What an amazing experience! We had such a good evening here. We had to wait 20 min because it was so busy. So we decided to have some sushi as a starter and a beer. The sushi was some of the best sushi I've had compared to places I've been all over the world. Good quality fish and big portions. The service was extremely fast. When we moved to our table the waiter we got really did an excellent job with his service. We had to wait a while for our chef and the waiter actually came to apologise and kept us posted on our chef arriving soon. All in all we had a very good time at this restaurant. The staff is friendly, efficient and helpful. We had four different types of fish and everything was cooked perfectly! Well done Hibachi Steak House & Seafood.

BEWARE!!! - UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP 👎👎👎 Prices are up but menu is worse We went Saturday August 27, 2022 for a party of 8. Specifically we were there to celebrate a birthday. Service was a bit slow in the beginning but we gave them a pass since they looked busy and my party all had past work experience in food/retail jobs. Our server did not check on us once in the entire time - instead a female busser was kind enough to notice our sodas and drinks were running low. I asked the waiter which wine he would recommend and he said "uhhhh well I'm not really a wine guy..." It doesn't matter if you like wine, you should still know them if you're a waiter and are asked a question or be able to recommend a person that can better assist in that. I was astounded that the waiter completely FORGOT ABOUT SUSHI ORDERS FOR 3 PEOPLE IN OUR PARTY OF 8 but they of course remembered to charge the shared plate fees! The whole point of doing a shared plate is because 1 person wants a little hibachi and to also order sushi. My plate was also taken without being asked if I wanted to take this to go. I had over 1/2 a container of rice left and most of my vegetables. I didn't get my sushi and didn't get my to go bag either.... The real cherry on top is that the server STILL charged a 20% gratuity because we were a party of 8 (he obviously forgot that he forgot to bring us a huge chunk of our order) however I made sure to ask that they remove the gratuity (would have been at least a $60 gratuity based on our bill and it would have been even more had they remembered to place our 6 ORDERS of sushi)! Under this new ownership I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK EVER AND I WILL MAKE SURE TO SPREAD THE WORD OF THE TERRIBLE SERVICE. THIS IS A PLACE MY FAMILY WOULD COME FOR MOST BIRTHDAYS BUT YOU BETTER BELIEVE WE WON'T BE BACK! I plan on letting everyone know especially since I let the manager (woman in tan blouse) what happened and requested she remove the share plate fees since we would have ordered our own hibachi had we known there would be no sushi! She explained that it's a charge when an entree is shared...I was so annoyed at that point we just left because we didn't want to be late for axe throwing P.S. - the hibachi chef was cool, the chefs should definitely be getting more in tips than the useless waiter we had today

Honestly, this place is pretty mediocre after changing their owners. This used to be my favorite sushi spot but when we came in they didn’t have the same options and the rolls we ordered were nothing compared to what they used to make. The Mexican roll was a huge disappointment:( Was super excited to come here but I think I’ll be looking for another sushi place. Also they used to have Japanese sushi chefs but now they’re not and I wonder if that has an affect on the sushi…

Eat here! Gluten free options are not obviously labeled, but they will work with you. Gluten free soy sauce is available. Terrific, fast and friendly service. Charming atmosphere. Great for date night or a work lunch or dinner.

Stumbled across this place and pleased we did. Watching our food cooked before our eyes was great and our steaks and salmon were delicious.

My man, shout out to the people in the sushi bar. They are awesome and friendly. Sushi is goooddd, bento boxes are good, plenty of food. Needs to teach more to the servers to know when to interact with the customers, I don't the my server every 4 min asking if I'm ok or of he or she can take away a plate.

Guys if you love teppanyki or hibachi style cooking, well this is the place to if your in SB. We had chicken and rib eye steak combo and it was delicious.. with the miso soup and Japanese style garden salad..just wow. We also ordered a sushi roll to share and it's was fantastic. The chef was very entertaining, and the atmosphere was great. If you see my picture there was hardly any people there, so we where we'll taken care of..

This is a nice place to come to if you're looking for sushi. It's located on lower state st on the 500 block. It's got everything you would want in a Japanese steakhouse including sushi. I usually get the California roll and the crunchy roll when I come here. I think they are better than other rolls that they offer. The crunchy roll is paired with some really nice sweet eel sauce which is good. This is place decent, but I generally go to other spots in town for sushi.

My wife and I ate here for the first time recently. We sat at the sushi bar and started with some very satisfying miso soup. We've both had dishwater-miso elsewhere recently, so this was a great start. We then had a couple of "Premium House" rolls for dinner. They were large, I thought they were exceptionally good looking, and we enjoyed both of them. The sushi chef who helped us was great, and seemed quite knowledgeable. There was also a server who took our drink orders and checked in on us at reasonable intervals, but seemed as if she might be a trainee. So all-in-all a good dinner.

The worst hibachi restaurant I have ever been to. The teriyaki chicken tasted like it was made by someone who had never tasted teriyaki sauce. The yum-yum sauce was the same - it was white, not pink, and it did not taste like yum-yum sauce. It had little flavor at all. All of the hibachi food had little flavor, except for excessive salt. The soup was ok, and the salad was good, though the portions of both were smaller than is typical at other hibachi restaurants. The portions were small for everything, but for most of the food I did not mind, as it was quite bad. To add insult to injury, the food was rather expensive.

Serving plates were cold. Not pre-warmed on grill. Rice, veg & meat prepared separately and served sequentially? Better if served together. Fire show weak. Eggs not cut in air

Good food and great service made for enjoyable spontaneous meal. We went downtown to find someplace to eat with no particular plan in mind. We love the Kobe, a favorite hibachi place, in Palm Springs so we thought we'd give this place a try. The dinning area is not particularly creative or well decorated. The service however, from our cook and our server Karina, were both fantastic. We wanted for absolutely nothing. And as for the food, we tried shrimp, scallops and steak and found them all to be well prepared. All in, we enjoyed this place and would return without hesitation. It was impressively busy on a Monday night so I'd make reservations.

Good food. Our chef was awesome. It was a little loud but over all it was very nice!

The new menu is fabulous! The new sushi chef takes special care in taking care of his patrons, and will even create you something special based on your preferences. We loved the old place but are loving the new one also.

The new owners changed the ingredients of the Santa Barbara roll that used to have both salmon and tuna, now it has 0 fish and tastes like trash.

Food was decent. Service and atmosphere were average. Not as memorable as I hoped.

Very salty food If you're religiously or a strict vegetarian it's certainly not the place, there is one main heating plate where ALL the meat/fish are cooked. So all the food smells of the most overpowering meat..

My boyfriend and I came here for lunch. I've been to plenty of hibachi restaurants, it's one of my favorite foods. This restaurant in particular was average in my opinion. The restaurant was pretty small and their exhaust vent could have been a bit better. The staff and chefs were nice and attentive but the food was okay. Out of all the hibachi restaurants I've been to, this was the only place that uses garlic powder instead of real garlic. And yes, it does make a difference. The portion were good and prices were okay but I don't think I'd come back and visit this restaurant again.

I went in with high expectations... However, I left feeling shorted. Everything about this place was basic. I ordered hibachi chicken, which is normally beast, and received what was actually a thigh that had been removed from the bone. Service was mediocre, she got out order wrong. Chef was mediocre, we didn't even received sauce. Truly a disappointment.

Food was delicious and in their defense it was cold the day we went, they had heaters that didn't really work and my food got cold before I even finish. Sushi was ok, the ambiance is great because it's outside and you can see all the people. We didn't get the dipping sauces for the dish.
