Listen, if you could stomach to stay at a low end Vegas hotel such as Luxor, MGM, or Excalibur, Lemon Tree Inn will suit you just right. I went through many reviews on here, and people look for things to complain about and lack some humility. If you're into the fine details, look elsewhere, this hotel is not for you. You're more suited to stay at a 4+ star hotel. My stay here was terrific, there are definitely some negatives but overall the hotel suited my needs. The room is pretty big. The bathroom area is very spacious with the sink separated from the toilet and shower. There's a mini fridge, iron, TV, 2 reading couches, big table, and a clothes drawer. The beds were comfortable, the A/C was cold. The balcony excellent, it had a coffee table and two seats. Perfect to spend a morning there, sipping on coffee or tea or a quick smoke while seeing the beautiful garden they have. Very chill. Onto the bad. The pillows were uncomfortable, really needed more pillows. Not enough towels and the room had a slight smell but not enough to defer my opinion of the place. Parking was fine. For the price and location it was 100% worth it. I was only 5-10min away from the Mission, Natural Museum, Downtown, and the Pier. I would definitely go back.

Spent 4 nights here- 2 at once and 1 night on the return trip. Good location. Great food at restaurant. Front desk staff not at all engaging. Charged more than my reserved confirmation. Dirty towels in room the first night. No refrigerator in room on our return trip and no towels. Ask for a pen and they directed me to a store up the road. The location is great. Rooms are large. Pool and patio are lovely. Not sure it's worth the price though. But I highly recommend the restaurant

Property is beautiful with a great layout, staff legit cares and will take care of you. I had a minor issue but they went out of their way to fix it. If you stay the crocodile restaurant is a must

Spend hundreds of dollars a night in a room that shouldn't cost more than 10! Room reeked of cigarette smoke and dog. Air conditioner unit was not working properly and all the outlets wouldn't work because plugs would slip out of the sockets. (maintenance came and gave us a three-way splitter to help). Floors were uncleaned and dirty. Bathtub and toilet had grime and stray hairs. Service was helpful and on top of things. Can't beat the location. The inside of the complex has a nice place to relax Beautiful trees and flowers. Nice patio.

On our first night at our freshly "cleaned room" we found a bath towel wadded up underneath our pillows on the bed. This means that the sheets and pillowcases were not changed since the last guest. It was late and we weren't in the mood to call and wait for someone come and do their job at 10pm; we brought a can of Lysol and sprayed the pillows, sheets, and headboard liberally. We ARE in a COVID pandemic and most hotels are adhering to strict cleaning protocols however the Lemon Tree doesn't appear to be performing even basic cleaning and laundering between guests. The headboard and dresser also had smears on them (hopefully not any sort of bodily fluid) and it looked like housekeeping made an attempt to wipe them down but didn't do a good job. Travelocity and Hotwire both state there's a 72 hour gap between guests at the Lemon Tree (COVID protocol) but this, of course cannot be true since the room was being "cleaned" when we arrived early. I've traveled extensively in Asia and abroad and am far from picky but this room was simply gross and more importantly, COVID protocols are not being following as simple laundering isn't happening between guests which becomes a serious safety issue.

The receptionist Nicole Huang was super sweet and helpful. She gave details on the room before we stayed and was very attentive. She also shared valuable insights on the school she attended, which happened to be the school my daughter expressed an interest in attending. Her service was exceptional and made our stay truly memorable.

Good afternoon. We stayed at your hotel in Santa Barbara from 02/10/2023 to 03/10/2023 for one night and were charged a $150 deposit which has still not been refunded. When checking out from the hotel, we were assured that the deposit would be returned within two days. When can I get my deposit back? My bank assistant said that the bank has nothing to do with returning the deposit. I ask you to return the deposit as soon as possible.

Stayed 2 nights, prices were reasonable for area. Room could use a bit of upgrade, was a bit dusty and phone didn't work. My favorite was the patio area that led you to the pool and bar/restaurant area. Garden is well kept and plants are beautiful!

We stayed here during our trip to visit our daughter. It was nice having a restaurant on site, the pool area was nicely maintained and our room was as described on the website. I did suggest to the front desk that they may want to think about having a shower mat or something else non-slip in the shower. Maybe replace the hard desk chair with something more comfortable for seating purposes? Other than that, we fully enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Little more charm than a motel 6. Thin walls— loud late night noise from adjacent rooms and the room above. Cold lighting in the sterile bathroom made it feel institutional. Amenities were tiny and a hodgepodge, from different brands. A weird thing is the metal bed frame skirt that encircles the bed below the mattress. Each time a foot, nay a toe touches it, a startling metallic clang booms. We both wear bedroom slippers, and somehow, by morning, our slippers were sticking to the floor. Ewww. Advantages: The State Street location is only a short drive away to the popular shops and restaurants in Santa Barbara. The refrigerator worked well. The water was quick to get hot.

Nice large room with 2 queen beds. A small soda, desk with chair. Bathroom was clean and well lit, but chilly. Outside sink was huge, dated some but very clean. Courtyard was very nice, well landscaping. Dining room was nice. Free coffee for anyone during the day. Cons the beds aren't to comfortable sits on top of metal frame, don't hit toe, even with flip flops on. The carpet is the worst. it has an odor coming from it. Needs taken out, feels unsanitary. I never walk in my bare feet. I hope in due time they replace their carpeting. As it takes away from the rooms. Great pricing. I give this a 4 star, taken Way the carpeting and bed. Needs some updating. But don't hesitate to stay

We stayed there for 2 nights. This place looks good but once inside the best is gone. Over priced. The developer has good ideas but missed several points. They have enclosed patios with absolutely no ait circulation at all. They have beds that will put you in a chiropractor office just to drive home. The beds are old and sunked in the middle. Not to mention the smell of stale mildew that you don't see but its there. When you pass the court yard you see a huge room filled with beds and bedding like its being saved for the high rollers and everyone else can just settle for what the non English speaker staff has to offer. Maybe they could actually upgrade the beds after ten years. I will never return or recommend this place.

Really great location and room for the price. I stayed in the pool view king room and it was huge! We had our own little patio view of the pool and the accommodation in the room was clean and up to my standards for this 3 star hotel. It was quiet, clean, safe, accessible, and complete with the things you'll need. I gave it 4 stars because it was overall better than what we were expecting.

This classy and cozy little gem is by far the very best. No issue with extra pillows or towels what so ever . Clean and crisp at every turn and corner . The staff is courteous and attentive to all your needs and wants. The Crocodile restaurant is excellent and makes it easy to be completely satisfied without ever leaving the grounds. I would love to stay here again and am happy I am here right now .

A nice discovery. I stayed for 2 nights in this hotel in the summer of 2022 as I used it as a base to explore Santa Barbara. Very good location, just a few minutes drive from the beach and the center. The room was very large and very nice. Very high level of cleanliness. Only flaw was not including breakfast.

Good location on State St - not too far from downtown. Nice pool and cool poolside bar. Good restaurant within the hotel. With that said - the rooms are outdated, rundown and overpriced. The mattress and pillows were not comfortable and the wall mounted AC unit was noisy. Service was friendly, but they were understaffed and were more interested in explaining problems rather than solving them.

The Manager is very Unprofessional, rude and disrespectful!! Obviously a younger kid that needs more customer service training and all around management training. I had a issue and was upset and all he did was rudely answer me or make noise gestures as I was bothering him. When he was making me and being rude I asked for the manger he said he was. Oh my!!! I told him instead of making the situation and being rude and mean, listen and explain instead of argue and confuse me, he didn’t care. He just wanted to hang up on me. Never have I ever dealt with such a unprofessional, undertrained Management employee in my life. This establishment has a horrible manager that won’t help you resolve your issues. The kid I spoke to that said he was the Manager and I highly doubt he was, but that is who you have running the front desk.

The location was ideal for the wedding reception we went to and the staff at the hotel were super nice and accommodating. The grounds were very clean and the pool area was nice. However, there were some issues that did not justify the cost of the stay. For example, the room we were in was outdated and dimly lit. A few led light bulbs could have helped that part out. We needed extra towels and I couldn't call down to the front desk because the phone wasn't working. No big deal but it's the little things that count. The guy at the desk acknowledged a problem and fixing the phone required them to do extensive work. Ok, then why not tell me that before getting to the room? The shower felt like it was sinking into the floor and it was just a poor representation of what this motel could be. If the cost was half of what we paid then I would say you get what you pay for. However, the cost of what we paid didn't meet our expectations. If the hotel management reads this they should focus on the details of the rooms because the rest of the motel is appealing but the rooms are just not up to what they are charging.

Beware of your privacy and security especially when with your children. I tried to have management help me understand who entered my room for 20 solid minutes went straight to the bathroom while my 12-year-old daughter was left in the room and I went to work. Management did nothing to resolve my concern/issue instead the manager Mr. Conrad ignored my email after making up stories of maintenance fixing my toilet when they did nothing to fix my toilet except deliver a plunger . I would definitely not suggest anybody stay at this hotel. The roaches in the tub at night were the least of my concerns compared to the unidentified person who entered my room unannounced went straight to the bathroom for 20 minutes while my daughter was in the room and then left without a trace. very scary not OK.!!

Their courtyard is very cute with pool, bar and outdoor restaurant sittings, and we have been coming here a lot for both food and stay. However the room we had last week was not so pleasant- the heater was extremely dusty and smelly when turned on. My husband is allergic to dust and it kept him sneezing and had stuffy nose. I'm not allergic to dust myself but it even made my sneeze caz it was so bad. We could not use the heater on the second night and it was very cold at night. We told the front desk but they didn't do anything and didn't seem to care. The room was very big and had a big couch in it which was nice, but the bed itself was not very comfortable and the pillows were tiny! So strange. Truly wish they could clean the heaters up and upgrade their bed and pillows a bit. It'll make it much more comfortable and delightful to stay

A decent, reasonably priced hotel in Santa Barbara. Room was clean and relatively quiet except for some noisy neighbors in an adjacent room. Very nice courtyard and veranda. Housekeeping was good, except that they did not come on the last day. Most hotels these days don't offer any routine housekeeping anymore so we were pleased that for the first 3 days our room was freshened without having to ask. Not sure what happened on the last day. Would stay here again.

The carpet in our room really needs to be replaced. It has a very bad odor. The staff was very nice and courteous. The bar and restaurant in the hotel is the best it's great. I will be going back to the restaurant bar but not the hotel.

Reservation was messed up. Our confirmation email showed 3 rooms were booked. At the time of check in, only 2 showed up in their system. Had to wait 30min for them to fix it. Pillows and bed definitely need an upgrade. When I slept, the bed just sunk in. The next day it gave me a neck ache. The floor was uneven with dents. I cannot imagine how is that even possible. The carpet was smelly. Noisy guests kept us up late night. I guess the low price does attract people who are not here to rest at night. And now here is my very generic review. The Lemon Tree Inn on State Street in Santa Barbara is a charming and welcoming hotel that offers a unique and comfortable experience for travelers. Located in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara, the Lemon Tree Inn is just steps away from the city's many restaurants, shops, and attractions. One of the standout features of the Lemon Tree Inn is its beautiful and well-maintained courtyard, which is surrounded by lush foliage and flowers. It's the perfect spot to relax and unwind after a day of exploring the city. The hotel also has a sparkling pool and hot tub, as well as a well-equipped fitness center. The guest rooms at the Lemon Tree Inn are spacious and decorated. Each room has a private balcony or patio, providing guests with a tranquil outdoor space to enjoy. Overall, the Lemon Tree Inn on State Street in Santa Barbara is a fantastic choice for travelers who want a cheap room. Whether you're looking to explore the city or just relax and unwind, this hotel has something for everyone.

The room was clean and comfortable. I should have asked for a handicapped room but it was adaptable. The patio looking out to the garden and restaurant was very enjoyable. Service was great. I am a day sleeper and I was left alone which was appreciated. Parking was adequate and the restaurant was located in the Inn and was delicious.

Bed was nice and so was the room in general. The only down side was the bathroom. The isolation in the bathroom wasn't that great we could here other people like they where sitting on our toilet. Also the toilet gets easily clogged so don't use to much toilet paper. The shower was great though.

It is nice to have a restaurant on premises. The pool is large, very clean but miss a hot tub. Rooms are spacious with open shelves in bathroom dressing area with safe, coffee maker and microwave. Miss a fridge, although some rooms have them. The outside area is lush with plants, quiet and private. Includes fire pits and tables for dining.

The rooms are a little tired but the interior courtyard makes up for it! We have a private outdoor patio with a beautiful garden view. The food in the attached restaurant is a bonus@

Pros: cute, well landscaped grounds, pool, attached restaurant, quiet area within walking distance of several good places to eat, less pricey than nearby inns. Cons: There is no other way to say it.. the rooms are just grimy. While the sink, tub, toilet and linens appeared clean, the walls, headboard, doors, and furniture looked like they hadn't had so much as a rag taken to them in years. The lighswitches were filthy, there was makeup splatter on the wall in the bathroom, the baseboards and door were filthy (I had to scrub some crusty brown stuff off the door knob) and the headboards were dull with what was clearly months of hair and body oils. Also, the queen size beds are not u.s. queen size and were definitely more of a u.s. fullsize. The bed linens were also extremely thin and each bed only had 2 pillows. Given that it's been a very chilly last few months, thicker or extra blankets would have been welcome. I understand this is a budget lodging, but it is disheartening that they would go to such lengths to make the grounds look so appealing, then have such low standards for basic room cleanliness and comfort. It was fine for a quick weekend trip where we didnt spend much time in the room, but I probably won't stay again until the room cleanliness is improved.

Our room at this old school hotel was a good-sized double queen room with a large, plain, balcony (with two chairs and a small table) facing the open-air courtyard. I think most, if not all, rooms are situated like this. The courtyard is large with many mature trees, as well as a fenced-in pool area. The Crocodile Restaurant & Bar is the only restaurant in this hotel and it has outdoor seating in the courtyard area (we enjoyed several delicious cocktails in this outdoor space, it was very nice).

Great value and should be rated much higher. We stayed in a double queen and the room was huge and even had a balcony. Everything was clean and well maintained. The folks at the front desk were helpful and friendly. The price was very reasonable for the area. Hard to find any fault really.
