Oh my goodness gracious! An entire array of delicious gluten free pastries and breads meant we bought lunch, then took dessert and a load of bread to go. Service with a smile made this a perfect day. Go early. You'll want to take your time to enjoy every bite.

Visited from out of town 3x in a row- the baked goods are delicious (brownie is rich, lemon bar crust was perfect), the French toast was fluffy, and the egg sandwich was delicious. Also had the ham & cheese quiche which had a crispy crust. Highly recommend!

Staff was friendly and efficient the bathrooms were clean and stocked. The food was so amazing that upon discovering they can ship the loaves I am going to be ordering my bread regularly from here. Fanciest and one of the best tasting gluten free restaurants I’ve been to yet. Disappointed I live far away

This place is outstanding! So good the first visit we came back again the very next day. We had the Lilac Salad (with tuna), the veggie sandwich, coffee cake, chocolate macaroons, avocado toast, veggie quiche and all were amazing! Jamella went out of her way to make us feel welcomed and took such great care of us on both visits! Thank you! What a special spot I wish we had in San Diego!

Came here for a birthday breakfast while on a little weekend getaway and was so impressed!! The food (especially the roasted potatoes and vegan banana bread muffin) was SO delicious! Saving the vegan carrot and red velvet cupcakes to have later, but I’m sure they will be divine as well. The servers were all so kind and helpful, and the place was beautiful, warm, and welcoming. Tempted to make the 3 hour drive from where I live just to have breakfast here!!!

We got a green tea, the vegetable quiche, a dirty chai latte and a breakfast sandwich. The food was good. The quiche was dead on, and the breakfast sandwich was pretty good as well. I had higher hopes for the brioche my sandwich was made with, but maybe it just wasn't their best bake. The drinks were enjoyable though. My biggest complaint here is value. With tip, our breakfast was $50, and honestly it just wasn't worth that. The place is pretty cute though, and the people are friendly. I personally wouldn't make the return trip for breakfast anyway, but I can understand why someone would.

This is a fantastic gluten-free bakery. Everything here is delicious and they also serve breakfast and brunch items. They close at 2pm so make sure to come early.

My friend was visiting from out of State. It was her last day here, we decided to go to breakfast. The Lilac Patisserie was number 1 on our list. The reviews were good and the "word" around town said it was a treat not to be missed! We got there when they opened. We ordered, were given a number and we sat down to wait. My friend ordered Eggs Benedict, and I had French Toast with a side of Applewood Smoked Bacon. We had coffee with cream. My French Toast came with sweet, tasty strawberries & blueberries. There was real maple syrup served warm. My Toast was Gluten Free which was a big selling point for me. Our coffee came in individual porcelain pour pots and a small glass container of cream. Everything tasted great! The staff was warm and friendly. Everything was served with a smile, and it all looked (and smelled) awesome. The restaurant itself was so pretty and clean. The inside is painted a light lavender color with white touches. The floor had that tile called "Penny Tiles". There are high ceilings and lots of glass. They have lots of delicious-looking cakes, and other baked goods made right on the premises. Be aware though, that not everything on the menu is offered daily. The baked good will fluctuate, as there isn't enough room for all of it. You may want to check out their website for specific cakes and order them ahead of time. We parked in the public lot behind the restaurant on Figueroa. If you are lucky enough to grab street parking, go for it. The restrooms are clean.

YES, YES, YES! I have found the holy grail of gluten-free pastries and it’s right here in Santa Barbara!! Even if you aren’t #gf be prepared to be blown away! Coffee cake so light, fluffy and buttery, you’d swear it wasn’t gluten free! Their chocolate orange scones are also perfectly crisp around the edges with a tender crumb! Both are A MUST try for any pastry lover!!

I have dreams about the Berry Patch Cake from here and not just because it was our wedding cake. And I love that they sell it by the slice as well. I frequent Santa Barbara to visit family often and this cake from there is a must. And it's gluten free. So your belly won't ache after if you're sensitive like me.

This was the best gluten-free everything! We have waffle with berries and french toast with berries. They were excellent. The chocolat chaud was amazing. I try the thick cut breads and brownie. The atmosphere was beautiful and peaceful. I truthful cant say a thing that not wonderful experience.

The whole bakery/cafe is gluten free. Everything was so delicious. Stand out items were the lemon bars, brownies, blueberry muffins, quiche, croque monsieur, eggs Benedict, and their breads. My husband also said the chocolate chip cookie and raspberry linzer cookies were great. Also excellent lattes (especially the salted caramel one)

We had breakfast at this place. Very nice staff and, you can choose a table, polite attentive staff, the waiter especially wiped the table for us. They have delicious pastries. The atmosphere is pleasant, with a bright large room, and pleasant music. There are tables outside. The food is delicious, fresh. Above average prices

We came for breakfast, pasties and pies. Everything was heavenly! Some in our group had gluten free needs and some did not but everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I ordered the Lilac Breakfast with a side of avocado and everything was cooked perfectly. We also tried an assortment of pastries and I think the blueberry lemon tart was my favorite.

The house made latte syrups are to die for, as is every baked good. I didn’t have the pleasure of sitting down for a meal but every plate that came out of the kitchen looked fresh & more beautiful than the last. This won’t be your cheapest coffee/baked good/meal but the quality is guaranteed.

Gluten free zone. Okay so with that said all the food was pretty decent. Nothing really packed a punch in terms of flavor but I think this was on purpose. The flavor profiles are light and easy to eat. Nothing is super sweet or overbearing. My waffles were great!! Loved those, finished every bite. Would go again.

I had the coffee cake and a brownie, and my gluten-free friend had the coffee cake and a blueberry muffin. We also had coffee. Everything was a 10/10! I could not tell that everything was gluten-free, and my friend was able to enjoy pastries without becoming ill afterwards. If you have any doubts about this place, cast them aside and come enjoy all of the deliciousness Lilac Patisserie has to offer.

One of the best gluten free bakeries I have been to! We were traveling through California and we had to stop while in Santa Barbara. The cheesecake was out of this world, which says a lot as I enjoy making cheesecake at home. I also really enjoyed the coconut macaroons! They have a full breakfast and lunch menu with mimosas, if we ever make it back to CA I will make it a priority to come there and eat in restaurant. I took a grilled cheese sandwich to go, it was really good 😍

One of the best gluten free cafe ever. The cheesecake is to die for as are the buttermilk pancakes. Highly recommend lunch and breakfast menu.

Didn't disappoint. Good food and friendly staff, but no straws? They said they ran out, really?!

The albacore salad on olive bread or on top of the Lilac Salad are favorites. All the food and pastries are delicious. Great for breakfast of lunch. Beautiful and clean decor with plenty of seating. Staff is always friendly.

At first it seems like a great place (very European) the pastries are tasty but have a defrosted taste - the food is way overpriced - Had the Lilac Breakfast (2 eggs, bacon and a small ration of potatoes…$20 - left a sour taste

Incredible place! As someone who has no choice but to eat gluten free, this place is a wonderland. Everything is incredible. Even my husband, who is not gluten free, loved everything he tried and says the waffles are the best he's had.

It’s ok, I wasn’t impressed Service is good but the food is just ok I ordered the salmon plate and the greens were stale and didn’t really like the dish The sandwich was nothing out of the ordinary Cake selection is limited and you can enjoy a good slice I got the decadent chocolate cake, it was really good Lemon bars were good too Limited baked items so don’t look at the menu item, most of the items seem seasonal

Love the atmosphere and amazing goodies! Not just for people who eat gluten free. Would definitely come back again

I'm sure it depends on time of day, but parking sucked. Expect to park on the street, or get dropped off by whoever is driving. We came on a Friday around 3:00-4:00. The shop is spacious and minimally decorated but so cute! I didn't get a chance to try any of the other flavors but the melon I got, was good. I just wish I didn't get it in a cone, as it's sorbet and not milk based to match the taste of the cone. The service was friendly, and I would definitely come back to try the other flavors. But again, parking sucks.
