The
Mar
Monte
is
an
interesting
hotel
with
lots
of
character,
close
to
the
beach.
Upon
arrival,
we
waited
more
than
45
minutes
in
the
lobby
for
our
room,
finally
settled
in
around
5pm,
only
one
(of
two
key
cards)
worked.
We
were
given
a
very
small
room
that
smelled
funny
and
was
located
in
another
building
across
the
street
behind
the
hotel.
There
was
no
ice
machine
in
the
entire
building.
The
room
itself
was
nicely
appointed,
clean,
and
included
a
small
fridge
if
needed.
The
swimming
pool
was
beautiful,
clean,
and
heated.
The
hot
tub
was
ok,
but
small.
There
were
multiple
people
trying
to
squeeze
into
the
tub.
Unfortunately
one
couple
decided
it
was
ok
to
light
up
a
joint
while
other
people
were
around,
including
young
teenagers…unbelievable.
The
fire
pit
was
large
and
lit
well
with
multiple
seats
surrounding
it.
There
are
complimentary
bikes
which
you
can
ride
along
the
beach,
a
fun
treat!
We
had
dinner
at
the
Lido,
the
service
was
slow
and
a
bit
strange.
They
somehow
ran
out
of
the
only
pasta
dish
available.
The
food
was
still
very
tasty.
You
can
also
go
across
the
street
to
The
Reunion
Restaurant
(not
a
part
of
the
Hyatt)
which
is
very
busy
and
has
a
view
of
the
ocean.
We
tried
to
end
one
evening
with
a
late
dessert
at
the
Hyatt
but
the
restaurant
was
already
closed!
(8pm)
There
wasn’t
even
room
service!
There
is
a
large
TV
in
the
room,
but
only
a
small
choice
of
channels
to
choose
from.
Parking
is
$30,
only
valet
allowed.
We
parked
on
the
street
the
second
night.
The
final
blow
was
when
the
air
conditioner,
located
next
to
my
daughters
bed,
was
very
loud,
so
I
tried
to
turn
it
off,
but
the
buttons
got
stuck
and
started
to
cool
the
room
instead
of
heat!
Unfortunately,
in
a
panic,
I
needed
to
unplug
the
whole
thing…not
what
you
want
to
do
in
the
middle
of
the
night.
They
serve
delicious
coffee
and
tea
in
the
morning
at
the
lobby.
Overall
I’m
glad
we
experienced
the
Mar
Monte
Hotel,
but
Hyatt
has
some
polishing
to
do
before
we
would
go
back.
