long line.

The food is the definition of casual, very standard and good selection. Taste wise it was okay, it did however look very appealing which is a plus. I ordered beef Chilaquiles and I really have no complaints that are negative. The coffee was good nice and flavorful.

The gentleman working, Julio is his name, was so kind and attentive. He suggested a few things and he was not wrong when he said we'd love it!! And when we asked what it had, his response was "lots of love". Something this world is missing and I'm glad they are here to share that with everyone 😊 we did the build a hash and man it was huge! We will definitely be back to enjoy more of their delicious food and love!

Delicious meal! Food was served hot and fresh. I also appreciate that they brew a dark and strong French Roast coffee. Will definitely be back!

Excellent breakfast spot, they had really good reviews and I haven’t been there since I lived in Santa Barbara. One of the best gluten-free pancake platters I have come across! Also had a really good burrito with over easy eggs, black frijoles, and more cheese then tortilla. Dad had a phenomenal make your own scramble, the potatoes were done to perfection. I was a little bit jealous of his breakfast in fact!

Amazing food! I ordered the Chorizo Hash which was delicious. It was one a seasonal specials but it was so famous and kept getting requested so they had to put it on their menu. So you should definitely give it a try! the service was great, everyone was super friendly.

Their make-your-own-hash option was great! Eggs benedict was ok-ok

Best breakfast in Santa Barbara. Best Gluten Free Pancakes in SB. Friendly and efficient service. Quiet the 2x I was there recently. I hope they are doing enough biz

Great atmosphere, friendly and welcoming service, great crowd. The menu is awesome and really well executed. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Had Eggs Benny and it was so good that I could have had more even though I was stuffed. Excellent latte! It’s really unfortunate that Google reviews doesn’t have a 6-Star option, because this place would absolutely be getting it. 15/10
