Amazing hospitality, attentive management and family run business. Beautiful rooms, free breakfast in the mornings and free cookies in the afternoon - wonderful. Unfortunately, when we stayed they were renovating the stairs so it was noisy near our room and there wasn't much sound proofing because it's an older building. My partner had to wear noise canceling headphones in the afternoon because he needed to work remotely and the noise was loud. Otherwise, a great stay and I assume most people will go when there aren't any renovations, so I recommend. To those interested, you can get the best deal by booking directly through their website

I really enjoyed everything about this hotel. The location is perfect, walking distance to State Street and the beach and several restaurants and bars but is in a nice quiet neighborhood with a quaint and homey charm. Our room was very nice and clean with all the amenities we could need. Fireplace and jacuzzi tub were cozy and relaxing, and we enjoyed having coffee out on the balcony. Most of all, I enjoyed how very quiet our room was. No loud traffic or people outside or noises from inside the hotel. I felt very relaxed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. And breakfast was simple and close to our room with good food and a nice outside patio for the beautiful sunny Santa Barbara mornings.

This is the second time we have stayed here. We park our car easily on site and walk everywhere! The front desk staff is very responsive and helpful. They text too which makes it really easy to communicate. The room we stayed in was San Nicolas. I enjoyed the big jet tub and fireplace. It’s quiet and romantic, a perfect couple’s weekend getaway. They have a fancy coffee machine in the breakfast area which I enjoyed daily. They also had a cold water dispenser to refill our water bottles. We walked to the wharf, had breakfast overlooking the beach, walked state street filled with restaurants, and ended our weekend with the local art walk on Sunday and brought home some beautiful paintings and gifts for the kids!

We got the budget queen room off of the lobby. You are right next to the breakfast area and lobby which was completely fine with us. We heard a little bit of noise but it didn’t effect us whatsoever. The front desk employee was amazing. Super energetic and happy to be there. He suggested a wonderful restaurant and was extremely friendly. We ended up having the complimentary breakfast We ended up renting the bikes (for free) and cruised around the coast. Super close to the beach and also close to downtown. Highly recommend!

On a rare rainy two days in Santa Barbara it's essential that you're staying somewhere you enjoy. We got lucky and chose the friendly and cozy Eagle Inn for our first SB stay. It won't be our last! We loved SB and loved everything about the Eagle Inn as well. The excellent and friendly service started before we arrived with great communication on a regular basis. On arrival, very late at night, we were greeted with a very happy sight - a warm welcoming lobby with someone wearing the same warm welcoming smile sitting at the desk. It was just what we needed after a long day of train travel. Our room was the icing on the cake. Again, the warm, welcoming, friendly theme continued here. It just felt like home from the moment we stepped through the door. Breakfast was very good, with a short choice of items, each hand-prepared and delivered to our table with a smile. The location couldn't have been better. Tucked away but only a few minutes stroll to the seafront or to the bustling lower State Street. We got the chance to take two of their great cruiser bikes out for a spin on our first evening. Sadly, due to the rain, we didn't get another chance to use them but our plan had been, and will be when we return, to use the bikes extensively to explore this wonderful town and it's sweeping, beautiful, waterfront.

Our stay yesterday was wonderful! It was my husband's birthday and he was so impressed by the location, the beautiful room, and most of all how Peter treated us. Whatever we needed, Peter personally brought to us, like coffee first thing in the morning. We highly recommend the Eagle Inn!

Excellent staff. Peter was most helpful, with his recommendations for restaurants within walking distance. All the staff is pleasant and helpful. Wonderful complementary breakfast. Rooms are well appointed and comfortable. I would recommend this B&B for any occasion. Within walking distance to downtown and the beach. Don't get any better than this. Oh yeah the king bed was super comfortable.

I stayed here for 3 nights and it was overall good. I’ll start with the bad: It can be very loud with thin walls and creeky floors. I stayed on the first floor and I could hear people in the room above me walking around and talking at all hours of the night, waking me up multiple times even while using a noise machine. The weekend breakfast was more crowded and the service was not good, with only one person serving who was clearly overwhelmed, forgetting multiple things we requested and bringing our food out at different times, whereas during the week it was all together and much better organized. The good: comfortable bed, awesome shower, great location, beautiful building, different breakfast options (with same daily decent vegan option) and made to order, free bikes to use for the path along the beach (highly recommend going around sunset!)

We had the most wonderful time staying at the Eagle Inn in the San Nicolas casita. My husband and I were here for the second half of our honeymoon after spending a few days in LA. The manager, Paul, reached out prior to our arrival and did a great job of making sure we had all of the information we needed. Check-in and check-out were very easy, and each member of the front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The property itself is so cute, and my favorite feature of the casita was the private balcony. Breakfast is served daily and can be brought to the room or enjoyed in their dining room, which also has a very cute patio. The breakfast selections and fresh baked cookies (and sometimes lemon bars) were all delicious. Our room had a fireplace and whirlpool tub, which evoked exactly the type of romantic atmosphere we were seeking. The location is great, walkable to the beach and the Funk Zone. Would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves back in Santa Barbara.

My husband and I have stayed here twice and every time it has been consistently awesome. Breakfast is delicious. The waitstaff is so king. Peter at the front is accommodating and attentive. Oh and those fresh afternoon cookies! Yum! We love the whirlpool king suite. We always meet lovely guests here. Couldn’t be happier with our stay whether for one night or three.

This is the kind of place I want to stay in if I were traveling and decided to stay at a location for an extended period. It's got character, super cozy, the staff is attentive and polite, and you're in a great neighborhood and location. I wish that the bed was not as springy but it definitely did not ruin the experience. They served breakfast in the morning, had fresh cookies out for a snack, as well as some Halloween candy.. You're a quick block or two to the beach with stunning views as well as a 10 minute walk to a busy strip with bars and food. It really has everything you need for a comfortable stay. My wife asked of our trip along the coastal highway, which was my favorite hotel and this was it for me.

Overall great hotel. We booked their smallest room (standard queen), but it was cozy enough for two. Included breakfast was good (limited menu but rotates items daily). The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is spectacular; tons of restaurants, bars, and the beach all within walking distance. Will definitely stay here again next time we're in Santa Barbara.

I was so impressed by the Eagle Inn. They communicated with us on early check in and also periodically throughout the stay. The breakfast had a few different options and afternoon chocolate chip cookies were a nice touch. Every staff member we interacted with was extremely nice. The location is a quick 4 minute walk to the beach and an easy 7-10 minute walk to the Funk Zone. Parking was also easy and abundant. The rooms themselves were very clean and had comfortable beds. We’re recommending any friends/family visiting Santa Barbara to stay at the Eagle Inn!

From the moment we entered the lobby we experienced a calm and peaceful environment. The staff that welcomed us did so as if we were coming into his own home. The serene setting of the property was the perfect last travel day/night for us before heading home. We enjoyed a good meal at a near by Mexican restaurant (walkable) then took a nice walk to the pier. We snatched a couple homemade cookies from the lobby before heading to our very well maintained and comfortable room. The amenities inside were first class and attention to detail is obvious to the guest. We were offered the opportunity for our breakfast to be delivered in the morning, which we chose. It arrived piping hot, on time, and we enjoyed breakfast on the balcony to start the day. If you're searching for a "tell me what's wrong here" review, you won't find it written here. We've already recommended the Eagle Inn to two of our friends. If you want a welcoming and peaceful stay, make a reservation here - we sincerely hope to be back!

Stayed here for a night with my wife to explore Santa Barbara for the first time. Great location for the price. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Peter at the front desk. They have fire pits and free use bikes with baskets, a garden courtyard to relax in after a long walk or adventure in the city. Beach is a 2 minute walk at most, breakfast was tasty and you can't beat an all day coffee machine to serve lattes and espresso on demand. Would definitely stay here again.

I had an amazing stay here this past weekend May 2023. Check in was easy and the front desk guy who works at nights was consistently amazing with offering recommendations for food in the area, helping make reservations, and helping us with our bike rentals when we were done for the day and rushing to another event. Amenities were wonderful. Breakfast here was great, rooms are clean and comfy with microwave, fridge, coffee maker. Tub is big and perfect for two. We will definitely be back.

Excellent experience at The Eagle Inn. Stunning boutique hotel with plenty of amenities and superior service. Staff is friendly and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and clean with a keurig, robes, and comfy bed. This hotel gives quiet romantic getaway vibes for couples. Daily included breakfast is a lovely sit down service with a 5-option menu. Food is made fresh to order, there is a coffee/espresso machine, and fresh juice. There is also a filtered water machine, candy, and daily pastries/cookies available in the lobby each day. There is free parking on site and the Inn is located in a safe quiet area of Santa Barbara that is within walking distance of local attractions, the Wharf, restaurants, marina and beaches. The price is steep, but considering the amenities, free parking, and comparison to other hospitality prices, this hotel is an appropriate price for the area. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to my family/friends.

The Eagle Inn staff is very friendly and helpful during our stay with many suggestions on what to see and where to visit. The Inn is beautifully set and has many areas to sit outside or within the Inn. The breakfast were varied everyday and were a full meal of crepes, Mexican Eggs, fruit and scrambled eggs. Served fresh and made to order not warmed up. Rooms are spacious and have nice appointments and plenty of seating area. Location is ideal within walking distance of the shore, downtown Santa Barbara and other attractions. You can leave your car parked and not have to look for parking.

Such a wonderful stay! Peter at the front desk really made it the best experience. Very welcoming atmosphere for our last minute stay, cool art and vibe. Breakfast was excellent. Loved the baked goods and personal touch. Slept wonderfully. Peter was so friendly and helpful - even helped us park our oversized van. :-) All the staff we encountered were nice - next level care. Loved being able to quickly walk down to the ocean in the morning. Definitely recommend staying here!

Incredible service and ambiance. Thanks to Peter who was an amazing host. He checked us in and resolved an issue with our room quickly with an upgrade. He also checked in with us to make sure everything was ok with the new room, providing supplies for the tub and then tried to reach us several times when we left items in the room after we checked out. The other staff like Skylar and the kitchen staff who made delicious breakfast for us were also very friendly and helpful. The stay made our double birthday weekend celebration so memorable and relaxing for us. Thank you! Highly recommended and will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful hotel! During our California trip we stayed in other hotels that had complimentary "breakfast" but The Eagle Inn was the only one that offered a proper meal, which was wonderful! Room was cozy and spacious. Staff was super friendly and attentive - upon checkout we were even able to leave our car in the parking lot while we walked around Santa Barbara, and a few hours later we just went back there to pick it up. Lovely stay, strongly recommend!

We needed a place to stay on short notice and someone recommended the Eagle Inn. We made last minute reservations and I was very impressed by the warm, professional process. Peter assisted us when we checked in and he was Fantastic! He was warm, helpful and did everything to make sure our stay was great. We stayed in one of the casitas which was private spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast delivered to our room was delicious. Peter recommended the Opal Restaurant on State Street for dinner. The food was outstanding and the service was superb! We will definitely recommend the Eagle Inn and will definitely go back there.

Our stay at the Eagle Inn far exceeded our expectations. The room was amazing, spacious and comfortable. The fireplace was cozy, and the two-person jetted tub was relaxing after a beautiful day walking on the beach. The breakfast was excellent and different each day. The hotel was extremely close to everything, while being located in a quiet neighborhood. Peter was professional and helpful as we enjoyed great restaurants and local activities.

Beautiful room, phenomenal above and beyond service, perfect place to stay perfect location only a 10 minute walk from the beach, or a 3 min drive. My sister in love and I went on a sisters trip for her birthday and they made sure to have chocolate covered strawberries and rose pedals to make her feel special. Made to order breakfast each morning included. This was recommended by my daughter and son in law. Great recommendation. Already planning next years stay. Enjoy!!

A wonderful experience! The Anacapa cottage was lovely; we especially loved the fireplace & whirlpool tub. The loaner bikes were great; we went on a long coastal ride. The breakfasts were delicious. And all the staff members were courteous, helpful, & friendly. And the location was perfect: 5 minute walks from the Amtrak station, the beach & marina, and to State Street. We LOVED the Funk Zone neighborhood on the coastal end of State Street!

WE LOVED OUR STAY! We spent two nights at The Eagle Inn. The staff were very kind, the rooms were very comfortable and clean. They went our of their way to make sure we enjoy our stay. The hotel even has bikes for you to borrow during your stay. The location is perfect! It was a short walk to the wale watching boat. We would DEFINITELY stay again! By the way, the included breakfast was delicious!

We celebrated my b-day & stayed for 3 nights. It took me a long time to read reviews to pick the right accommodations as far as our budget, cleanliness & close everywhere the Harbor & Pier. They had a promotion offers for long stay. Better than Military or State discount. After 6 hrs. long drive we were ready to Retire for the night & came to find-out the fridge, fireplace, TV & hot tub were not working or not functioning right. We were offered to move to another place but we decided to stay in Santa Catalina for it was too much for us. We were delighted that we got compensated for one night & the next day everything were fixed. The best part of our stay too was the Complimentary hot breakfast where you have an option of room service. It was delish meal to start our day. We also tried the patio while eating our breakfast. Everyone were pleasant & definitely we’ll be back. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely room on the second floor in the front. We were so surprised to have a sunrise and enjoyed the complimentary delivered breakfast on the balcony in the warm January sunshine. The room was large and clean and included a big tub with jets. The hotel is conveniently located to the beach, State Street and the funk zone. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially the woman at the front desk upon check-in with recommendations for restaurants and other areas of interest. We enjoyed our stay in Santa Barbara and the Eagle Inn was the ideal spot for us.

My wife and I stayed at The Eagle Inn for 2 nights and highly recommend it. We booked our reservation directly with the Inn and found Paul to be very friendly and helpful in helping us decide which room and location we wanted. We requested early check-in (about an hour early) and were contacted by Peter on arrival day to say they were able to expedite room cleaning so we could check in early. Upon arrival Peter greeted us, checked us in quickly and easily and pointed to the just baked chocolate chip cookies. Our room was very clean, comfortable, had adequate space for our needs and was very quiet. Peter was on duty each day, answered all our questions, made some excellent suggestions for dining spots and was a pleasure to speak with. Breakfast was served each morning in the dining area and we enjoyed the food. There was a selection of either a hot breakfast or yogurt with various accompaniments such as granola and nuts or cold cereal with berries. In summary, we won't hesitate to stay at The Eagle Inn again when we spend some time in beautiful Santa Barbara.
