I stayed here for one night on my way to Big Sur. I was in a pinch to find a place short notice and La Quinta ended up being one of the few options. The outside of the building is cute and fits nicely into the area. The inside of my room was a different story. The room was old and dingy. The furniture was torn, stained, and generally in poor condition. I could have let all of this slide since I needed a room short notice, but this facility price gouges on the the weekends and I paid over $400 for one night when it's normally $150. If you find yourself in this situation just spend a bit more and stay somewhere nicer. It's frustrating, but not as frustrating as paying $400/night and staying in a room which was borderline odious. The one upside is the central location hence the one star.

Absolutely filthy. Mold all around the window, bug droppings everywhere, and I found a dead bug inside a pillowcase. When I went to cancel my room the front desk was empty for 30 minutes and the staff didn't have the authority to refund me. I'm just hoping I don't bring home bedbugs.

Affordable. Great staff. Extremely clean rooms. Construction is a bit noisy, but not too much to complain about since I slept with a fan and the AC on. Breakfast is tasty. Property is clean and sanitary. Nearby restaurants and stores to check out. I had a pleasant experience.

Hey guys, I chose this place strictly on location. A meeting I was in Santa Barbara for was right across the street. The team there is super friendly and helpful. The entrance to the hotel is nice and there is some cool landscaping. Haven’t been there before so not sure if they’re expanding the property or renovating but there is currently some big construction project underway. It didn’t interfere with my sleep though. I paid a little over $900 for a 3 night stay and for that price I did expect better accommodations. The room was outdated and dark. Hopefully this part of the hotel is next on the ongoing project.

Appalled by costumer service and disregard for our baby. From previous stays at La Quinta this year, we expected sleeping accommodations for our infant son to be provided. Not only did this hotel lack any accommodations for our 7-month old, but the staff made no effort to provide any solutions (e.g. transferring our reservation to another La Quinta in the area with available pack-n-play, or switching us to another room with double beds). The staff refused to make any concessions even after repeated requests on the phone and in person based on our desire for our baby to have a place to sleep where he would not be at risk of falling or suffocating. There was no sympathy for the safety and well-being of our baby or respect for us as costumers. For a hotel chain like La Quinta to fail to have a standard pack-n-play is horrible hotel management. Worse still was the unprofessional and seemingly heartless staff member we interacted with. We had to check out of the La Quinta almost immediately even though it was already dark at this point after being on the road all day. Only after repeated inquiries, the staff member we spoke with said he would ask his manager if we could receive a refund. It felt like we had to put in all the work to receive any service. We are still waiting for our refund. We will never stay at this La Quinta again. We booked a room at the Hotel Santa Barbara that same night, where the accommodations and the costumer service were outstanding. Leaving La Quinta was the best decision we made to prevent our trip from being ruined.

I used Booking.com for this hotel that was used for both a business/ pleasure trip to Santa Barbara. Not only was the hotel not specified that it was under construction but the parking lot was an absolute nightmare. With cinder blocks and equipment on each side of my car my rear bumper was scratched and damaged. The noise of the construction carried on till the early evening. The room and bathroom was clean and tidy and we were told to come down for the complimentary breakfast before 10am. We checked out at 8am to find, no breakfast, no staff, just a bucket that said. "Used Guest Key Cards, Thank you for Your Stay." Me and my business partner waited and no staff came to assist us. Came to my car to find it damaged and it took us forever to get out of the makeshift narrow parking lot. I love La Quinta Inn but not the Santa Barbara location. For $270 a night I sure expect better.

Stay FAR, FAR away from this hotel for the next 2 months (at least). The "warning" on the website about renovations does not remotely do the extent of the construction justice. There is literally no quiet place in the entire hotel. The entire inner courtyard basically no longer exists. They are adding an entire other building that also faces this courtyard, so you can only imagine the noise that generates. And then the streets and sidewalks on two sides of the property are also under construction. The front desk staff literally wince and exchange looks when you check in, probably wondering when you're going to come back and either complain or ask to move to another hotel. The hotel was not honest, at all, about the state of the property..."renovations" does not even begin to describe the disaster zone the hotel currently is. I'm sure it will be nice once it is done, but the hotel is not honest about how bad it currently is.

Very clean and family friendly. Had a wonderful stay here, employees are friendly, our room seemed to be updated with modern decor. My kids were super excited that they heat the pool and were swimming in January! Self serve/self make breakfast choices were a very nice treat (Belgium waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, cereals, pasteries, toast, bagels, yogurt, juices, coffee, tea etc). This is located within walking distance to large kid friendly park, restaurants, movie theater. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Santa Barbara & recommend this hotel to friends.

The building itself was kinda dirty. The bathroom doors don’t have a door knob or lock so they just slide open after you close them and are see through glass. The rooms don’t get cleaned unless you ask. The “complimentary breakfast” was a Capri Sun, apple sauce and a smushed store bought pastry, in a brown paper bag. The heater/AC was SO loud it was almost impossible to sleep with it on. Since we couldn’t sleep with the heater on cause it was so loud we asked for an extra blanket and they just gave us a sheet. There was also NO PARKING! there was about 10 spots for the whole hotel!! we had to park on the street, in a 15 minute zone (from 8am to 6pm) and wake up early and move our car even farther down the block. I wouldn’t come here if you want a relaxing stay. I’m sure they are better places.

Worth the price. Clean room, friendly staff, breakfast was included. Close to town. Downside the bed was lumpy, the airconditioner fan never turns off (even though we selected auto). Although the breakfast was free it looked and tasted the part. The overall stay was very average.

Hotel was having some addition work done to it. Rooms were small and priced high for the location. They were clean as was the hotel. Easy walk down State St to the pedestrian area for dining, etc.

Was aware of the construction and parking issues ahead of time. Asked aout a room away from the noise at check in and was instructed that I could request a new room the following morning if I was bothered by the noise. Thankfully it wasn't an issue. The parking garage is small but I found a spot everytime-although there is plenty of free street parking available. No towels in my room at check in-front desk informed me that their supply had just arrived and towels would be promptly delivered. I've started staying at La Quinta because of their pet policy and would stay at this one again! I stayed for 3 days and the location is perfect. Walking distance to the downtown area. 10 minute drive to the beach.
