I recommend the whole families have a easy hiking trip here for couple hours. The trail is not steep at all. On the other hand, it is flat and very friendly for the kids. In summer and spring, you will see many kinds of flowers and butterflies everywhere. You can enjoy not only the fun of hiking but also the pretty sea scene. The day I went here was too cold and cloudy. I will visit again for sure!

We have been here over the years to see the monarch butterflies. Bummed that there were no butterflies. It’s a nice easy hike though there are tree trunks that obstruct the trail that we had to climb over.

One of the best hikes in Santa Barbara. Relatively easy and the views are AMAZING! Great place to take a dog also

A great park and hiking area with multiple trails. The Butterfly grove is easily accessible and has lush flora and trees. A great place to visit if in Goleta or near Santa Barbara and there were a few butterflies in the grove even in the early September heat.

I guess the butterflies already moved on. A few were flying around but not many. It was a nice little hike which is easy to extend to the bluff overlooking the Pacific.

This park is beautiful the trails lead you throughout all the groves you have to see it all! The bonus is finding the beautiful trees near the cliff it's breathtaking! Find the trail down to the beach! Near the golf course.

There were no butterflies 🦋 today but we had a great time walking around in the shaded areas and exploring the general area. It feels very residential until you start walking on these trails. It then becomes absolutely gorgeous.

Not many butterflies in Summer, but the number and variety of flowers, plants, birds and other wildlife is truly staggering. Trails throughout with large shaded areas. Dog-friendly, but closed to bicycle and equestrian use. Trails are all easy and parking is available near the golf course.

Visited 2nd Feb ‘23 between 11:30 - 13:30. Unfortunately couldn’t find any big clusters of monarch butterflies even with binoculars, just a few flying around. However the eucalyptus smells amazing and it was a lovely walk in the woods and to the beach.

Took a little morning walk this morning. No butterflies this time of the year but this flower was on steroids! 😉

A beautiful spot to observe the Monarchs as they spend the winter months gathered in this grove of eucalyptus trees. The grove is a short walk from parking and, as an added bonus, it's a short walk beyond the grove for some beautiful views of the ocean from the mesa.

Come early in the day as the area is dark and butterflies are not easy to spot until they move. Bring binoculars and a good Zoom for great photos. Due to zoom, brace against a tree or lug a tripod up the hilly uneven slope. Wear hiking shoes or sturdy tennis shoes as it is rough ground in places. Well worth the little hike, just be prepared. No restrooms or amenities, but they are within a couple of miles if driving . No tickets required.. park on the street_right side. Enjoy!!

👍👍 Evergreen Park has a challenging disc golf course, the best in the county. It also has tennis courts, playing fields and a newer children's playground. I walk around the park several times a week, being careful to not impede the disc golf players. I'm beginning to practice disc golf myself...it...
