The property was recently remodeled and it looks great. While amenities are limited, the location of the hotel makes it a great choice when visiting Santa Barbara. The overall feel is that of a boutique hotel that primarily caters to adults. We found the bed comfortable but the pillows are big, bulky and difficult to sleep on. Our room had two main issues. It was next to the elevators and the noice of motors was disruptive to sleep. We also had more than a few ants in our room. Most annoying was the check out process. We clearly indicated to the manager that our bill did not reflect the daily food credit. We were assured the bill would be adjust to reflect the correct balance. One discussion with the hotel manager and two follow-up calls to the hotel did not result in getting the bill correct. Our recommendation to other guests - check your final bill closely for overcharging.

Applies to June 2022 and probably July, MAJOR construction in hotel. I was in a redone room and it's a good sign for the future, very comfortable. I only give three stars because they really should have discounted the room rate because of the construction or offer to move me to another property. (I made reservations in March)

First of all, great location. Shops and hang outs are all walking distance. The hotel itself is under repair. The rooms especially the one we got had a smell of sewage. The air-conditioning turns on and off. The good side is the hotel staff is friendly. Better hotels out there.

Location- Just a few steps away from State Street. Try Joe’s for breakfast, Holdren’s for dinner; Red Piano for music and drinks; Wine Therapy for drinks and fun. Dog Friendly- Yes! Valet parking- Yes. Quick in and out. $30 a day. Lobby- Small but clean. Has a bar that’s open in late afternoon. Breakfast- Not included. Might as well walk to State St. Also, Oat Bakery two doors down. Rooms- On small side, but clean and well appointed. Big shower, small sink area. Comfortable king size bed. Very quiet. Kruerig in room. No regular housekeeping. Nice patio on second floor. Get room on second or third floor. Great place to stay, especially if you have Hilton points. Otherwise, you are paying for being in Santa Barbara

Indifferent staff. Really weird security guy. Paid an average of $500.00 per night for three night stay, absolutely a rip off. Rooms are tiny, noisy and incredibly bad odor coming from bathroom sink. Stay somewhere else

Only good thing is the location and there are plenty of other hotels nearby so choose something else. The service here is appalling. The rooms are tiny, noisy, and overall lack attention to detail.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. All front desk staff and housekeeping was VERY friendly. Loved the complimentary bike rentals. However, nearly every night there was bass beating and loud music until early morning hours. After the headache that ensued we checked maps and turns out behind our room right next door is a recording studio. My suggestion, stay at the opposite end if you want sleep. I’m surprised the hotel didn’t do anything to try and alleviate some noise.

Management and staff do not share their notes with each other, leaving guests who are dealing with legitimate issues in their rooms frustrated and burdened. We got a room with a smelly bathroom sink and no bath soap, so we asked for the sink to be fixed and soap replenished. They filled the soap dispenser and walked in their dirty shoes all over our bathroom floor and bath mat, leaving us with a dirtier bathroom than before. They never fixed the sink. Then we told the front desk and they offered to put us in another room on a higher floor and to call in the morning to see which room we switch to. We called in the morning and the front desk had no idea about the situation. Do not tell guests you will fix a problem or give them another room if you are unable to. Very unprofessional and they need to hire competent house and cleaning staff. Will never stay here again. Very disappointed.

Lovely setting and location, just off State Street, close to everything- restaurants, shops, bars, Wharf, beaches…perfect. Staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating; Andrew at the front desk went above and beyond in dealing with a minor issue on Thanksgiving night; nice to know your stay will be wonderful, and if not, there are friendly, empathetic people there to make it so.

This is a good spot and it’s close to all the action. Rates are generally low here if you book 3+ weeks in advance. You can walk to a bunch of restaurants and bars. You can also walk to the pier from here. It’s a decent hike there but it’s not too bad. Anyways this holiday in has breakfast in the morning, they don’t have a gym here unfortunately. I don’t think they have a pool either from what I can see either. I think they have parking here. I walk next to a lot on the way. There’s also a really good pizza spot nearby here. It’s also 3 stories high with an old modern theme. It’s in good shape overall.

Loved it! So cute and a great vibe. The staff was kind and check in was quick and easy. They had a cute second floor balcony which was great to have a glass of wine or cup of coffee. One block off the main street for shops and restaurants- easy walk to anything.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Hotel Virginia. We were greeted warmly by the hotel staff. Everything was very clean and luxe while not feeling too inaccessible. The upstairs patio was great for a sit in the morning and had a great view of the mountains. (Attached photo) The rooms were nicely decorated and had all we needed. The location was very convenient for all activities. The hotel also offered complimentary bike rentals, so we got o take them out for the day and bike along the shoreline trail to all the nearby beaches.

Had to leave a review after seeing the average of 4.1. The rooms at this hotel are as nice as any hotel in the area. Yes the rooms are expensive (especially on the weekends) and yes there aren’t that many amenities but that’s just an overall Santa Barbara issue that is not specific to this hotel. Overall, clean hotel with good rooms, easy parking in a good location.

Hotel Virginia offers a convenient and well-located stay. The staff is friendly and accommodating, enhancing the overall experience. While the elevator might be quirky, taking the stairs is an option given the hotel's limited three floors. Room 318, while cozy, is clean and well-maintained. Do note that the pictures might give a slightly larger impression. The hotel's prime location is a huge plus, with fantastic dining and bar options nearby. Keep in mind that overnight valet parking comes at a cost of $30.

Amazing hotel! The staff is so helpful and kind, the location is awesome, and the rooms are comfortable. The only complaint I had was the AC didn't get super cold, but that could have been user error. Definitely a great option if you want to be in walking distance to restaurants, shops, and the beach.

Best in town location. We continplated between a beach location or in town. Since we arrived right after the storms, the beach was a mess. I'm glad we picked in town. Perfect location. People who work here were very friendly and accommodating. Only would like cream for my coffee in the room and possible light bite restaurant at bar in evening.

So, two nights stay was 1300 dollars .... the room was comfortable if a little noisy given that there was no barrier between the room door and the corridor. Breakfast.... my advice is eat out. It is not up to Hilton standards - the waffles were pre bought - there was no bacon, the eggs also pre-bought - very limited and very expensive. Oh and when the hotel is busy it is an absolute nightmare to get served. I am a Hilton Dimond member and therefore chose this brand over others and stayed with Hilton in LA, Las Vegas and San Francisco on this trip - all were head and shoulders above this... Value for money - horrific .... won't stay there again.

Great stay. The hotel is in a great location near shops and restaurants on State St. The wharf is a 10-15 minute walk. The room was small, but the bed was very comfortable.

Defiantly will stay here in the future. Andre at the front desk was polite and Great. The room and hotel were clean. It just off state st and easy to walk to places. But just far enough to be quit. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and clean

Room was smaller than I thought, but still very comfortable. Location isn’t bad. Bathroom was pretty small but it was adequate. Very modern design. Staff were very nice.

Nice old Santa Barbara hotel. Great location the the Funk Zone and State Street restaurants and bars. Not the best amenities. No room service, breakfast, etc. I will go back next time in town.

This hotel did not let us check in until 4:00 in the afternoon That's terrible. The valet parking person at night was reckless when bringing peoples vehicles to the front of the building. He seemed drunk and was careless about his work. He is bald middle aged man. Made our last stay very unpleasant. No one in the reception area to complaint to.

Loved the hotel beautiful view from the window. Really nice staff. Only the parking was a problem. Other than that everything was good. ))).

First room's sink drain pipe was detached so all the water came rushing out on the floor. Replacement room's shower glass must not have been sealed or leveled right so water leaks everywhere after a shower. May add photos later, just very disappointed in Hilton these days.

Newly renovated boutique feel hotel. Received a call 2 days before arrival - message from Frank Romo confirming stay and informing us of busy graduation weekend. We asked to check in early. The team came through and got our room ready by 1pm on date of arrival. The tall guy with the great attitude at reception is just a gem for the hotel. Welcoming, smiling, knowledgeable on the area. I did not get his name since we chatted about going ons in area. Felt like a long lost friend. Great service and kudos. Apologies for not asking for your name. Central location - easy walk to the famous busy State Street restaurants, bars, music, shops, shopping. Just 1 block away and around corner. 2 excellent restaurants - one across street and other next door to enjoy good meals and awesome drinks. Easy 15-20 minute stroll to beach and warf. When we stay in Santa Barbara we like to enjoy breakfast and coffee at Jeanine's Bakery and Restaurant near the beach. Worth the drive or walk. We also like Convivo restaurant. Delicious and everything is homemade. Drinks are amazing. Rooms are clean, smell brand new. Comfortable beds. Pillows are okay. I like fluffy soft pillows. New carpets. Restroom newley renovated, clean and cool art deco feel. The entrance is art deco beautiful. The hotel will have a boutique bar area at entrance by July 2022. We saw the structure being erected. Will be cool. Noise level from famous State Street is like New Orleans. Vibrant, noisy. However, for most part we slept well. One of us is light sleeper so woke up a few times at 1am or so. Views from top floors are pretty. Parking is $25. I paid for parking to not worry about finding space on street. Car was secure. We walked 50% to time and drove the other 1/2. Convenient to have a choice. Overall awesome hotel.

Convenient location, comfortable beds, generous TV. Small, but well appointed bathroom. Very small closet. The service is very good. The breakfast is also very good. The decor is poorly done. Score: 7/10

The renovation of the hotel left us sleep deprived. We were woken up by trucks, banging and drilling noises in the hotel. Also, there is a bar across from the hotel that was loud and it kept us up in the night when we were trying to sleep. The breakfast was not great, runny oatmeal, lumpy eggs and the sweet buns were frozen. We will not be returning to this location! Only good thing was the location it was blocks away from State street.:(
