Marina Beach Motel exceeded our expectations. We had a king room and a kitchenette. It was very clean and very comfortable, and higher end furnishings, finishes, and bathroom than I expected for a motel. The shower had the best rainshower. Very comfortable clean bed, though 3/4 of our pillows were a more dense foam. The motel offered beach cruisers, and we had a blast riding on the bike path along the water. We will definitely be back.

Group of 6 girls coming from LA that stayed 1 night for bday celebrations! PERFECT location and cannot speak highly enough of the staff. I was worried about being on a first floor, but we felt so safe. Free breakfast included in stay, free bike rentals and free beach towel rentals. Parking was a dream. Anything we needed was just one quick ask away. The triple bedroom suite was perfect for our large group. So kind, so accommodating and we cannot wait to stay here again!!

So adorable! The rooms looked like the had recently been remodeled when we stayed there, and they were really nicely done. The staff was so helpful, and I loved the little extras like the local food at breakfast and the bikes that you could borrow. It was also in a great location - perfect walking distance to basically everything we wanted to do. I would definitely stay there again.

Checked in to a room that had been smoked in and was smelly. They downgraded me to an old room on the outside of the hotel and gave me $10 after pleading for a reduction. I won't stay here again.

One of the best motels we have stayed in so far. Towels were 5 star. Shower, space and bed were all good. A dirty plate in the cupboard and dust on the nightstand were a little off putting but forgiven. Close to the ocean and a pleasant area to explore for adults

Conveniently located decent motel with spacious rooms and bathrooms. The bathroom in need of renovation. There was also an armchair and a small table with two chairs in our room with 2 double beds. Thin walls are the major problem since you end up hearing everything going on in the parking lot right in front of the rooms (the cars are parked 2,5 mt away from your bed) and from the neighboring rooms on both sides such as talking, TV, AC, .. our neighbors turned on the tv at 6am and woke me up. The complementary breakfast we did not make use of but it’s good to have for locals whose breakfast needs are more modest. The already outrageous room rates go up even further over the weekends..

First time staying here and did not disappoint. Room extremely clean (thank you Gina) Location great. Staff responsive. Owner Chris has it together. Family owned for 40+ years. Quiet, although motel was full. Love Chad's for breakfast for the food and ocean view.

My husband and I travel with our toddler and dog a ton for work and also for fun and this was by far our favorite place we have stayed. The room was very clean and the area of town it’s in is perfect. There were so many restaurants just within a few minutes walking distance and the beach couldn’t have been more than a two minute walk. With Covid going on, I’ve noticed most hotels/motels we’ve stayed at have skimped on their breakfast and it’s mostly packaged food. Marina Beach still has an amazing breakfast. The staff was extremely kind and were able to answer any questions we had. We will definitely be back!

My family stays here every year. We get two rooms and they are always clean and comfortable. The hotel is walking distance to the pier, shops and restaurants, plus the staff is outstanding. John at the check in desk is incredibly friendly and helpful (he puts a big smile on our faces). Prices are fair for Santa Barbara and I would highly recommend this location.

This hotel is actually a gem. It’s renovated, beautiful and comfortable. Staff is kind and location is perfect. So happy with it!

Just wonderful, right on the beach, lovely rooms with kitchenette, dog friendly. We brought 2 large dogs. I love a tile floor for the dog's sake. I forgot to bring my baggy when I took the dogs for a walk in the beach but it was okay because there was baggies in a free dispenser right at the entrance to the beach.

Lovely Motel. Beautiful landscaping. One block from the beach. Great handicapped accessible rooms. Wonderful continental breakfast. Staff was great. Incredible showers. Great value. Highly recommend it.

We called the Marina Beach Motel last second and they were able to accommodate us with their last room. We can’t say enough about how great the staff were and how convenient this motel is. The room was great, fresh baked pastries from a local bakery every morning, and amazing location to everything Santa Barbara has to offer. Highly recommend!

The perfect seaside motel. The staff is helpful, friendly, and quick; the rooms are clean and newly renovated; super close to the beach and downtown and we were surrounded by beautiful Santa Barbara. It doesn’t get any better than that. We hope to come back soon - with our dog!

They did a nice job of renovating this place. I stayed here and thought nothing of it when the front desk told me they were to help until 1130 pm. Staff was friendly. At midnight the people in the room next to me started moving things around their room yelling and cranked their rv to max volume. When I called the front to get someone to quiet them down there was no answer. I knocked on their door with no answer. They got louder. They partied until 3 am and I’d had enough so i left with zero sleep. I had to wait until someone was working the front desk to call and inform them of what happened. They did say sorry and they would see if they can give me a discount. Of course I heard nothing back and there was zero follow up. The staff was friendly, it’s not their fault, but it felt to me like the guests next door knew they could make as much noise as they wanted after 12:30 without consequences and since I was there to rest before continuing my road trip I am just livid about the lack of customer service from management and zero empathy. They did nothing to make this right as they already had my money. If you chose to stay here just beware the walls are super thin and you have no way of controlling your neighbors. Do not expect management to be there for you. That said the front desk staff were very nice and I do realize this was bad luck for me. I just would have liked to be treated respectfully and as if they wanted to have me return as a customer

As we drove up it was wonderfully nostalgic. Yet, the rooms and grounds were a million times better than my memories of motoring up the coast and staying in the quaint motels by the ocean. The whole place has been renovated and so very clean! More like an updated timeshare than a motel. Definitely will be back again. Add the amazing staff: Titaian checked us in and provided great ideas for the area. Hunter suggested we use the free bikes and towels for a quick ride down the beach. And special thanks to Jenny and Stella the next morning getting us on our way with snacks and breakfast on the go.

The room was clean! The employees were friendly, they allow dogs and their coffee is really good💕 Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay. Absolutely fantastic location, and amazing value. Very friendly service when we checked in, and we were placed in a newly renovated room that was lovely. We had to leave a night early, and the hotel manager was kind enough to accommodate us and not charge the remaining night. Cannot wait for our next stay!

I was hesitant booking a motel, but that’s the norm in that part of Santa Barbara. The room was pristine, and well-updated. Check-in/out was a breeze. They had bikes to borrow for the day, and the breakfast provided was better than most hotel offerings. Most importantly, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful with suggestions. Anything you would want to do in SB was walking distance (funk zone or wharf) or bike distance (Butterfly Beach or SB Zoo).

Perfect location, impeccably clean, newly redone, great breakfast, and best of all, wonderful, friendly staff! You know you’re in a good place when the staff are happy and really like each other. Hope to return someday!

Been here a few times..always great..staff super helpful, location ideal, and the rooms are ideal. Short walk to the centre, the beach and the pier. Breakfast is just right...can't wait for our next visit.

Older motel, but maintained and upgraded well. They have a nice continental breakfast with fresh pastries. Most importantly is the location. You are in walking distance of the Marina, Stearns Wharf and numerous restaurants. Our favorite was the Fishouse.

I came here for the 1st time with my 1 year old and husband for an overnight stay. Pros of this place that it is super near the beach, front desk is friendly, and you get a small morning breakfast. Besides that in my opinion to pay around $400 a night for an old motel is crazy given the fact that the bed isn’t the most comfortable thing to sleep in and rooms are really small. My room which was next to the front desk had ants all over the wall near my closet, tv, and bathroom so we couldn’t use it or keep any food outside. Bathtub wasn’t working properly either it was either super hot water or cold and the faucet would shoot water to the floor instead of the bathtub. We ended up getting a $20 off on our stay because of the ants. Should have paid way less if you ask me for the inconvenience of the room. But besides that not a bad place.

The staff was amazing, all so friendly and accommodating. My room was very clean and quiet. The location was perfect for a morning walk on the beach with my dog. I will come back when traveling through Santa Barbara.

Perfect central location to see all that Santa Barbara has to offer. The room was comfortable, the staff was friendly. We particularly enjoyed the free bikes (rode them to Hendry's beach and back), the patio area with the comfortable lounge chairs. This place is why motels used to rule the world!
