The Mission Rose Garden is well worth visiting if you are in the Santa Barbara area. It is located just East of the Santa Barbara Mission and is an easy walk just across the street. It contains over 1500 rose bushes that bloom from April thru December, with the peak bloom in early June. The garden is surrounded by a gently sloping field of grass that is an ideal spot to eat a picnic lunch, but be warned there are no tables. A short walk away are the remains of the original Mission Aqueduct and a nice wooded area with a wonderful old dead tree perfect for young children to climb. Make sure and visit the Mission and the Santa Barbara Botanic garden located a few miles up the canyon.

You can't visit Santa Barbara and not visit the Mission Rose Garden. Managed by volunteers, always beautiful! You can see the Julia Child and Barbara Streisand roses here!

Visited in end June and roses were in full bloom. There were many varieties on display. Great spot to get pictures with the mission in the background. The lawns next to the garden had people relaxing, picnicking and playing. Great place to relax.

Beautiful serene space to relax, with a gorgeous view of the ocean in the distance and Santa Barbaraโ€™s friendliest citizens having fun in the sun. Dogs are everywhere and the roses magnificent!

A popular hub for local gatherings! The rose garden itself is beautiful when in bloom, and the adjacent grassy field offers plenty of room for parties and playing.

Pleasant enough place, a good distraction with a little bit of history tucked for good measure. this is a nice place if you want to get away from the shopping and the beach and want to soak in some old California vibes. Not sure how well it holds up to multiple visits but a nice change up.

This place is beautiful with roses and mission. I think late spring is a wonderful time to go but it is also beautiful now! It's nice to have a picnic here or just lay down a blanket to sun bathe. Just keep in mind that there is no restroom available and little shade so it's nice for a brief visit.

Such a beautiful and special place. Great spot for a picnic and a star party. The Rose's are fun to look at and of course to smell! Lots of space so that you can have a quiet intimate moment with someone special or with a great big group of friends. Across the street from the historic Santa Barbara Mission.

I was looking to photograph flowers for my instagram account and discovered that the Rose Garden was still in full bloom today , 10/21. We stopped and spent about 1/2 hour wandering thru the garden. The scents today were just heavenly.

These beautiful well kept rows of roses are the perfect framework for the incredibly beautiful mountains and our very own queen of all missions, with her unique twin white towers crowned with terracotta tiles, in itself is truly stunning. This is a great place to bring visitors as well as to hang out with the locals, great place to chill with the family and friends, and the dog. This is also a Mecca for tourists so it can get a bit crowded at that times

Beautiful roses in a nice small area. They have a big field for picnics and perfect for letting the kids run around, while you enjoy the views.

Oh. So. Gorgeous. No frills, just natural beauty. The roses are truly incredible. Itโ€™s unbelievable that some of these rose bushes date back to the 1800s. The park itself is simple but the beautiful smells of roses and the extraordinary mountain views make this a must-see in SB!

Gorgeous scenery. Roses blumeing and grassy area ti set up your own picnic. Great ambiance. Busy street nearby & can be busy on weekends with weddings and parties. Lots of space to spread out. Not much shade available, so bring an umbrella if you want some relief. Great spot!

Beautiful spot with roses and a large grassy lawn for lounging that has great views of the mountains. Plus, there's some roses blooming in early January.
