Photos on the website are not of the actual hotel. This hotel is the “satellite property” of Mar Monte which is a Hyatt property and the photos in the listing. There are no amenities or services at the property where your room is. Both this listing and the one on hotels.com grossly misrepresented the property and should be updated accordingly. This is not a quick 1.5 block from the main property and is a 6+ minute walk and across from a dodgy park. Walking Back from the hot tub while wet is ridiculous. Is it clean and cozy? Yes. Is it the hotel you think you’re booking? Absolutely not. When I brought it up at check in I was told “oh well you booked through a third party, blame them”… I didn’t feel like arguing with the teenager working the front desk.

Creepy! Very unwelcoming. Zero amenities. Zero ocean views. Adjacent to a train track and across the street from a public park, that houses many homeless. Beware if you book through Expedia-all images are from a sister hotel down the street. Very disingenuous of this hotel to false advertise or at a minimum post a disclaimer. Do not book here especially if you have a family. You will regret it. Motel 6 makes is 5 stars compared to this roach motel.

Be sure to read the fine print when reserving a room here because not all rooms are located on the principal hotel property. This makes using the amenities, such as the pool and restaurants, very inconvenient. We were placed in the Santa Barbara house, about 4 blocks inland from the hotel. The building had the scent and musk of an old museum and it was also poorly soundproofed. We could hear the people in every room around us. Lastly, our view from the window was a generic, backyard wooden fence. All in all, the room was absolutely not worth the $400 that it cost us.

Nice cozy hotel. We asked for one of the renovated rooms and were delighted. The Hyatt has 5 different buildings, so make sure to check in before paying for parking. The Santa Barbara building is renovated and looks like an apartment. One of the perks of having a room in this building is you get free parking!!! They have a tiny lot of this building and you get a permit for the lot when you check in. The shampoo and conditioner here is super diluted so I felt like I needed to use the entire bottle for one shower. Check in super easy, quick, and fast. They were very helpful and made our stay pleasant.

Very disappointed. The Santa Barbara House is quite a distance from the main hotel building...a car ride or golf buggy (provided by the hotel) The building feels old and run down. Our room was small, there was no where to open up a suitcase other than on the bed. The balcony over looks the car parks and train tracks and the air conditioning units out there are old and very noisy. Got the golf buggy to the main building with the view to getting a drink and some dinner. Whilst the decor of the main building is more modern, neither the bar or the restaurant looked inviting, no atmosphere at all. We ended up walking down the road to the Hilton, where we had a lovely meal.

Very very disappointed! We went on a holiday for the first time with our 3 month old son but, our stay at this hotel turned this memorable experience into a series of disappointments. First, this hotel is no where close to a Hyatt stay! It can be compared to just another motel. And it is extremely expensive for the amenities that they provide. Secondly, they do not have a pool which they advertise. The guests are expected to use the pool situated in the Hyatt centric hotel which is 2 blocks away. Do they expect their drenched guests to walk back to their rooms (2blocks away) Thirdly,a guest paying $15 for parking is very disappointing. The only good thing was their super friendly staff. After this experience I am going to make sure that I never book a Hyatt hotel for our future holiday.

I got a room in the Hyatt's off-site Santa Barbara House. The building itself is a little older, but the room looks recently renovated. Very comfortable room overall. I would have liked to have a coffee maker and a mini fridge. There is a nice balcony on the room with a view of the park across the street, and that's great for enjoying the weather in Santa Barbara. I would stay here again for sure.

Away from the main Hyatt. No reception desk, no transport to/from there. Hot water went out and took hours to fix. Hello cold showers! When alerted, they tried to pass it off as "your room has a problem, we'll fix it later" while 23 other rooms had the same problem.
