We were very disappointed. You can tell that the new generation has taken over, they do it without love and only look at $$. The photos are deceiving. It is unfortunately not made nice on old, but it is really old. It stinks like a grandma's house. There is no wine & snack anymore, although it is still advertised online. Breakfast is too small and no real choice. Either you get served 2 croissants with butter and jam or a small piece of quiche. Before that a mini bowl of fruit and grenola . No seconds. No cereal, toast, cheese or tomato/cucumber. The service at breakfast is just there friendly is a different. There is no cleaning or service, trash cans you have to empty yourself. You have to order everything (shampoo, toilet paper, towels) supposedly because of Corona? Seriously, come on! Overall a huge disappointment and we would only recommend it to our enemies ;)

I struggled so hard with leaving a review because this place is SO good! I want it to be the best kept secret but they also deserve the kudos. Everything: the gorgeous rooms, friendliness, amazing hospitality, the garden, the AMAZING home-cooked breakfasts, location...it truly checked all of the boxes for us. We will come back sooner than later.

We stayed in the White Rabit Room for 2 nights in early July. We loved it! Here are our highlights. #1 - Upon arrival, we were met in the courtyard (let us check in a little early). They knew who we were, gave us a brief tour, showed us our room and provided recommendations for our stay. Top notch welcome. #2 - Breakfast was fantastic! Best quiche I've ever had. Fruit/granola/yogurt followed by 2 choices of main dish every morning. We shared each entree, so we got to try everything. Delicious! #3 - The room had a lovely layout with plenty of room to relax. Great shower/water pressure. The deck added a nice touch to relax during the evening. Perfect bed. #4 - Location was ideal. 2 blocks from Main St. 1 block from ebike rentals. For us, we felt everything was within walking distance. Tranquil. We spent almost every day walking the less than 2 mile stretch to the beach. Beautiful scenery. And we were always welcomed in the courtyard when we returned by our host - asking about our day. PS - don't miss their fresh chocolate chip cookies they set out every afternoon. We definitely ate a few.

Wife and I did one night get-away to Santa Barbara. Our first time staying here at Cheshire. Cute room with patio. Comfortable bed. The room was musty and needed air, so we kept the windows open which helped to keep it fresh. The room entry was a cute Dutch door entry. Good breakfast served on the veranda right outside our room. Friendly staff and management. Great parking. Will stay here again after Covid shut down is finished and they have completely restored their services such as evening wine, etc.

Our experience at the Cheshire Cat Inn was amazing. We came all the way from Minnesota for a friends wedding and we couldn't have had a better time. Louise and the rest of the team were so nice and accommodating! 10/10 would recommend!!

Cheshire Cat Inn is one of those places I had on my wish list for years, and I was truly looking forward to staying here, but unfortunately I ended up feeling disappointed by the experience. Pros: * Walking distance from State St * Rooms are clean * Beautiful shower Cons: * Feels very impersonal and cold - both during check-in and breakfast * Breakfast is incredibly bare-bones (the photos are misleading), and sadly not very good - we ended up going to a coffee shop immediately after on both days * Lots of noise in the room. Very loud stepping noises from the above floor * Our room was placed in an awkward location - it was in such close proximity to the kitchen that it felt like food was literally being prepared under our noses (the smell was overwhelming) * Rooms don't get cleaned up, towels and toiletries don't get replaced/refreshed All in all, I sadly regret staying at Cheshire Cat Inn and cannot recommend this place.

Great service, friendly and helpful staff, lovely range of breakfast (blueberry french toast was superb). Our bedroom had blinds which didn't quite keep out the light so a sleep mask is useful. Wonderful visit to Santa Barbara would love to come back.

People are great and friendly EV Chargers for those with EVs making the trek to Santa Barbara. They also care about your experience and is reasonably priced.

This place is a gem. The location is very nice and close enough to State St. to enjoy Downtown but tucked away enough to be quiet. The service and staff were amazing. After a small glitch at check-in, it was handled to beyond our expectations. The breakfast in the morning was a welcome tasty meal and made you feel at home. We would definitley recommend this place.

The Inn far exceeded our expectations. The photos are great but it is truly surpasses what is seen online. Carolyn was a very personable Inn Keeper. We booked the Alice Suite and absolutely loved the balcony view. The staff make you feel like family.

We did not have a good experience here and would definitely not stay again. The biggest disappointment (there were many) was the major construction going on immediately in front of the location. The Main Street in front of the B&B was closed and the noise from machinery and construction crews began at 6am, right outside of our room. While they do not control city construction, staff were well aware of this project and should have disclosed this when we booked, but did not. I got an “oops” apology when I complained, with an offer of a 20% refund, which I never received. While the location of this B&B is good (close to downtown), the room was not as clean as it could have been and was extremely small and cramped. There is no bottled water or even filtered water available in or near the room. There was coffee and tea, but you had to walk to the house next door to even get that. The “breakfast” offered was just continental, not a true hot breakfast as you would normally get in a B&B. For the price, this place was a huge disappointment and the amenities were non-existent. We have stayed in many B&B’s over the years and this was definitely our worst experience. Definitely overpriced for what you get, in my opinion.

Loved this place! We stayed in the March Hare room, which wasn't the biggest but big enough, and with a very comfortable bed. What really made our 2-night stay special was the hospitality from the moment we arrived. We were welcomed like old friends and the breakfast was one of the best we enjoyed during our 3-week California road trip. The beach was easily walkable (approx 40 mins), and the town itself was en route, so the walk was an enjoyable meander along State Street and around the Funk Zone.

One word….wow This place is amazing. The owners of this bed and breakfast have spent a lot of time and money creating a beautiful place that has expanded to neighbouring properties. The check in process is great, they communicate everything by text including the options for breakfast that they host outside in the most amazing garden space. We booked in the ‘Duchess’ double room which was very comfortable. The only personal criticism from me was the bed was a little to soft but that is only my personal preference which doesn’t affect my rating at all. This hotel made our stay in Santa Barbara even more memorable.

This is possibly the best place to stay in Santa Barbara. Not only is the location perfect, but the hopsitality is top-notch. Andrea was extremely friendly and nice to us. She gave us recommendations of what to do around town and made sure we were having a good time. Even though the room where we stayed is a bit old, it is maintained in pristine conditions and everything was very clean too. I would recommend this place to anyone and will most certainly stay here again if I come back to Santa Barbara. Lovely place and lovely host! I'm glad we stayed here.

Our stay at the Cheshire Inn surpassed all my expectations. The rooms are all unique, well set up, and the gardens make you feel you are on retreat. The Inn Keeper is a model of friendliness, informative and dedicated to those staying at his bed and breakfast. The staff is also friendly and helpful. Oh, did I mention that breakfast is delicious and different every day. We will be back!

What a charming find and an excellent location in downtown. The hosts were welcoming, and we felt comfortable and at home. The cottage was a delight and the Food recommendations, all walking distance, were outstanding. Simon was fantastic and was helpful throughout our stay, very kind and gracious. Breakfast was outstanding and plenty of good coffee. Highly recommend for a weekend getaway in Santa Barbara, especially one of the lovely cottages for families.

Our film team spent several nights at the Cheshire Cat Inn for the SBIFF in March and it was terrific! The staff was friendly and took great care to communicate well with guests. The breakfast was a delicious start to the day. And the accomodations were charming, comfortable, clean and welcoming. A wonderful weekend made all the better by staying at this inn. Thank you Andrea and Simon!
